  1. Man, if you for real. You never had a woman before. Nver dated. Never kissed. Never got drunk and never smoked. Please don't fall in love with some Thai bint in cyberspace.

Find a local girl where you live. She doesn't have to be anything special. Try the local cusine before you start bringing in take-aways from other countries. Use your noddle. Think with the big head, not the little one.

I hate to agree with Geekfreaklover, but he has a point. It seems fishy to me that a Thai girl would use an internet dating service to meet a falang. Specially at the age of 25. It's very rare that anyone ends up happily with their first love.

There are scads of Thai girls 18 to 25 on internet dating websites looking for Farangs. Just take a look. Agreed first love can be tricky, but not always. Sometimes it's the best.

Yes but most of those girls are lying about their age, have photoshopped their pictures and have at least a few relationships behind them.

I can still pass for 25, although a bit older, and have met a few internet dating girls from the aforementioned age group. All were quite willing to go to bed on the first night. This indicates to me that have been willing to go to bed on a first date with others before.

    Excercise caution.

Thailand is a long way to go to find out about the complexities of romance, love and how male and females interact together. Find a Fin girl first be my advice. Take it or leave it.

I sense the OP will be a lamb to the slaughter out here in the land of smiles.

I agree, plus the one and only actual real romance in Thailand is in these over-sweetened, over-acted neverending soap series on tv .............

  2. Reminds me of this toddler I knew on Samui. When we were on the beach having some food and enjoying music. The mother told him it was okay to swim: wai nam. So he wnet to the water with me and his dad and actually wai-ed to the ocean, was pretty cute and funny ....

  3. One of my afternoon students in language school is a nurse at Chiang Rai General Hospital. She said that they were treating 10 cases of Swine flu in Chiang Rai (I stress this is unconfirmed). One of the patients was a student fron Samakee School. Yesterday there was something of a panic when many fellow students descended on the hospital.

It is not necessary to go to the doctor unless there are complications, I think the Thais will not pay heed to this advice as they head for the doc at the first sniffle or twinge. Recently my 12 year old stepson said he had stomachache and within a few minutes Mrs. Lman whisked him off to the doc to be filled with pills. The mind boggles to think what they will do when the flu strikes.

The nurse handed a bottle of disinfectant handwash around the class! and one girl insisted on not sitting nearer than 2 meters from anyone else!

For swine flu - just get a bottle of Paracetamol in and stay home if and when it hits.

My daughter told me already, she said it was because some students went to see a concert in Bangkok or Phuket or somewhere (forgot where but place is irrelevant) and came back with the 2009-flu

  4. My girlfriend loves this cooking show in Australia called "Masterchef", we`d watch episodes we miss online, the other day I come home from work and going through my browsing history I see www.mattersief.com.....I found it so cute! lol!!

    That is cute indeed.

I just remebered there is (or was) a show on the Thai television about visiting the houses of Thai celebrities (sort of similar to the MTV show called cribs I guess) called: "the big cock" ... in Thai they use the expression cock-cock-cock when knocking on a door ......

  5. That's why it's better to just come out and say it "I wanna bang you". No need for bs, sweet talk, holding hands and so on.

About 60 years ago I read the results of a survey carried out in London. It was stated that if a reasonable looking guy stood on a corner of Oxford Street and asked every woman if they would shag him for £10 then two out of every ten would agree. I don't know what this means, but I have never forgotten it.

My memory tells me that £10 was then the average monthly wage.

Similar thing was on tv in Holland. A tv-show host just went to the local shopping area asking every woman in the camera if she would have sex with him (he was just a regular guy, not that handsome) and many actually wanted to sleep with him.

  6. There is a mistake in your topic title:

Why Are Westerners (men) So Focused On Sex?

    This is the correct one:

Why Are men So Focused On Sex?

Oh and on-topic: I met more Thai man cheating and flirting with other women than I did back home. So I guess if you lock it up and are not open about the subject, men probably cross the line easier to get some!

  7. Tired of reading and hearing about the stressful and disturbing events that farangs experience everyday here in Thailand so I thought that we should share moments and events which bring a smile to our face and laughter in our hearts. I'll start by sharing some things that brighten my day.

    • Children playing
    • Parents or grandparents sharing tender moments with their child or grandchild
    • Children practicing their english as they see you and then giving you a big grin and giggle

There are more but these come to mind at the moment. Put a :) on.

