  1. The problem I have when it comes to more money is, what amount would be enough for them to change, 30K 50K 80K ? The older teachers and admin make quite a nice salary along with their gov. perks already. Same goes for the police force. Corruption is so ingrained in the culture here I dont see much change happening in my lifetime whatever the amount of money offered.

  2. Just write a couple of pages on how great the program was in helping the children learn english and how they really enjoyed it, nobody is going to read it or pay attention to it anyway, then go to the meeting sit and smile nod your head a lot and eat the free lunch. Its just part of teaching in thailand and will go a long way in you making connections and getting more work. Its not that difficult to do.

  3. Commonrail engines run biodiesel just fine all it refers to is the fuel line running to the injectors is one piece. The only thing we dont run it in is a new ford f450 we bought last year and thats only because the fuel is pumped thru a high pressure fuel pump that is very sensitive to water. The older models used an oil pump. With a new fuel-water separator, not the crap one ford puts on it, it will be running dollar a gallon fuel. Way too many misconceptions on biodiesel out there. Its all in the quality of the fuel. Another thing if you start running even 5% bio you better get some fuel filters as biodiesel will clean your fuel system like nothing else clogging the filters.

  4. Yeah we are all spineless twits who are not ex royal marines (blow me, Im an ex delta-green beret-cia operative believe me I said it on an internet forum) You dont know anything about teaching in thailand and from your posts in other sections on thai visa quite a blow hard (thought you were a world class driving instructor). To the op get over yourself if you want to survive teaching here in thailand, sorry but you can stand on your soapbox and scream to the world about your morals but no one in thailand cares ! Teach to the kids who you can make a difference to and forget about the rest, you will be much happier.

  5. Whatever cert you decide on I would highly suggest you get it here. If you choose a decent school you will learn a lot about thai culture (ouch) and the infamous thai education system which resembles nothing you have experienced before lol and also hopefully get some actual class time with thai students (god help you). Bangkok, where I have never taught, is much stricter in rules and regulations for teaching but where I live in Issan anything goes (remote outposts have their perks). The pay is 30-35K a month compared to bkk which should be 40k and up but my expenses are lower (sticky rice and chicken feet). Dive in the waters fine, just look out for the rocks.

  6. Aww the gang mentality shows its head lol How can you calculate your farm income with no numbers ? The family farms here I dont throw my money away easily or work for free. But I do have productive farm land in the us, guess what it is rented out to a large farming cooperative who yes can make a profit due to the size of their operations. And they account for every dime made and spent to calculate their profits, its called business.
