Thanks for this. I contacted my VPN ( Lamnia) and they suggested installing 'Pearport VPN (www.pearworks.com/pages/software.html) This is supposed to automatically reconnect you if the line drops. I'll try it out for a few days and report back. I've had the problem for several months and if this works I'll be over the moon (Oops it's almost a black moon tonight!!)

Check your DNS settings and see if they have been modified by the malware. Depending on the technique used by the malware this might or might not work.

Recently, my primary and secondary DNS have been changed. Funny thing is that my secondary DNS has 4 digits number instead of 10...please see attachment.
Has my DNS been modified by some malware?

I have TOT and this disconnection problems went on for more than a week. I called TOT call centre almost everyday, the Staff just record our complaints...but nothing happen till todate. The only change, I noticed my secondary DNS was changed to 4 digits (i.e. 8.8.8.8) instead of 10 digits.
Anyone can explain why 4 digits only?

I have been complaining to TOT call centre whole of last week regarding frequent (every 10 mins) disconnection. Till todate, they are unable to give me a positive answer.
Yesterday, when using the internet, whenever I logged on to a new wedsite, a TOT Web Portal Notice appear on my screen 'invalid modem login'. However, when I redo my setup, it went back to normal again.
I would also wish to know where to go if this problems continue...
Btw, I live in korat.

Correct, every ATM machine has a built in camera that activate when in used. I would suggest that you make a police report about the incident and file an official complain (attach with the Police Report) to the bank that you opened an account. Voila! you will see how fast they work on your case....
Hmmmm let me see. What happens if the girl is using a spare card provided by the account holder. It's my understanding account holders are the only ones allowed under bank rules to use the card.
Do you really want to have the girl arrested for illegal use of the card and the bank refuse to credit the account holders account as he allowed someone else to use his card?

I have been doing this (submission of TM 30 NOTICE FROM HOUSE-MASTER, OWNER OR THE POSSESSOR OF THE RESIDENCE WHERE ALIEN HAS STAYED) whenever I do a visa run to Singapore and back to Thailand. This exercise went on for more than a year.
However, many thanks to members of TV who had contributed many infos into this forum, I have manage to obtain and happily collected my Certificate of Residence from Chok Chai immigration office this morning.
Out of curiousity, my gf asked the officer at the reception counter whether she is require to submit TM 30 again, since I have a certificate of residence. The answer was "YES"
My gf was shocked and asked again...So What is a Certificate of Residence? Answer : A Certificate of Residence is for foreigner to apply for a Thai driving license, buy motorcycle, car or opening of bank account in thailand...
whereas, TM 30 is for the owner to report that an "alien" has stayed in her house. Would any knowledgeable member enlighten me on this?

Thai ISP's are doing everything they can to limit torrent speeds from known public trackers without pissing off users too much.
Public trackers are notorious for users limiting their upload speeds, so it is quite likely you will connect to peers who only serve up 1 or 2 KB/s.
Some ISP's use a caching solution to try and serve you torrents quickly with the use of only local bandwidth. The problem is that they can not keep up with the number of torrents and the sheer bandwidth demands.
TOT generally speaking is the worst ISP together with Maxnet. If you have choices, use another ISP.
There is nothing you can do by yourself to improve the speed. I suggest contacting www.tci.or.th (tel: 02-634-6000) and asking if they can assist.
Can you suggest which ISP to use?

The past few days my torrents have gone weird: only 2 or so downloads at a time are coming in, sometimes reaching 50 kb/s.
It happened weekend before last as well, then some time, I think during the overnight last Monday, things suddenly popped and started flowing again. I wonder if ISPs put a cap on torrent traffic.

I was told that my address with Kbank should be the same address when I signed-up with AirAsia. Apparently, I just realised that my address with KBank was written in thai language whereas the address with AirAsia is in English. In view of this, I try to update my profile address in thai language but was prompted with the follow :-
Please avoid the use of non-standard ascii characters, such as:{} [] <> ! ^ | '
Please enter corrected information.
Hence, I could not update my profile despite repeated attempts. Where did I go wrong?

Use a VPN proxy and you should have things loading and working fine.
True always tries to say that the "problem exists at my PC", and they go silent when I say that when I use a VPN proxy everything loads fine.

The legal requirement is for the applicant to be the holder of a Non-Immigrant visa and to have a residential address confirmed by his Embassy or Immigration.
That is what I had to show when I got my car & motorbike licences at Nang Rong less than 2 weeks ago. I got the residence certificate from Chok Chai Immigration Office.
Did you have to pay bt500 for that. Someone on another forum is saying that he had to pay bt500 + bt50 for postage as they had to apply to BKK for it?

Yes, I had to pay 500 baht. I took my application form to Chok Chai, who then faxed it to BKK. I picked the residence certificate up the next day.
I submitted my application (together with 500 bahts) this monring at Chok Chai without any hassle, the lady told me that I could collect the certificate of residence anytime tomorrow monrning.

I have TOT.
For the passed 1 week, internet keeps dropping out for a few mins at a time and this happened the whole day. I have called 1177 call centre, the technician came to my house and the first thing he did checked ADSL speed. I told him that my complaints was not about the speed but the connection kept dropping.
