Strange how these stories seem to appear shortly after some tourism disaster such as a speed boat crash. Don't worry tourists everything is safe here look you can even leave your loaded wallet lying around and our loveable jet ski operators will return it!!

How does not allowing tourists in stop the sea temperature from increasing which is causing the coral bleaching?

On road heading to heroines monument just passed the closed PTT station is a shop that sells them. It's a shop that sells all those plastic buckets and bowls and all the cheap kitchen utensils.

Can anyone advise: My wife (Thai) has a limited partnership company set up. I have been offered a contract by another Thai company who would like to bill through my wife's company. I will be working solely outside of Thailand. Is it possible for me to work outside of Thailand for a Thai company but not require a work permit?
Many Thanks

Reminder: get your US dollars (visa fee) sorted before you leave home, I forgot and couldn't find any in Mukdahan, 300+ baht wasted, and save a 50 baht note for the bus Savannakhet > Mukdahan, I was told they accept Baht but give change in Laos Kip.
Or just pay in Baht.

Zero coverage. My phone switched to roaming at some point crossing the bridge.I'll be going that way very soon, anyone have experience of 3G AIS (thai) sim coverage in S'vankhet?

Has anyone got any up to date recommendations for accommodation in Savannakhet ? I've seen ones posted before, but like everywhere things can change. Please !
At Avalon now. Booked the cheapest room but as I was finished handing in visa application by 0930 arrived very early and room wasn't ready. (Check in 1400 so happy to wait) by 1300 they upgraded me to a bigger room. Very comfortable good WiFi. Food ok in their cafe and they have a bar which sells bar snacks too. Friendly staff with good English. Definately worth the money.

I have to say well done to Seatran. Turned up at the ferry terminal on Sunday at 10am expecting a long wait but was on my way to Donsak on the 1030 ferry.

It is fairly widely documented that when semding money to Thailand it is better to send in original currency and convert to Baht at Thai receiving bank. Does anyone know which is better sending it out of Thailand. Im sending to UK and not sure if better to send in Baht or GBP?
Many Thanks

I have had to get a new passport which arrives this week as the last one was stolen. I then obviously need to have my extension of stay stamped back in. Does anyone know if you have to get the extension of stay stamped back in from the same immigration office as it was issued? I have since moved to a different province and want to avoid having to return to the old one if not necessary.
