she has a good job so she's not at home all time like some ppl assumed. We had a good chat last night and shes promised to stop checking my phone and being jealous and clingy so we will see how it goes. The main concern is she will try to take her own life which one time she did try to jump off the balcony and i had to grab her when i tried to end relationship in the past. Same time i feel why should i be forced into a relationship with someone just to stop them from hurting themself. ALSO whats this that i have to tell the uk i got married? i will never go back to live there and when i did get married i give uk embassy a letter to say ive never been married before

People didn't "assume" they read the title.... Wife refuses to leave apartment is different than wife refuses to move out.

Also check with the Elite Visa Office  !  I talked to a French businessman on of flight a few month ago; The Elite Office in Bangkok is doing the 90 for him. I know he was Elite as he showed me his passport and the ELITE Visa.  No sure if the ELITE Office  can do it for people outside Bangkok area. Maybe some ELITE member on TV can elaborate.

Only in bangkok and you have to book a couple weeks in advance to drop off the passport... and go back and get it. Two short trips instead of a longer one, barely worth it.

  3. In 50 years and hundreds of trips in and out of Thailand- I have never overstayed even 1 day. However, I believe the law is poorly written. If one makes an honest mistake and then is stopped and found to be a few days overstay- your life depends upon convincing the Immigration not to prosecute or then convincing a judge not to blacklist. While the current law is somewhat benign the new law is way to severe. It doesn't matter what Western countries do, Thailand used to be know for its readiness to bend. Let us see how this is actually handled in reality. My instincts tell me money is going to make the difference and that is not how the law should work.

Grey areas are the perfect breading ground for more corruption.

I was late by 1 day once in 15 years because of the massive floods a few years ago. You'd think the immigration officer would understand, but no, he was a real <deleted> about it. So what now? somebody caught in floods is banned if the officer is having a bad day?

People will say no it won't happen but when things are open to interpretation like Thailand's 10 year in jail or/and 10k fine it means you are at he mercy of a uniform. Why not make it 100% clear?

  4. You are TOTALLY wrong with your comment on the repercussions of a US overstay. In my case; an ALLEGED overstay, I have resigned myself to the fact that I will receive an unpleasant 'secondary inspection' every time I arrive in the US in perpetuity. I am also banned from using the visa waiver system; therefore I need a visa for each and every US entry. They are not legally bound to share this overstay evidence with me or my attorney; the onus is on me to prove that I didn't overstay. This dates back to 2002... about 4 passports and several hundred boarding passes ago.

Imagine what the 'TV grumpies' would make of being pulled up each and every time they enter LOS?

Nothing tall or equestrian about it.

So you are not banned and have been able to go back "several hundred" times since then?

Like I said you are not barred if you overstay in the US less than 180 days you get a overstay stamp in your passport meaning the officer at immigration will pull you over. How is that worst than an outright ban?

You also miss understood the TV comment, they aren't complaining it's too hard, they are wishing people with two days overstay get the ban, they would welcome people getting pulled over.

  5. Thai police detain man, tighten security, after Samui car bomb

    AFP

The blast comes a week after Thailand's junta, which seized power last May, replaced martial law with sweeping security powers retaining the military's control including the right to arrest and detain people for crimes such as breaching national security.

It has justified the new measures, widely criticised by the international community, as essential to curb the threat of political unrest, recently blaming anti-coup groups for a series of small bomb attacks in Bangkok earlier this year.

So twice, bombs small enough that they don't hurt Tourism too much, but big enough that you feel you need to be "protected" by the powers above.

Who profits from that crime.... whistling.gif

  6. Not only do I fail to see how this bombing would benefit the red cause. I also have trouble understanding why someone would post about it before hand on Facebook.

Not that logic and caution have a big role in decision making here.

Wait a couple of days and the RTP will call a press conference to reveal.

    1. Red shirt memorabilia and ID cards have been found at the crime scene

    2. The bomb was marked TS

    3. The suspect M Redshirt had implicated three other suspects: N Redshirt, O Redshirt and P Redshirt

Case solved, and elections put on hold for another decade...................

