  1. Well, I've started taking Psyllium Husk (mixed quickly, then drank with cold water). and it has produced results. More bowel movements.

You might also add raw garlic to your diet (mixed with some other food).

Personally, I have discovered CASEIN protein bpowder and found some 4 lbs @ 2,100 B @ Fitwhey. Okay stuff, it fills you up and replaces my dinner now.

Eating half and avoiding carbs for dinner should help when combined with HIIT training - check out www.sixpaclfactory.com 's free videos on fat loss exercises.

    Good luck!

  2. So what's new, OP?

Who doesn't know such a school?

One such school never bothered with any of the requirements. Not B-Visa, not the WP and certainly not with any form of reporting to the Regional Education office supervising them!

    Cui bono? Let's see.

Work contract in English - and a copy of the Thai contract they made people sign on the sly? Nope.

And they love young men from Cameroon. One such guy, if he could take the TOEIC hurdle of a 600 score, that would be a huge surprise. As the guy couldn't handle small talk with the resident helper from the Peace Corps. Both says - they could not even exchange standard pleasantries LOL.

A: I guess the director will owe someone a favor. Can't see him being stripped of his pension or transferred, know what I mean? (Here on TV, there was a case of some "disappeared" Karen activist. And even if the official most likely to have a vendetta against the guy (and he had been seen last with the activist) will be found involved, he won't get 1 day in jail or a pay cut. And we are talking bloody murder here).

What hope does Thai education have if directors are not being held accountable?!?

Well, the law shows extreme bias. 10 k fine for the employer, 100 k fine and deportation to the hapless employee.

  3. When I was advertising for a rural school, I got incredibly qualified teachers who wanted that 30 k B job. Decades in Hong Kong and Korea etc. Alas, they were over 60. But the overriding importance turned out to be the pay, not the age. They hired a guy who never saw the inside of a university for a single day!

    Never underestimate directors' financial interests!

  4. The prison term, however, was commuted to four year probation instead with 48 hours of charity working for one year.

Seriously? No comment Words fail me

She appealed - those 6 days' community work and the driving ban is too harsh, huh?

What about the adult who gave her the car to drive?!?? If I hand a loaded gun to some teenage girl and she shoots somebody, wouldn't I be in trouble, too?

One thing is clear, some farmer's daughter would have no lawyer and no means to appeal. she would be rotting in jail...

  5. Well, stick to your plan and collect the April salary first. I trust Thai HR as far as I can throw an elephant.

Regarding the Visa, just ask for a re-entry T-Visa. That will give you 2 x 60 days and should be good enough.

(Worked for me but they wrote into the Visa stamp that next time I must show financial evidence or something).

Yes, 2 weeks will be fine. Yours truly could go for that 25 k Baht job if no one else will whistling.gif

    Hope all goes well!

  6. Well, I like the opportunities in the US of A. Both real estate and certain high yield (often double digit and not taxes at the corporate level) REITS. NLY for example.

If you manage to buy some mobile homes and fix them up in a month or two, and get a PM, you should be making about 20% in your sleep.

Over here - take real estate. It's a buyer's nightmare, JMHO. what's the return? I've seen 20 M Baht villas for rent @ 40,000 B. How crazy is that?!?

Be careful - and move your money out of EU-Land. Bad things are happening over there... JMHO. Read some articles by Bernard Connolly if you are into economics.

  7. may?!? facepalm.gif Try telling this to your landlord after he filed for eviction. I'm sorry - people's financial future is at stake here. the only news acceptable is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Promises, vague possibilities... What if someone's hopes are up and then he kills himself like others have?

This is so cruel and so unprofessional. And the time is not specified - it could technically be March 2015, couldn't it?!?

Whoever is making such statements deserves the sack!

The Thai taxpayers deserve better administrators as well. What kind of nonsense is this guy spouting?!?

  8. That one hour with them made all the difference. Because they couldn't read & speak with different voices. Have no clue as to recite poetry or acting...

As English teachers, many have no clue as to whether students can handle a script - or not. It's quite scary, really.

make sure those young ones still get the praise and some gifts they deserve!!

  9. Found "Iso 93" 5 lbs for 2,850 Baht shipped at www.musclefoodshop.com while Ultimate Nutrition's own outlet charges 2,999 B (I think). Some other store was @ 3,799 or something. It sure pays to shop around.

