  1. You guys totally miss the point, I could not care less about the racist thing.. The reason why I dont like to be referred to as a farang is, I simply do not want be associated with some of the rude brits and russians. When a thai says, farangs are fat, rude, and like fotboll, I want to say, no, thats british people, not me

I want to reply properly to this post but I am currently dumbfounded by your stupidity.

Regarding the topic of the word "Farang"; it is just a word to describe certain foreigners, if you are offended then it is entirely your own fault.

Infact being offended by anything at all is entirely your own fault, it is not just restricted to the word "Farang".

  2. To be honest, if I was in her position I would want to move to America for a "better" life too. She still likes you but if you are making her choose between you or her career then it is entirely your own fault for being selfish.

*Edit. Upon reading the whole thread, I'm glad you are breaking up because you sound like a right one.

  3. It depends really, if you are just hanging out with each other for company, then you don't need to mention it.

If however she wants to progress the relationship then it is probably best if you mention it, or atleast ask the question if she wants children or not and gauge it from there.

  4. Definitely, it is not exclusive to Thialand, it happens all over just in differeint guises, and I don't agree with that.

I remember I was in Manchester for a footy match and i'd just bought some food from one of the outside vendors, waiting on my food I noticed the guy that took my order try to charge some asian guy that spoke little english about £1 more than I just payed for a Hot dog. It was expensive already with it being at a match but the guy was trying to take the piss even more out of someone that didn't know any better, I spoke to the vendor guy told him to sort it out and he apologised to the guy he tried to fleece saying he made an error, and charged him the correct, but still overpriced amount.

    I just find it disgusting.

  5. It does not stop me from visiting the country, but it does stop me from visiting some places that inflate the price tremendously. There are plenty of things to do and places to go in Thailand that don't try to rip you off, the places that do are in the minority.

From an individual business standpoint, it may be beneficial to fleece foreigners depending on if it increases their overall earnings.

I would say foreigners should not pay higher prices as there is no fair way to suggest that they should. It is discrimination, simple as that.

  6. It does not matter if tourists pay taxes or not, they are still helping the economy by being there. By discriminating against them it is not exactly looking at the bigger picture now is it, it is simply short term gain, sometimes not even that if the tourist walks away.

If the tourists would disappear from Thailand, the country would still do well.

We foreigners like to think we play a very important role in keeping the country afloat.

    But we dont.

We only contribute to the total, and not as much as some of us love to think.

It does not matter if tourism helps a little, or alot. The fact is tourism helps Thailand, as it does anywhere else. To try to deny it is nonsensical.

Stating that Thailand would do well without Tourism, however much truth that holds, is not the issue here, and your other points are just pulled out of thin air.

  7. Yoshi i'm a really nice thai lady, i'm 23, I like Japanese men because they treat me good.

I have my own hairdressing business, but times are hard, not many customer and I can't survive on 10,000 baht a month.

I live in small room with 7 people, very uncomfortable, but cheap rent!

I'm a genuine person and I only want 30,000 baht a month, that is 10,000 baht less than the other woman who I think was money grabber!

Please reply, I love you :)

  9. Don't burn your bridges to your life in the UK. I would not recommend selling up in the UK and moving to Thailand.

Keep your House if you can, and maybe Try living in Thailand for a while to see if it is for you, it is not all faeries, unicorns and rainbows.

Living like you do in the UK will cost you the same in Thailand, if you want to save money be prepared to live a lesser life than you did in the UK.

Working in Thailand will not earn you the same money as back home, and can be a right hassle just trying to get work.

Be prepared for anything you own in Thailand to not actually be yours as a foreigner.

Sounds quite negative, but there is alot to think about, probably not worth it, not to mention the language barrier unless you learn to speak Thai.

  10. A lot of venom in this thread. He was only making a light hearted joke to imply that he did not want to meet up to bum you.

  11. You are probably right, you do sound like a "plonker" when you speak Tinglish, however you will only sound like this to others who speak english, and that is irrelevant.

If the person you are speaking to is not that good at English then I will adjust how I speak to benefit them, whether I speak slower or even adjusting as far as speaking Tinglish.

I speak Thai a little, and I would hope that any Thai person that spoke to me in Thai would adjust the way they speak to help me understand too, even going as far as using Enghai hahaha.

Regarding the argument that you should speak properly to help the Thai person speak English, that is good in theory, however I don't want to give an English lesson to every Thai person I speak to, you would come off as more of a "plonker", or for a better word a "wanke_r" if you did this. Picking apart the way they speak, it is a bit patronising really.

  12. When I was driving in Thailand at night in Nongbualumphu I noticed some people would drive without their lights on, even motorcycles. I asked my mate why and she told me it was so the bad spirits couldn't find them.

The spirits will find them quicker that way when they crash haha.

  13. Mate, If I were you I wouldn't give them a penny, let them be mad. You wouldn't give your money to any other arsehol_e just to keep them happy would you?

Your girlfriend should support your decision. If not, well then seriously mate, it is not worth the hastle and money you will have to waste on a fake relationship.

Life is too short to be filled with unnecessary drama.

  14. I think my wife says good things about me when talking to her friends, such as:

"He is so handsome, and has a sexual body"

"He is such a good lover, it was hard to come to work this morning"

"He has a massive face because he paid 1 million baht sin sot"

"I would be surprised if he could not walk on water"

"He can speak Thai a little, but what he can speak, he speaks it the best."

along with other things along those lines......

    I brought to the marriage:

    A great husband,

    A great father,

    Love, care and understanding,

    Warmth, comfort and security,

    Great conversation.

On a final note, all I really wanted was a bedmate and a maid, but I found so much more.

  15. Thai women love me because i'm rather large, or "fat" if you will. It is because they think I must be rich if I can get this big. Fat = great hit with the ladies, get a burger or two up you, you skinny cry babies, and you might see some action.

P.s. if you have a good body Thai women see it as a weakness because you spend more time at the gym than making money. You are doing it wrong.
