BTW, there was no tear ???? gas used on the demonstrators the day Trump walked to the church.
That's a flat-out lie promulgated by the haters who gotta hate.
MAGA
From the 2nd report:-
"White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany told reporters at a press briefing on Wednesday afternoon that "no one was tear-gassed" and law enforcement "peaceably" dispersed the crowd to make way for the president's photo-op outside St. John's church.
But Tim Murtaugh, the Trump campaign's communications director went a step further ... and told Insider that the pepper compound and smoke don't qualify as tear gas, despite the CDC's designation.
['The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention defines tear gas, also known as "riot control agents," as "chemical compounds that temporarily make people unable to function by causing irritation to the eyes, mouth, throat, lungs, and skin."']
"The Park Police said clearly that neither they, nor their law enforcement partners, used tear gas," Murtaugh told Insider on Wednesday. "Pepper pellets and smoke are not tear gas."
... But the Trump campaign told Insider the pepper balls used to dispel the crowd don't qualify as tear gas, despite the CDC's designation."

Is it only me who has realised the great humanitarians like the UNHCR, Amnesty International, etc.'s deafening silence? Or have I missed their news?

The UNHCR is the UN's Refugee Agency.
https://www.unhcr.org/asia/what-we-do.html
"We strive to ensure that everyone has the right to seek asylum and find safe refuge in another State, with the option to eventually return home, integrate or resettle.
During times of displacement, we provide critical emergency assistance in the form of clean water, sanitation and healthcare, as well as shelter, blankets, household goods and sometimes food. We also arrange transport and assistance packages for people who return home, and income-generating projects for those who resettle."

I say hats off to the parents for keeping their 4 year old son's special needs out of the headlines. And for risking public outcry by taking their special needs son to where he would receive the appropriate care once both parents succumbed fully to the virus.
I'd say that's good, selfless parenting.
Anyone who uses government Covid 19 guidelines as an excuse for not taking care of their nearest and dearest need to take a look at themselves. I've bent the rules myself to take care of my elderly parents, whilst using common sense to keep everyone safe. Arrest me! ????
I spent a few minutes searching Google with the question "Is Dominic Cummings' son autistic ?", and the answers were consistently that people who knew the Cummings-Family personally did not believe that the child suffers from autism. -- However, the child is indeed only 4 years old.

DCummings sits at the right-ear of BJohnson.
That Power brings with it both responsibility and accountability.

I have friends + family in the UK who were unable to say their last goodbyes to their friends; they were also unable to attend the funerals.
I have friends + family who were at their *absolute* wits-end trying to distract their locked-up children.
I have friends + family who currently have great problems finding appropriate childcare for their children as they try to return to work.
My Aunt hasn't been able to see a single-person in her extended-family for *months*.
These are people who were Following The Rules, as they were told to, and as they understood them.
-- People have been making *tremendous* sacrifices as they Followed The Rules - they *need-to-know/expect* that Their Leaders will too.
DCummings had direct access to the *best* childcare-services that the country has to offer. He had family + friends that could've helped him out while he stayed in London.
He chose to place his personal-wants+needs above that of the general-public, and also chose not to care about how it might appear to the public.
For a man with a great deal of Power, DCummings shows *no* Leadership, and also apparently no understanding of/empathy for the sacrifices made by the public.

The effect of DCummings' activities is that The Great Unwashed in the UK will no longer be inclined to follow The Lockdown Rules.
-- *Everyone* had "personal reasons" for wanting to break The L-Rules, but most people didn't. - One way or another, they made their sacrifices.
But what they have learned from/had confirmed by "Our Betters" in the past few days is that The Personal now overrules The Public-Good.

The Bible does not say that money is evil, nor does it identify money as the underlying cause of all bad things.
The common expression “money is the root of all evil” is an incomplete and misleading Bible quotation.
The Bible actually says that “the love of money is the root of all evil.” — 1 Timothy Ch 6, V 10.

