The lomprayah bus to Phuket will also be able to drop you close to the airport so no need to go to Phuket Town. Will still need a taxi though but the stop is at a shop that can do it.There's also Krabi-KL.
http://www.lomprayah.com/ww/E/route.htm
According to Lomprayah timetable, you can take the first 07:15 catamaran, then be in Krabi downtown 12:30, plenty of time to get on the late 17:10 AK861 flight.
Also Phuket-KL
With the first 07:15 catamaran, you'll be in Phuket downtown 15:00, plenty of time to catch the 21:40 AK823 flight. If you're lucky and the bus drives fast and you arrive earlier than scheduled, there may even be time to catch the 17:10 AK827 flight.

As I said before ... With few exceptions. Thanks for unwittingly confirming my point.
Actually many exceptions, I have bought a car on credit and also have a credit card, never had to give a bank a security deposit.
How to get a car ... You can rent or you can buy.I'm thinking of moving to an Island over there.
How does a farang get a car?
How to establish credit it LOS..?
Thanks for advice.
Aloha
Establish credit ..... by giving a bank a security deposit of ฿200,000, in return the bank will issue you with a credit card, limit = ฿100,000.
That's the way it works here, with few exceptions.
If you had said with A few exceptions I would agree. There are MANY exceptions, not few.

There is a Facebook group that is for selling second hand things, always iPhones on there. I'm not going to tell you the name of it as you might not think it helpful enough, I'll leave it as more of a challenge for you.

You can bring the boat in for 6 months then it has to do a border bounce. Careful though as not all customs office's are up to date on this. Earlier this year I bought a boat in from Vietnam to Koh Chang and the customs office would only allow entrance for as long as the owners visa. This was an old law but no chance of telling them that. Phuket is fine. If you need someone to handle the paperwork and import I can give you the number of the person who has handled just that for several boats I have bought into Phuket.

There is a new one being built in Maenam, hopefully will be better / safer!

Not sure how official they have to be, my landlady was allowed to do it for me last month, but boss man knew her already.

Went to a National Park last Wednesday. 100 baht, would have been 50 if I'd bothered with my Thai DL.

If it's that much of an emergency maybe better to fly out of Bangkok where you can get the re-entry any time.

I did get one there but they wanted me to go to immigration in town to get it. As it was over songkran and the town office was closed they could do it there. Possibly only when town office is closed.

Or there is a sailing school at Krabi boat lagoon if more convenient. Gulf charters are highly recommended in Ocean Marina, Pattaya.

A lot will depend on your situation and lifestyle, personally I find Samui is generally slightly more expensive, far less choice of shops and products but less traffic and a more chilled and relaxed feel to it.

44,190 pesos!

Thanks Roo, it should but it doesn't, I was even in a bank showing them on their own list of rates sat on their desk.... no, cannot!
-
Anyone know a bank that will do it?
-
As per amusements post above, exactly the same but If you have a work permit you just need copies of that and nothing from immigration.
-
Immigration will be closed on 15th, its still a public holiday.

Does anyone know if possible to get a re-entry permit from a different province than where you live? ie I live in Samui, my extension of stay is issued there, I am currently in Phuket but need to leave Thailand very soon. Will I be able to get the re-entry here in Phuket or do I have to get it from Samui. Not much time left due to Songkran closures!
If you are on an extension of stay you can only apply for a re-entry permit at the office where got your extension.
You can also get one at some airports and border crossings on departure from the country. They are available at both airports in Bangkok 24 hours a day.
Thanks Ubonjoe, that is what I was afraid of! Don't suppose you know if they are available at Phuket airport?

Maybe worth checking in the Expat food shop in the mall near Tesco. Can't remember its name, has the Irish Times in it now and a wine shop. They had a load of BBQ's in there last time I visited.

I wonder how many of the farang fans would like them if they understood the lyrics.

'The problem with all these celebs coming to Samui is that their "glamorous" lifestyle, such as it is, also attracts the likes of Dale Cregan and other members of the criminal fraternity.
They fit in well and probably feel right at home here! (Unfortunately)
Move to Koh Samui or Phuket
in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao

IMO Samui slightly more expensive for both, swimming available at both but depending on time of year is unsafe.
