It's not a currency card transaction, it's a bank transfer which is different -
An issue with Revolut transfers
Millian replied to Fairynuff's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I do large and small transfers from my Revolut THB currency account to Thai bank accounts nearly ever week and the full amount is always received. When I've done transfers from a different currency account in Revolut then there is usually a few from the receiving bank. But I don't think any where near the amount that was lost here Are you sure you sent thb currency? If you are sure the receiver is not scamming you, then you should contact support to confirm if there should have been fees. -
Debit card hijacked

To pay for what ever goods they purchased. Sounds like they ordered a delivery (if it was thb and not USD) -

Gave them a call, as helpful as they were they could only see the the officer requires those docs and not offer any other help. -
First UK Passport for Thai/English daughter
Millian replied to goldenbrwn1's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
Just turned 3. Yeah bit annoyed this wasn't spotted on application. Although maybe it's not the standard docs and they just want more in this specific instance? Although the wording suggestions not: Unfortunately you did not enclose all necessary supporting documents. -
Maybe a county that has lower than 5 in 1000 traffic-related death rate, compared to countries like Thailand that have a 32 in 1000 rate?

Still looking! Still looking! Thanks for suggestion. Spent quite a lot of time down that way in Pran Buri Yeah we prefer activities rather than just sitting around a pool

First UK Passport for Thai/English daughter
Millian replied to goldenbrwn1's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
I just got a letter from HM Passport Office about missing docs from our application and it sounds like it's proof of address in thier name is needed: This is what we originally supplied: Daughter Birth Certificate Daughter Birth Certificate Copy Daughter Birth Certificate Translation Daughter Birth Certificate Translation Copy Daughters Thai Passport Daughters Thai Passport (every single page) Fathers (mine) Birth Certificate (original long one) Fathers (mine) Birth Certificate Copy Fathers (mine) Passport Fathers (mine) Passport Copy (only stamped pages) Letter showing my name and address in Thailand in English Wife's ID Card Wife's ID Card Copy Wife's Passport Wife's Passport Copy Wife Birth Certificate Wife Birth Certificate Copy Marriage Certificate Marriage Certificate Copy Marriage Certificate Translation Marriage Certificate Translation Copy Wife's change of Forename certificate Wife's change of Forename certificate Copy Wife's change of Forename certificate Translation Wife's change of Forename certificate Translation Copy -
Thanks, but I should have added it the list. Been there, done that!

No don't worry, not taken that way. I also share my experience and list of docs with friends and associates to help them understand what is needed, least with our application. I was just interested in what you thought was unnecessary from my docs, as most people have the exact opposite reaction. I don't agree with that though, they state under the other documents you can provide can show "Evidence of the relationship, if any, between you and your sponsor". It makes no sense not to include one if you are married.
-
Indeed, they specifically list them as things not to provide: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/visitor-visa-guide-to-supporting-documents/guide-to-supporting-documents-visiting-the-uk 13. Documents you should not use as evidence Some types of documents are less useful as evidence in visit applications. These include: bank statements or letters issued more than 1 year before the date of application credit card statements driving licence educational certificates that are not listed as required for your visa evidence of car ownership personal photographs notarial certificates business cards hotel bookings flight bookings (unless transiting) photocopies of bank cards certificates relating to leisure activities, for example sports trophies travel insurance sponsor’s utility bills sponsor’s council tax bills When we first applied for UK visit Visa 10 years ago, some guys at work had a checklist they used to apply for their partners. It was gigantic! They were supplying loads of photos, print outs of text messages between them and partners, email exchanges, phone records, Hotels booking from holidays together in Thailand, flight records, travel insurance receipts, all sorts of stuff. I saw one guy's stack of application documents and it was as thick as book. I went online and started though the process and noted exactly what they asked for and only supplied just that. Told the guys at work what I provided and they sure we wouldn't be successful in our application.

Which documents would you say were unnecessary? (Apart from my original Passport) Letter from Sponsor (me) explaining: Why I'm paying for the trip (Because I earn more than she does) How long we have been together, how long we have been married, when child was born, that we own a house together. Reason for UK visit (friends and family) Very rough itinerary (visiting for approx. 1 month, staying with parents, might go on holiday to the coast - that's as in-depth as it got) Letter from my Dad explaining: He's my Dad Google map link to Address Copy of his Passport Page Marriage certificate Marriage certificate Translation Letter from Sponsor (me) explaining: Why I'm paying for the trip (Because I earn more than she does) Letter from my Dad explaining: Will be providing food and accommodation for majority of our stay [This supports the total amount she gave to spend on the Trip] My work contract (not a Thai company) [This is evidence we We can pay for the trip] My UK current account statement past 6 months (showing salary deposited each month) [This is evidence we We can pay for the trip] My UK Savings account statement past 6 months [This is evidence we We can pay for the trip] Letter from Sponsor (me) explaining: How long we have been together, how long we have been married, when child was born, that we own a house together. My Thai savings account statement past 6 months

The same logic goes for setting up a business then. It's not that simple though. It might already have a MRR from subscriptions, a loyal customer based, might be a well known product within a niche, could have traffic from successful marketing channels, email sub subscribers, etc Simply saying you can start another website and be in the exact same situation as another website is not the case. Where are your customers going to come from?

Just received the Wife's visit visa for UK, so thought it would be useful to list out exactly what we provided: Wife's Passport My Passport My Passport Copy Letter from Sponsor (me) explaining: Why I'm paying for the trip (Because I earn more than she does) How long we have been together, how long we have been married, when child was born, that we own a house together. Reason for UK visit (friends and family) Very rough itinerary (visiting for approx. 1 month, staying with parents, might go on holiday to the coast - that's as in-depth as it got) Letter from my Dad explaining: He's my Dad Will be providing food and accommodation for majority of our stay Google map link to Address Copy of his Passport Page My work contract (not a Thai company) My UK current account statement past 6 months (showing salary deposited each month) My Thai savings account statement past 6 months My UK Savings account statement past 6 months Marriage certificate Marriage certificate Translation That's all we supplied, no other evidence, documents or photos. This is the 3rd UK visit Visa she has had. However, when we applied for the first one 9 years ago we weren't married, didn't own a house nor have a child and supplied almost exactly the same documents. Only difference being that time I was working for Thai company so provided copies of my work Permit and only my Thai Bank statement.

The scenic route to Thep Sathit, Chaiyaphum
Millian replied to Millian's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Any you could share that are suitable for a car? Travel that way quite often to see the in-laws and I don't mind adding 30 mins onto the journey to avoid the flat, featureless monotony of many of the Highways that way. -
If you ever find your self needing to drive to Thep Sathit, Chaiyaphum or that way, there is a really nice alternative scenic route. This route takes you through hills north of Khao Yai and only adds a few minutes to the usual Highway 21 route through Lop Buri, and is so much nicer. I often don't see other cars on the route, let alone any traffic (once you are off Highway 2). Chet Sao Noi National Park is also on the route. Google sometimes shows this as an alternative route (but not always), that's how I found it. It's the route marked as 4 hr 20 below.