Where to start there are so many things, okay here are a couple:

    - Beautiful women

    - Naked women

    - Naked beautiful women

    - Women

  8. Hello and welcome to TV at first! :)

My only advice for you is: Let her come to Finland, don't go to Thailand.

The reason for that is: social security and work is much easier in Finland, so is that it is an modernized country.

It's good to hear your Thai girl took her own effort to get there!

I would actually disagree. Go to Thailand!!! If you want to understand your lady, understand Thailand first. So go there and check it out, if you've survived that you are probably okay, lol. It is important for you and for her that you'll understand the culture, background, lifestyle ect.

Ohw and of course I am happy for you guys but I never believed in the internet relations. You've been chatting for 2 years but you've seen her in real life for about 2 weeks. So in my opinion you only know her for 2 weeks.

  10. I know aspects of this topic have been covered before, but I was wondering if anyone out there has ever decided NOT to have a mixed race (thai/farang) kid for whatever reason? I'm still in my early twenties and having kids is a far-off goal, but thinking about it has seriously made me think about whether it's moral for me to keep staying in a relationship with a gf I'd never want kids with. I know this sounds trite, but one of the main things I'd worry about is that my kid would be short... I'm average height (5'10'') but with the gf, I don't think he (if) would ever be over 5'7'' If the kid has other problems, being short could seriously mess him up. Also, I'm worried he'll have jet black hair or eyes, despite the fact I've heard that half asian kids can be blonde (like their father, me). If he were to ever live in the US, I wouldn't want him characterized with Mexicans, Mediterraneans, or other Asians for his complexion- it's racist I know, but it's a reality that people discriminate in the US. So what do people think? Do are mixed kids looked on as handsome in your home countries, am I overthinking it?

All I wanna add is: if you worry about appearance, you are worrying about the wrong stuff. First you should worry if it will be a healthy kid and before even having a kid you should worry if you can handle it all and if you are able to raise a kid. Worrying about appearance is for insecure people and the low life society like you said in one of your own posts ....

And to answer your last question: yes, you are overthinking it!

PS this is my half-Thai half-Dutch son named Jonah:

  11. you've all seen them on menus etc. just share them here in this topic! These are a couple I still remember:

    - 8 years ago on Koh Phangan I saw a small pharmacy with a big sign outside saying: "first AIDS" instead of first AID!

    - on Samui I saw a Thai woman named "Nut" (similar sound as in "good" or "food") opening a small massage shop which said on the window: "nut massage", I guess she had a lot of male customers, lol.

    - in a menu I once saw: "crap dip" instead of "crab dip"

    - the most puzzling one in a menu was: "fired swamp" which turned out to be "fried shrimp"

    - and a local minimart in Kanchanaburi had a terrific sign saying: "buy 2 get one 1" (probably forgot to add "for free" hahaha)

hope u guys can share some!!!

  12. Did you manage to buy a condo in Chiang Rai then. I am looking to purchase myself at the CR Condotel. prices vary from 370,000 to 1,450,000 baht. Just wondered how you got on, and if living there how is it?

For that price you can almost build your own house with 3 bed, 2 bath, kitchen, carpark, study, living, dining 2 terraces on 850 m2 land ...... well at least I did!!!

All I am saying is, stay open for all options! Don't look only at Condos, look at everything: second hand houses, regular apartments, built your own etc. and see what is best. Also chekc the rental option, lease option, purchasing through a company option etc.

  13. I am coming out of a divorce and really feel like Thailand is a place where a man can plant his feet and make a life for himself. Do you agree? Please share your experience on such.

though you have to find the right spot in Thailand to rebuild.

If you burn your bridges now you end up digging a tunnel back home ..... (not sure what I mean by that, it sounded like the right response .......)

  14. Personally I think people who pay for sex, can't get a decent girlfriend with their own capabilities, the obviously failed in their own society.

Or they just have the money and take the easy way where there are no (or not too many) emotions involved in the "relationship"

  15. Its not far, just depends on how u get there and what time. U can get there from the MRT to MRT stop Sukhumvit, that stop is attached to the BTS. So hop onto the BTS and go down 1 stop to Phrom Phong. Or just tell any taxi driver "Emporium/Benjasiri Park/Queens Park" any one of those. The park is on the right side of the Emporium mall. So total time for u would probably be 10-20 min. Take a taxi during no traffic times and 10 mins. Traffic times do the MRT/BTS thing and its 20 min.

Thanks again!!! You play there yourself? If so I'll send u a message when I'm down there ......
