I watch TV MUCHO on tv with an Android box.Every weekend i devote about 15 mins.to going through the prime time programs to see if there is anything i wish to record for the coming week, usually about 4 or 5 programs.Last night i settled down to watch "Roadkill" a BBC drama and discovered i had recorded 1 hour previous to what i wanted.Every other program i hoped to record is also 1 hour out.
I was aware that the UK changed its clocks last weekend but i am incredulous that TV MUCHO does not seem to have bothered to align things 1 hour different .I also see from the graphics on MY MEDIA page that everything is 1 hour wrong.I'm surprised that no other tv member has mentioned this so i'm checking if this is connected to my android box, which i remember caused problems initially with the big change over or is this just another balls up by TV MUCHO.
I came accross the same problem, so downloaded it on a torrent, however I opened it last night and it had been corrected and was available to watch.
My membership is due for renewal next month, about 1,650 Baht for the year, I haven't decided what to do yet, without the recording option, which I think is going to be chargable soon, it's not what I signed up to, though I do watch the BBC News a fair bit when I'm at home.
I'm not sure that I really can be bothered to sign up for yet another provider, which would be my forth.

thank you for your advice I want her to come during Christmas for approximately 2 months there will be lots for us to do, if she is allowed to come on a holiday visa this will be just a stepping stone for the next step next year when I start work hopefully and get a more permanent visa.
Just wondering will my disability and my benefits stop anything or is it all down to her part what she can provide
as stated we both have money and I still have 1000 UK pounds per month coming in income
You say you want her to visit for two months, is that what she wants?
If by a more permanent visa you're meaning a visa to settle in the UK, there's no "stepping stone", if she's refused a visit visa, she could still qualify for a Settlement Visa if all the qualifications are met.
As per finances, it's up to her to prove her proposed trip is genuine and affordable, if you're intending to finance the trip then you must show you have the means to do so, whilst having sufficient to live on. If she's paying for her trip then she must provide evidence of her ability to do so.
Where do you live, a lot of the UK is under Covid restrictions, two months is a long time for a visit under those conditions, I suspect the decision maker will take that into consideration.
You're probably aware, but it's worth repeating, it's her that needs to satisfy the ECO of her ties to her home country and that she's factored in the current hoops to jump through to be able to return.

I think there are very few responses to this question because I suspect that most people are aware that it is outside of the remit of Consular staff to make representations to the British government to end frozen pensions, and of course the subject has been done to death elsewhere.
I imagine that there are a number of retired Civil Servants on this forum, most of who were doing pretty mundane jobs and supporting their fellow taxpayers rather than living off them, I doubt that many are on, what you describe as, "fat Government Pensions", apart from myself.- 5

Yes, Thai people can apply to visit the at the moment, there was a short time earlier in the year when applications wre not being accepted, but that's long since passed, even then Thais could still travel to the UK if they already had a visa.
Your friend is probably aware that returning home to Thailand involves jumping through some hoops, and quarantine on return, but many are also doing that.
Do you think it's really wise to travel at the moment though, given the current restrictions in the UK?

Didn't about 3m more Americans vote for Clinton than Trump in 2016, how can that be democratic?

I doubt very much if they will refund the cost of the application fee.
They would probably say that the fee covers the cost of processing her application, that procedure was completed and her visa was issued.
I suspect they would say that there was no restriction on Thai people traveling to the UK, and that many did even during the lockdown and continued to do when self isolation was a requirement for travelers from Thailand.
Their fall back position would probably be that disinclination to travel isn’t grounds for a refund of the fee or for the visa validity to be extended, you could always submit a request.

My wife wanted a copy of her degree from her Uni in Bangkok, which was awarded ten years ago, she went to the Administration office, paid a couple of hundred Baht and collected a copy a few days later.

Good to see the Hua Hin to Udon route is a success, I was looking to book more flights for next year, I note that there is nothing scheduled after late March, maybe they haven’t loaded them yet.

