Thanks both! During the under consideration period I was out of Thailand and came back in (had a single re entry permit) The IO at the airport stamped me in till today and made a note of telling me that stamp was only ok till today.

The period of consideration for my marriage extension is up today but the immigration office has said it is still under consideration. The Immigration Volunteer said come back Monday but all the stamps in passport say today is my last day. Is this normal or anything I could / should do?

When I was living in Phuket there was an Aussie called Diver who was a volunteer lifeguard on Surin beach, what happened to him? Kicked out of the country because of no work permit or what?

No problems opening an account on a non-O visa on Samui, the OP is asking about opening on a tourist visa.

I have had a non-imm "O" for retirement  since 2016.
 
At the time I opened a deposit account at Kasikorn upcountry with the help of a Thai to park the 800.000 necessary.
 
In September I moved to BKK and went to Kasikorn @ Exchange Center to see about transferring my account to BKK.  Apparently, this cannot be done and I needed to open a new account, which was fine by me...
 
The bank girl spoke good English and was very helpful.
 
BUT when she looked at my visa and saw it was an "O" she told me that new Kasikorn regulations prohibit "O" visas, and only allow "OA" or people on work permits.  She said that as I already had a Kasikorn account, that might help but she needed to speak with the manager.
 
A few minutes later she came back saying manager had refused and showed me a Kasikorn screen printout that listed in English the approved visas for opening an account with Kasikorn.  Sure enough, "O" and "tourist" and some others were in the "not accepted" category.
 
She was very apologetic.  I asked what I should do, and she suggested I try BKK bank next door.
 
I'd had enough for one day, but will try BKK next time I am in town.

Had an extraction in Bangkok Hospital. Relatively inexpensive surprisingly!

I recently completed a visa run and obtained my non-b.  The next step is to get the medical certificate for the work permit along with a truckload of passport photos!  I am in Kuku just north of Phuket Town, and I am looking for advice regarding finding a cheap clinic to get this done.  Any suggestions for a reasonably priced photo shop would also be welcome.  Thanks in advance.

Can anyone recommend a shop to have some work done on a big bike? Would prefer around the north (Thalang area) but not seen anywhere. Have had it sat in one shop for a couple of months and has come back with more problems than it went in with!

As you are married you could go to Savannakhet and get a 1 year multi entry marriage visa. You don't need to show any financials.

Island Curtains. Head east from Heroines it's on right hand side. Not sure if they do bamboo ones but sure they do blinds.

I think probably mist of the vets stock it ( the better ones anyway) For sure the one in Bangrak near the fresh market does. They also have a shop opposite.