From personal experience (a few years ago now) i got caught at a checkpoint one time. I had my IDP but had left it on the big bike and was on the scooter when I hit the checkpoint.
Had to go inside an pay the ticket (for driving without a license) - 200 baht. Called my buddy, thinking he'd have to come pick up the scooter. He asked if I had the receipt from paying the ticket and then told me I was good to go and could ride around for a week without my license as long as I had that receipt.
As it seems they are considering extending the Emergency Decree until the end of June now, you should be OK until then at least. The DLTs may open before then as well."What Is The Penalty For Driving Without A License In Thailand?
The penalty for driving a scooter in Thailand without a license is 1 000 Baht (USD 31.48, 27.48 EUR, 23.77 GBP)."

Wouldn't that be a very odd reason/basis to lose confidence in an IG ?

From Wikipedia: "In the United States, an inspector general leads an organization charged with (1) examining the actions of a government agency, military organization, or military contractor as a general auditor of their operations to ensure they are operating in compliance with generally established policies of the government, (2) to audit the effectiveness of security procedures, or (3) to discover the possibility of misconduct, waste, fraud, theft, or certain types of criminal activity by individuals or groups related to the agency's operation, usually involving some misuse of the organization's funds or credit."
I would hope that in order to perform their tasks properly, the Appointees should be actively politically-neutral.
-- I find it quite strange that anyone would prefer, or think that it is reasonable, for them to be partisan. - Might that not lead to a perceived loss of, or, as a minimum, a compromise in their integrity after their appointment ?

The Government and their Local-Proxies (the unelected Governors) have the power to ban the sale the sale of alcohol (which has *nothing* to do with "flattening-the-curve", because that was achieved weeks ago - it has to do with Social-Control of the population). -- Do they also have the power to open up + fund free-food stations for the people who currently have no income ? [ - Forget the "nationwide Bt5,000 scheme ... it isn't working]. ---- Are there *any* sections of the National/Local-Government *anywhere* in the country who are providing free-food ?

Here's a bit more "flesh" to that sentence (from Wikipedia) -
"During the Six-Day War in 1967, Israel captured and occupied the formerly Jordanian-controlled West Bank, it's one million Palestinian population had now come under Israeli military occupation: Jordan, despite not continuing to be the actual sovereign, continued to pay salaries and pensions to civil servants and to provide services to endowments and educational affairs.
In 1974, the Arab League decided to recognize the PLO as the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people. The decision forced King Hussein to relinquish his claim to speak for the Palestinian people during peace negotiations and to recognize an independent Palestinian state that is independent of Jordan.
Jordan's disengagement from the West Bank, in which Jordan surrendered the claim to sovereignty over the West Bank, took place on 31 July 1988: Jordan renounced its claims to the West Bank, and recognized the PLO as "the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people." King Hussein announced the severance of all legal and administrative ties with the West Bank, and recognised the PLO's claim to the State of Palestine. In his speech to the nation held on that day he announced his decision and explained that this decision was made with the aim of helping the Palestinian people to establish their own independent state."

Wrong. Thaksin tried to bribe the rural population in exchange for their votes. Most of them are modest land owners by the way, so not really poor, the people in high rise apartments in BKK are looking fairly poor at the moment.
In 2019 The State spent over 70 billion Baht to to provide healthcare for around 6 million civil servants ( = 12,000 baht per head), whereas it spent 163 billion Baht on [1] the Universal Health Care Scheme (where The UHC Scheme benefits those who are not covered by the civil servant welfare fund, or the Social Security Fund (SSF) or private health insurance) and also on [2] the SSF for 14 million workers, ( = 3,400 baht per head for 62 million people).
The UHC Scheme is a tweaked version of the 30-Baht-Scheme introduced by Thaksin in 2002.
-- In recent years, General Prayut has accused the UHC of being "a financial burden to the Government".

Disgusting, but I do at least have a reserve I can milk out to the 30th. Next to follow will be the banning of even drinking alcohol like Nakhon Pathom did. One word and one action comes to mind for the governors. Authoritarian and upping the ante for ego face value.
If the CM Governor is so spry and decisive in his alcohol-ban actions re. Covid-19, I don't understand why he hasn't introduced a ban on the sale of the "fruits" of the rampant Burning-Season in CM. --- I suggest that the Burning-Season in CM has health-implications which are at least as great as those due to Covid-19.