I was at Bangkok immigration to renew my retirement visa , THE MONEY WAS SEASONED > I changed banks the same day. They told me that when you change banks the visa is canceled .I never heard this before(here 20 years) . They also wanted 40000 for overstay from the day I CHANGED BANKS . THE BOTTOM LINE IS I didn't have to pay the 40000 and got my visa after many talks.Did anyone ever have this problem ?I changed banks because I couldn't use the computer at the old bank.I closed the accouunt and went next store to open a new account with another bank 9 months ago. I was suspicous of the 40000 charge (too even )
You've piggy backed onto a thread about Further Leave to Remain in the UK, you're not going to get an answer there.
I'll open a new thread for you, in the appropriate forum

There was quite a big queue, but the real problem was that some travellers had maasive bags and appeared to be over their purchased weight allowance . So had to stand around while they sorted that out
Thanks

Did make the mistake of checking in a bag one way. That added 20 minutes onto the procedure. Won't be doing that again.
Could you elaborate on the checking in on bag problem please? -

Did you use VFS in Bangkok?
Or did you try doing things on your own?
My passport was returned in 4 weeks, submitted on last day of August back in Thailand 4 weeks later.
I think maybe the clue to your question might be in the post from the OP, where he said "VFS supplied the DHL tracking number. It's shown on the VFS receipt"

But is it provided "without charge". or is it "regardless of ability to pay"?
In the first case, you don't get a bill at all. In the latter case, you get treated regardless. But you may be presented with a whopper of an invoice. And they can come after your assets if you don't pay up.
All emergency treatment to anybody is free at the point of delivery, unlike Singapore where my then girlfriend was paying a hefty deposit on her credit card whilst I was being recuscited, ability to pay doesn't come into question.
Follow up treatment is charged in full, and for expats plus 50%, and may be witheld until the bill is paid.- 1

The two Villa supermarkets usually have a range of English sausages, they often have some imported ones but I've found that the locally produced ones are pretty good.
There's a Hua Hin based food delivery company called foodshipthailand based on Soi 112 which has a good range and a website and a place called Euro deli and sausage house which is tucked away further up 102, they have a good range and also an onsite restaurant.

It's worth noting that visitirs to the UK are not charged for NHS coronavirus treatment or for testing via the NHS.

When we were considering moving from Bangkok to Hua Hin we rented an Airbnb for a week on the southern edge of the town, with the intentention of spending the week getting our bearings and trying to find somewhere suitable.
There were plenty on the market then and we actually found a suitable house on the first day, that was two years ago.
As others have said there are loads of rental properties on the market now of all shapes and sizes, it's a renters market at the moment.

When I lived in Bangkok I opened an account with Kasikorn near Sukhumvit 55, I needed no more than a passport showing my current permission to stay.
I subsequently moved to Hua Hin where I opened a second account, again just with a passport.
An example of how things vary from branch to branch or even teller to teller, when my wife and I married I thought it might be a good idea to open a joint account as well, as we lived near the Sukhumvit 55 branch and had an account there, it made sense to open the account there. On this occasion however we were told that I needed a work permit to open the account despite the fact I already had an account there, we were advised that it was a new instruction from the Bank of Thailand. I asked to see a supervisor, who after being briefed by her colleague, confirmed the “new instruction”, I didn’t believe either of them, but there was no point in arguing.
When I got home I emailed Kasikorns head office asking for advice, they apologised and confirmed that there was no such instruction, suggesting that I return to the branch and ask again, the person who replied gave me her direct line and asked that if I was given incorrect advice again, then I could call her and she would put them right.
l would have been more than happy to do so, but my wife wasn’t prepared to let them lose face, we went to Silom where the account was opened without fuss.

Can't thai people still apply for holiday visa to UK , during this Corona crisis Oct 2020
in Visas and migration to other countries

Each application is considered on its own merits, so a refusal wouldn't automatically result in a furture application being refused, unless the decision maker could prove that the first application contained misleading information or that the applicant set out to deceive.
Of course the applicant would need to address the reasons for refusal in any subsequent application.
As I mentioned yesterday the burden of proof differs according the the type of visa.
