Every place has its annoyances. Just have to accept it, especially for a foreigner who is given no more than one year to stay at a time in Thailand. After one year, if you find your home land is better, you can go back. Thailand immigration policy is perfect for the types of foreigners whose only voice is this forum.
You seem to think that these problems are only related to farangs. How many Thais are bitten by stray dogs and others have a nasty fall as there very are few safe options to walk.

It's the Thai way...
The leaders get richer by millions and the poor get 500 baht for their vote
both sides are happy.
So who would suggest Thais vote for given the entire political scene here is dominated by money.

Extendable baton for 100bht from Lazada sorts the soi dogs.
No need to even swing it, they know what it's for.
Thanks for your suggestion Brit Man, if I go to Lazada what's this extendable baton called. Thanks.

In most countries where a person who suffered injuries due to local councils neglect can sue. Any one going down this path in Thailand is a spend thrift with a sense of humour. So move on.

Hi all, I'm 77 years old and I enjoy good health and have a brisque 90 minutes walk every morning. The 2 things I hate is of course the soi dogs and those dreaded footpath paving bricks. The original pavers were set perfectly but then along comes the people who do repairs to water connections etc but never reset the pavers properly. Many look fine but have no compacted soil underneath them. You stand on them and on your bum go. Cheers.

My wife of 20 years is from the back blocks of Korat. She's one of 10 kids, none of them completed primary school. It really shows up when she has to make a quick decision. She can go into total meltdown even on every day subjects.

Hi all, In recent days Cloudfare has blocked me from aseannow. Has anyone had this problem before and if so what action was taken. Cheers.

I have a holiday house in Chaochoengsao, 80 kms from Bangkok, also 100 kms from Pattaya. Actually the Pattaya train goes past my house about 8.20 am? every morning. We're 20 minutes from the city. As it's a bit remote on a former prawn farm there's absolutely no action. I can't even go for a walk because of the dogs and reckless motor bike riders. I'm out of there after 3 days as the boredom really gets to me. To me thats what most farangs go through as most of us come from major cities. I must've watched every movie on youtube over the years.

I've used Wise for several years now and the service has been first class. First they tell you the nett result of your transfer, so up front you know what you're going to receive. Another feature is they track your transaction so you know exactly where your money is. The fees may seem a little high but thats more than covered by their rates on offer. By the way, open the Wise website, select the from and to countries, select an amount and it will give you a comparison of the banks exchange rates from your country,

Thanks for the replies guys, I'm registered in Pattaya but staying at a property I own in Bangkok for the time being. I prefer to do the reporting myself in person. I'll keep trying the online reporting again which I would much prefer instead of posting.
-
Hi all, Is there any current restrictions in regards to driving from Bangkok to Pattaya and return. I need to do a 90 days report in the next few weeks. I've tried the online reporting link many times but get nowhere. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, is there any special requirements for online reporting. One would think that living at the same address for the past 20 years I would be exempt. Just wishfull thinking. Thanks.

The Czar has said he will open up.

decreasenot be reported any more, to make it happenThe Czar said he will open up but unfortunately the Czar doesn't control the borders of the countries where all the walking ATM's come from. By the way when the farangs do arrive in Thailand will they need to go through a thorough cleansing process. because they are very dirty people as quoted by a senior Thai MP who is no better than a poo house prophet.

A Non-OA visa can only be applied for at a Thai embassy or official consulate in your home country and it allows a one year entry when used.
A non-o visa can be issued at any embassy or official consulate or a honorary consulate. It only allows a 90 day entry.
Since you have certainly gotten a new passport since you started your stay here there should be a stamp on the first page of your passport that states the type of visa you used and the old passport you had.
Here is an example of the stamp.
Firstly sorry Ubonjoe I couldn't find the quote key. As you stated you're right on the money again, so I'll just keep on using my agent until the rules change "again". Stay safe and thanks for your advice.

OA: obtained in your home country. valid for 1 year
1) requires Medical Certificate
2) Requires criminal background check
3) Requires 40/400 health insurance
4) requires 800 K in home country bank
will give you one year per entry, good for almost 2 years if you plan your final entry well
O: 1) Requires 800K in Thai bank
2) Good for 90 days only
After 90 days must file for annual extension
Thanks tonray, so I'm legit. I'll keep on going with the flow and enjoy myself which is a good excuse to have a holiday in Pattaya.

Hi all, after living in Thailand for 20 plus years I'm still not sure the difference between a Non O and Non OA visa. I know I can get a marriage visa but the <deleted> we have go through I go the easy way out and pay for a Non O visa. The company I go through run a business which would be accepted in a farang country, all above board after 10 years. Seriously why do long term expats have to renew every year especially as we have to do 90 day reports. Yes you guessed it money again. If I wasn't married I'd be looking elsewhere.

Tony Blair advocated it last week for the UK. He said "Vaccinated people should be treated differently to unvaccinated people." I agree.
Whether you agree with Tony Blairs politics or not please don't compare him with the Einstiens in Thailand.

After living in Thailand for 20 plus years, I'm sure I know why the vast majority of Thais are "devout Buddhists" Simply put if they were Christians they'd <deleted> up the Lords Prayer. They never think before they act or talk and may I add my good lady is no different.
-
Believe me this will be total chaos which will turn into a mega <deleted> fight. As Thais adopt their me first attitude, as they're such caring and sharing people with their Buddhist teachings.

This problem has been in Pattaya for years, I must admit it was never as bad as it is now. The main problem is that many people from up north east shouldn't be living in Pattaya in the first place. Ok some do ok but the majority have very few skills except farming and quite a few go to Pattaya with illegal intententions. We have to do 90 day reports, maybe Thais should have to do the same thing when they jump provinces. By the way my wife of 20 years is from Korat, of course I met her in a Beach Road bar and she totally agrees with me. Stay safe all as Uncle Tu will come to the rescue.

If beer is your highest continuing daily calorie intake I think you have other issues that need addressing before your weight problems.
Its not my highest calorie intake, I'm just looking at eating and drinking habits where I can reduce weight. I'm also exercising regularly which I didn't do after I stopped playing football.

Hi all, as I've been told to reduce my weight I'm wondering which Thai beers have the lowest calories. Where I'm living right now they mainly sell Singha and Chang. My Beer and Archa are also available and both are 4.5%. What would that equate to in calories? Thanks.

Certainly not, I've been married to a Thai woman for 20 years. Sure she throws her toys out of the pram on a regular basis but she does recover her senses next day. I'm from Australia, I keep in contact with my Aussie mates using Skype. The cost of living in Australia has gone out of control in recent years. I'm so much better off living in Thailand, considering I don't pay rent, I do most of my drinking at home and I certainly don't bar fine girls. I don't get the Australian age pension because they determined that I broke my residential status, so <deleted> them I've moved on and I'm enjoying Thailand. I've never been married before so I have no kids which can be a problem for many farangs. We're all in the departure lounge of life guys. So enjoy yourselves while it lasts. Cheers.