This morning, I have a craving for cheese on crackers (both in the refrigerator). And not going to the gym for days lets me feel how the flab spreads on my buttocks, I'm serious. sad.png

    Questions:

is there a low calorie alternative to skimmed milk for such protein drinks?

Am gonna try that protein and buy a month's membership at the condo gym - it sucks big time.

How are you all doing on your way to a slimmer body?

  10. Hi

it was silly to pay some 3,000 Baht for just the shipping of these 2 consoles complete with controllers, memory cards etc.

Is there a place which would buy them? I tried advertizing them for 900 B but would ship them for 600, expecting to pay about 200 B for the parcel.

Last resort would be throwing them in the trash whistling.gif

    Any suggestions?

  11. This is meant to be a serious question, not some attempt at "trolling".

Some students broadcast their weekly affairs on FB. When I first came over, I met some very traditional girls again which I knew from my home country. They would never even kiss some foreigner AFAIK. One girl had to commute back home for hours every day...

Q1: Is there a new trend in young people's behavior?

Q2: Is this typical for 18 years olds - changing partners weekly and posting about intercourse on FB?

Q3: What do the monks teach about these issues?

Just wondering. (As a Christian youth, I was very troubled about sexual urges... Living with my grandmother who held old views. By no means am I trying to diss anyone. And I do respect openness and honesty!

  12. Disclaimer: I haven't ordered yet protein in Thailand. And am disu=gusted with GNC's or Fitness First's prices.

I read good reviews for Ultimate Nutrition's Iso 93 powder. My aim is weight loss and I want to avoid carbs and the other junk many makers put in there. A few days ago, I saw it @ 1,750 B but cannot locate the dealer any more :(

The 10 lbs @ 3,799 B for 10 lbs Prostar Whey seems an okay deal as well. Compare that to the 800 Baht per kg Protein 80 powder some club sells...

Hope someone has better prices for these 2 proteins I am interested in.

    Cheers!

  13. If the condo has experienced no maintenance for 8 years -then it may be in trouble.

If the lifts don't work and a culture of' non payment' by co -owners exists -then it may be worthless.

This assumes that it has a lift.

If it can be rented, it has worth.

    1k5 return on 200k = 10%

Pretty good deal, for not that large a risk.

    I would take a chance.

Nope, not 10% even in an ideal world with no repairs, vacancies or HOA fees. That "culture of non-payment" by Delight is a great point. At my condo, some penthouse owners owe >600,000 B. with some 20% being on the list of non-payers they hang up sporadically but never ever do something like suing or repossessing a unit.

Someone must pay - check it out.

And you need to get some return for the risk and the hassle. Just the showings are a PITA. You don't value your own time? all for 1,500 B a month?!?? Think again!

  14. You get what you pay for, although saying that, if rented all year you would be getting around 8% after any maitenance etc....so not so bad

That's the real deal - and it stinks financially. There will be HOA fees. and if the Thai management is like my condo's, then they have some 20% defaulters on their hands, meaning the good guys paying for the freeloaders.

Stay there an hour during the night. Cooking smells? noise levels? What's your gut reaction?

1,500 gross rent - and the net rent after vacancy, repairs, service calls etc.? 1,000 B? Appreciation likely? why do you think the guy's selling?

But if you buy, drive a hard bargain. Maybe you will get it for a much reduced price?

Are there dogs allowed? At my condo, they used to be banned. but with tenants come the souped up cars and morons red-lining cold engines and yapping dogs - often all alone on the balcony.

Noise pollution would kill the deal for me! One noisy dog next door and no tenant will put up with that.

    Be careful

  15. For what it is worth, here is what I did.

High pitched concrete tile roof, reflective paper under the tiles, rendered brick walls, roof overhangs walls for inc.shade and top quality ceiling insulation.

When you walk inside my home from the shade of the entry balcony you can instantly feel the temperature difference.

Good ventilation of the living areas, combined with good fans mean I never use the aircon except in the bedroom.

Sent from my GT-P7500 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Well, I'm not sure about what to do under the tiles as my main concern is reflecting most of the IR rays away from the roof.

Am looking at different coatings. One nano coating claims 95% reflection, a dubious claim? Ti Ox pigments are still around 87%. Just asking as I would hate to fall for some marketing ploy like in the U.S. food manufacturers are allowed to sell stuff as "sugar / fat free" which sure as hell is not!

    www.greennio.com/en/product.php?productId=16

A real drop in temperature of 3 degrees Celsius would make a difference!
