I think that it would be an excellent show of "financial-solidarity" with The Little People if The Members of The Lower and Upper Houses were to forego their salaries for the duration of the period of The State-of-Emergency.

[  --  But (unfortunately) it's (probably) unlikely that that would happen.]

They provide a service to you which they are not obliged to do and expect something in return for it. I agree that 500THB is over the top, but as this is a special service something like 100THB would be OK.

The Immigration Dept. has been tasked by the Government to provide a document that other Government Depts. consider to be indispensable for the provision of various services to non-Thai Citizens.

     - And if I paid money to a Government-Agency, I would expect to get a receipt in return for my money.

Yeah, all those people that were throwing stuff at the police and trying to get into the White House. If 1% are using Molotovs then the whole bunch is liable to repression. AG Barr gave the order to push them back, not Trump. Try reading another news source <deleted>.

This link includes a 12 minutes video-montage of the events around Lafayette Square on the day that President Trump walked to the Church..

The report mentions that water-bottles were thrown at Security-Personnel.

Is it only me who has realised the great humanitarians like the UNHCR, Amnesty International, etc.'s deafening silence? Or have I missed their news?

The UNHCR is the UN's Refugee Agency.

    https://www.unhcr.org/asia/what-we-do.html

"We strive to ensure that everyone has the right to seek asylum and find safe refuge in another State, with the option to eventually return home, integrate or resettle.

During times of displacement, we provide critical emergency assistance in the form of clean water, sanitation and healthcare, as well as shelter, blankets, household goods and sometimes food. We also arrange transport and assistance packages for people who return home, and income-generating projects for those who resettle."

I say hats off to the parents for keeping their 4 year old son's special needs out of the headlines. And for risking public outcry by taking their special needs son to where he would receive the appropriate care once both parents succumbed fully to the virus.

I'd say that's good, selfless parenting.

Anyone who uses government Covid 19 guidelines as an excuse for not taking care of their nearest and dearest need to take a look at themselves. I've bent the rules myself to take care of my elderly parents, whilst using common sense to keep everyone safe. Arrest me! ????

I spent a few minutes searching Google with the question "Is Dominic Cummings' son autistic ?", and the answers were consistently that people who knew the Cummings-Family personally did not believe that the child suffers from autism.  --  However, the child is indeed only 4 years old.

Money can't buy you happiness....but sure comes damn close!

If money is the root of all evil, why do they ask for it in church ...

The Bible does not say that money is evil, nor does it identify money as the underlying cause of all bad things.

The common expression “money is the root of all evil” is an incomplete and misleading Bible quotation.

The Bible actually says that “the love of money is the root of all evil.” — 1 Timothy Ch 6, V 10.

From personal experience (a few years ago now) i got caught at a checkpoint one time. I had my IDP but had left it on the big bike and was on the scooter when I hit the checkpoint.

Had to go inside an pay the ticket (for driving without a license) - 200 baht. Called my buddy, thinking he'd have to come pick up the scooter. He asked if I had the receipt from paying the ticket and then told me I was good to go and could ride around for a week without my license as long as I had that receipt.

As it seems they are considering extending the Emergency Decree until the end of June now, you should be OK until then at least. The DLTs may open before then as well.

"What Is The Penalty For Driving Without A License In Thailand?

The penalty for driving a scooter in Thailand without a license is 1 000 Baht (USD 31.48, 27.48 EUR, 23.77 GBP)."

    Again and again and again....

Every single thing that Trump does or says,   the Democrats say " oh oh oh,  that might have been against the law "...

The guy was an APPOINTEE , he served at the pleasure of the President. Just like Ambassador and many others..

If he wants, Trump could fire him because he wore a green shirt on Tuesday...

--  Why would President Trump choose to fire an IG for wearing a green shirt on a Tuesday ?

Wouldn't that be a very odd reason/basis to lose confidence in an IG ?

But the crisis is never over that's the point????

Now we have to learn "how to live with the virus".

Would anyone like to suggest at what point in the future the Covid Tracking App and the use of the QR is likely to be *withdrawn* ?

(Note: I don't have/use a [landline/mobile/smart-]phone in Thailand, or anywhere else: I'm able to do everything that I need to do using snail-mail/email.  -  Does this mean that it'll be more difficult for me to spend my money here ?).

Let’s see how the government resolves this issue.  I’m sure the number of infections will rise and that is a HUGE issue

=====>   The number of Covid-Cases will go up, the Government will blame the Workers/Unemployed sitting in groups supping alcohol, maintain the nighttime-curfew, and ban the sale of alcohol again.

  12. The Government and their Local-Proxies (the unelected Governors) have the power to ban the sale the sale of alcohol (which has *nothing* to do with "flattening-the-curve", because that was achieved weeks ago  -  it has to do with Social-Control of the population).  --  Do they also have the power to open up + fund free-food stations for the people who currently have no income ? [ - Forget the "nationwide Bt5,000 scheme ... it isn't working].   ----  Are there *any* sections of the National/Local-Government *anywhere* in the country who are providing free-food ?