5 days later they will arrest three random guys with Man Utd shirts, cue finger pointing and photo op.

We'll never hear the defense or any detail but live under art. 44 for another decade.

  7. Yeah but...the bangkok bombing reaked of false flag, now again people were getting agitated with recent developments, nothing like another little bomb to get them back on board.

Government spokesperson Maj Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd sure is quick at pointing fingers though whistling.gif

Usual immediate red-shirt denial and immediate blaming of the other side. Your 'false flag' nonsense after the investigation which clearly uncovered a network of people (not the one or two fall-guy patsies we got from Chalerm) would be laughable if it wasn't so disgusting. I bet you said the protestors were blowing themselves up right up until those red-shirts got caught with an M79.

Are you proud to support a terrorist organisation ?.

    Pot - Kettle whistling.gif

Always blame mysterious red shirts paid militias, strangely though when the family has the financial means to investigate this is what happens:

Fabio Polenghi fatally shot by military, inquest finds

"The Southern Bangkok Criminal Court on Wednesday ruled that Italian journalist Fabio Polenghi was killed by a bullet fired by the security forces during the May 19, 2010 dispersal of the red-shirt protestors.

The court said he was hit and killed by a .223 caliber high velocity bullet while he was running away from Ratchadamri road towards Ratchaprasong intersection"

Wearing a journalist armband and shot in the back while running away, so was his colleague.

"Italian's journalist's family fear his army killers will be pardoned"

It wasn't mysterious men in black or evil red shirts but the army, wonder why we never hear about this though, strange isn't it? whistling.gifwhistling.gif

  8. Why would the red shirts go all the way to Samui? They could put such a device in any city car park they could, why not Patong/Pattaya, Hua Hin, Chiang Mai or any other major tourist location ?

Makes no sense to detonate/plant this in Samui. This is another convenient way to justify article 44, the same thing happened after thenBangkok incident incident after trying to justify Martial Law remaining.

There is a strong resentment towards the Junta after the army admitted error in killing the 4 guys in the south, tensions and resentment are running high.

Keep an open mind, people sometimes they only see what they want to see, and literally the red mist descends and clouds their thoughts!!

Precisely, why would Muslims or Redshirts go all the way to samui then detonate a bomb after 22h30? You'd think a group mad as hell would be hell bent on maximum destruction. Unless...

  9. "Panitharn Watanayakkorn, an advisor to Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan, said the authorities have gathered a lot of information and evidences related to the car bomb attack at the Central Samui department store late Friday night..."

The deputy advisor sure works quick....

I have a question though, if the attackers wanted to sabotage peace and order of the country why would they wait 22h30 when the food court and most shops are closed?

  10. Security authorities say the car bomb attack at Central Festival shopping mall in Koh Samui Friday night was believed to be the work of the same group of perpetrators responsible for recent bombings in Bangkok.

  11. Samui and Suratthani is yellow territory.

5 Years anniversary of the 2010 crackdown.

Ah a little too convenient isn't it.... ever heard of false flag?

Late enough, around 22h30 that it doesn't damage too much tourism but big enough that we can sell to those pesky farangs the need for complete power.

  12. Once again many posters, blaming the victim.

She smiled nicely and said hello, so she deserved to be raped.

He was drunk and falling down, so he deserved to get his head kicked in.

They should have stayed at a better hotel, so they deserved to be ripped off .

He walked into the bar, when he shouldn't have ,so he deserved to be shot twice. Once at point blank range as he was crawling out the bar.

    Sickos .

there are probably a few lowlifes supporting this killing and Thailand definately can attract some real scum. Not directed at anyone.

Nobody is saying he deserved to be killed but polot Mehmet better known on Samui as "Ali" has been walking around armed, bragging about his mafia connections for years.

A drunk driver has every chance of ending in a ditch....

It just isn't very surprising news.
