I have just heard from a good friend that his sister in law was on a minivan from Hat Yai to Nakhon Sri Thammarat yesterday (Sunday 28th February) when it crashed off a bridge into a river. Lucky for his sister in law she survived but her friend and 6 others didn"t does anyone have any further infomation or news on this?? I have check "thairath" but my Thai isn't that good.

My sister sent a birthday present for my son last week from Hong Kong, now the postman has turned up saying we need to pay 460 baht tax on the parcel. I have never had this happen before so I don't now the rules on this.

I have been together with my partner for 6 years, she is Thai and we have 2 children. For some reason we never found the time to get married but have always talked about it. We are going back to the UK for 3 weeks in April and wanted to get married over there.

So my question is, what papers does my partner need? what papers do i need? we will be returning to Thailand after our 3 week holiday, so it isn't a plan to extend our stay (not with the weather in Scotland).

Any advice or tips would be great.

Air Asia's prices don't seem that cheap now (Flying from KL to Stansted) and there flights times are crap if you are travelling onwards from Stansted...... I find "moxtravel" the best up to date site for flights and prices.

I have 2 young children and wanted flights to Glasgow for March/April, Qatar, Eithad and Emirates were asking crazy money so I booked Jet Airways to London then BMI up to Glasgow. Total fare 108,000 baht compared to 168,000 that Emirates wanted to Glasgow.....

If you take it to a car tent they will give you cash BUT a lot less cash than you would expect. They normally offer you 20 percent less than the car is worth, quick sale but bad price. Keep trying will the private sale if you want to get a decent price for your car.

Baan Tong Ching!! Nice place if you want peace and quiet and a nice beach BUT they rooms are WAY over priced and you are stuck there..... the nearest shop would be a 15 minute drive or a 1 hour walk...... enjoy.

P.S - No TV or fridge in the rooms.....

so what is the right price for land, or land + house.

Not interested in beach front (nice thai parties all night long), and vey over priced.

just a place a bit out of town, land can be half rai. or a bit less, house quality can be a bit crap as well, single story only.

I think its better to do a place up over time, than build from scratch, way tomuch hassle.

You might get a town house for that price!! If you are wanting a free standing house you will be looking at the 3 million mark upwards. Best bet is to take a trip there and look around, also check the local banks that have house and land for sale.

Not at the moment.....its a case of waiting for the compensation to appear.

Its about money at this point, the fact that the murderers are know, found to be guilty and the situation holds no issue about actually being tried for killing someone is slightly scarey.

I,ll post when something of an outcome is acheived, but it may will take some time.

Crazy that they can just continue their lives without the slightest thought for the person they murdered And what about these kids parents?? They are just as bad as their kids. I hope your family do recieve the compensation, not the result you wanted BUT they still have to pay and hopefully suffer while doing it.
