  1. Tried the new burger restaurant in Fisherman's Village last night. It's just under the arch on the left as you enter called Cheeseburger Cheeseburger. Set up as an American style diner and staff all friendly. Menu consists of cheeseburgers (no surprise there!) fries and floats (may have been a vegetarian option available). Couple of different sizes of burger and cheese can be withheld, normal selection of other drinks available too. The burgers are all 'homemade' and taste great, the relish / sauce also homemade is a good touch too. Everything cooked to order so it's all fresh and not fast food (not slow either) . If you ever get that burger craving well worth a visit. Price wise not bad (for the village!) 2 x smaller sized cheeseburgers, 2 x cokes and a basket of fries 600 baht.

  2. I have a WP and extension of stay issued by the 'one stop center' in Bangkok for a BOI company. The company head office (and company address) is not in Bangkok and I am based in yet a different province (with this province being an alternative location named in my WP) My employment is coming to an end and I want to cancel both WP and extension on my own rather than send them off to company lawyers in Bangkok. Question is can I cancel these at my local Labour and immigration offices or would I have to go to Bangkok (where it was all issued) or at the Labour and immigration offices in the province of the companies head office (where I do not live / complete 90 day reporting)? Thanks for the help!!

  3. Having twice been caught out @ Svensens this month I thought i'd post a general warning:

    1. Special offers: A couple of weeks ago I had one that contained around a third of the glass full of dry chocolate powder, masking the fact that the remainder was a little light in content. My wife observed similar with hers.

    2. Menu-v-reality: During a later trip I ordered an off the peg sundae that clearly showed 2x normal <billiard ball> sized scoops in the menu, yet only had one <golfball> sized scoop when it arrived.

    Twice bitten...

I stopped going there when they started charging for water. Sometimes the little things do make a difference!

  4. I used to see loads of kids on mountain bikes heading up the top of the road opposite Blue Diamond Lodge at the Banrak end of the ghost road. It was a few years ago I lived there but a good place to start and keeps them off the main roads too.

  5. Go to the motorcycles in thailand forum and read about importing bikes before you get too carried away with planning where to park it!

  6. There is a shop opposite Makro that does consoles.

That shop is rubbish for consoles and games when i wanted a ps3 they only had chipped ones. Same same no problem they said! As for the games around 1000 to 1500 baht more than nadz project mentioned above who also do provide excellent customer service.
