  1. Please ban these obnoxious and cruel American rituals from Thai colleges.

    ...

    Unbelievable. Blame America for this?

Thai Visa...believe it or not. It is incredible, the lack of knowledge displayed by some posters.

To be fair, you might want to blame Hollywood and the export of American Television series.

OR: You might want to blame Thai soap operas !!!!

  2. I'm sure the other Condo Structures that have not collapsed are perfectly safe and sound.  It wouldn't make any sense for the Thai building authorities to inspect those structures, would it?    I for one will be standing in line to buy one of those condos when they are finished.  How about you guys?  A real deal at 4.5 million baht and all the free rice you can eat when your unit falls down. 555

The same owners, contractors, and builders have already finished three others using the same specs and materials.

Am I missing something here? Or should the others be condemned?

  3. The problem of illegal weapons will never be solved as long as it is so easy to smuggle in weapons left, right and center. Beside that, it's a cultural thing, that people think, they need a weapon or that they are incomplete personalitiies without a weapon. Say thank you to the Americans. And as long as there is a policy, that the one with more power can do as he pleases, everybody tries to gain power by having a weapon.

And all that is beside the fact, that some have hidden weapons for the big final countdown between political sides.

You are very welcome Sam !!

  4. Well proclamations are nice, clearly I am in the minority when it comes to understanding the difference between reality and a press release but the Thai judicial system is based on hundreds of years of precedence with a foundation based on Sakdina and one's position in the hierarchy. The legal codifcation of 1805 (Three Seals) is basically made up thousands of scenario, examples on which outcomes could be adjudicated, whereby one's validity was a function of their position in society.

So while proclamation 63/2014 is interesting, it remains challenging to undrstand how a single, simple proclamation can re-jigger a legal system which has existed for a long time, and is tightly knitted into the societal hierarchy.

So----- You believe Rome "WAS" built in one day then!!

  5. The quake has also pushed sediments and sand buried underground to emerge and fill up water wells, causing these water sources to become contaminated. For this reason, the locals are faced with an inadequate supply of drinking water.

Since when has any ground water source been pure enough for consumption anywhere in Thailand?? Remember when in Thailand" Don't drink the water "

  6. Hey stupid.

    This may have helped.

It's obviously a Home-made - locally-made pistol and therefore would have no Safety.

It also looks as though it takes a single Shotgun cartridge, which would probably obliterate the genitalia rather than simply "puncture" them.

    Patrick

I don't know how you and "Wiggy" can believe that gun in the picture is home made. The parts are too close tolerences for a homemade gun. And as for it being a shotshell handgun, that is completely ludicrous.

  7. "Police said they'll charge Sompong with reckless driving resulting in death and fleeing the scene of an accident."

500 baht fine and a slap on the hand of they find him .........

The prison poulation in Thailand is 381/100,000 population and ranked 18th highest in the world.

With all these alleged 500 Baht fines and slaps on the hand being doled out as claimed by many TV'ers, one can't help wonder how the prison population rate got so high.

If not for these alleged 500 Baht fines and slaps on the hand being doled out, maybe Thailand could leapfrog to the number one spot!

  9. So special laws for Indians ?

He was warned like all foregners .

Thai leaders/voters were not arrested ,yet as the Police and government stated it may exacerbate the tensions.

If this guy was so well respected/connected it could not happen ,I hope his supporters have deep pockets.Good riddance to law breakers they only make lifeharder for us who play by the rules, the foreign drug dealers pimps boiler room scammers,if you can't do the time don't do the crime,I am minded the authorities are sufficently corrupt that he'll pay off and shut up if he knows what's good for him ,Lord Buddha was Nepalese and Indians are pretty near the bottom in Thai thinking as anyone familiar with local "nicknames" jek,kek and falang will know..

did we read the same artical??
