  1. If every battery you ran the test on gave the same result, I would say that they have a defect in their software.

If every battery you ran the test on gave the same result, I would say that they have a defect in their software.

Maybe they have 4 and 3 cell batteries and on a 3 cell it just shows zero for the not existing one?

    (just an idea)

What I cannot understand is why the HP Support Tech could not explain the 0mVolts on Cell 1. However, I am awaiting a reply again / if they do!!!
  2. Little Ralphy on Maths

A teacher asks her class, 'If there are 5 birds sitting on a fence and you shoot one of them, how many will be left?'

    She calls on little Ralphy.

He replies, 'None, they will all fly away with the first gunshot.'

The teacher replies, 'The correct answer is 4, but I like your thinking..'

Then little RALPHY says, 'I have a question for YOU.

There are 3 women sitting on a bench having ice cream:

One is delicately licking the sides of the triple scoop of ice cream.

The second is gobbling down the top and sucking the cone.

The third is biting off the top of the ice cream.

    Which one is married?'

The teacher, blushing a great deal, replied, 'Well, I suppose the one that's gobbled down the top and sucked the cone.'

To which Little RALPHY replied, 'The correct answer is 'the one with the wedding ring on,' but I like your thinking.'

Little Ralphy on Maths (Part 2)

Little RALPHY returns from school and says he got an F in arithmetic.

    'Why?' asks the father?

'The teacher asked 'How much is 2x3,'' I said '6', replies RALPHY.

'But that's right!' says his dad.

'Yeah, but then she asked me 'How much is 3x2?''

'What's the f***ing difference?' asks the father.

    'That's what I said!'

    Little Ralphy on English

Little RALPHY goes to school, and the teacher says, 'Today we are going to learn multi-syllable words, class. Does anybody have an example of a multi-syllable word?'

    RALPHY says 'Mas-tur-bate..'

Miss Rogers smiles and says, 'Wow, little RALPHY, that's a mouthful.'

Little RALPHY says... 'No, Miss Rogers, you're thinking of a blowjob.'

Little Ralphy on Grammar (Part 2)

One day, during lessons on proper grammar, the teacher asked for a show of hands from those who could use the word 'beautiful' in the same sentence twice.

First, she called on little Suzie, who responded with, 'My father bought my mother a beautiful dress and she looked beautiful in it.'

'Very good, Suzie,' replied the teacher. She then called on little Michael.

'My mummy planned a beautiful banquet and it turned out beautifully.'

She said, 'Excellent, Michael!' Then the teacher reluctantly called on little RALPHY.

'Last night at the dinner table, my sister told my father that she was pregnant, and he said 'Beautiful, just f****ing beautiful!''

    Little Ralphy on Getting Older

Little RALPHY was sitting on a park bench munching on one candy bar after another.

After the 6th one a man on the bench across from him said, 'Son, you know eating all that candy isn't good for you. It will give you acne, rot your teeth, and make you fat.'

Little RALPHY replied, 'My grandfather lived to be 107 years old.'

The man asked, 'Did your grandfather eat 6 candy bars at a time?'

Little RALPHY answered, 'No, he minded his own f****ing business.

  3. post-75187-0-53856200-1338445322_thumb.j

    I purchased a HP ProBook 4530s in March 2012.

After installing the OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 & the software

I ran the HP Battery Check Utility Software and came in for a surprise.

The results showed that the Cell 1 was 0mV - but it gave a 'pass' status for the battery.

I contacted HP and received another new battery on warranty.

But the software came out with the same result! Cell 1: 0mV

I emailed HP via their website. The Tech replied that if the software gives a 'pass' then the battery is good!

So according to HP, a battery having 4 cells with 1 defective cell it is ok (obviously the battery running time is reduced).

The interesting fact is that I ran this test on 7 (yes, seven) more HP EliteBook 6930p and the result was the same - Cell 1: 0mV

(I am awaiting a reply from HP for my reply to their Tech's suggestion)

    Any suggestions or comments?

  4. The best deal in Thailand that I know is at Watsons. 200 capsules for 550 baht last time I bought, but they always have it on special.

The fish oil comes from Norway but packaged here. I really don't know how anyone could vouch for any particular brand (how could you possibly test which is best) and I doubt the Seven Seas brand is any different than the rest although it certainly is expensive. Nearly 10 GBP for 60 caps. eBay price $12.26. Shipping $10 for one bottle and $2 each for additional bottle.

Thank you tropo for the info. Guess I will try something local. Sevenseas had existed in this part on the world so long that it's kind of 'stuck' in my mind!

  5. Yes, as said Belkin products do work, some of the Thai "protectors" have 3 pin sockets and 2 core cable.

Not being picky but the link posted by ravip is to a Belkin India site, max warranty payout 100,000 Rs, would this warranty actually apply to Belkin in Thailand ?. Have not searched for Thai Belkin though.

"posted by ravip is to a Belkin India site" - very valid point, which I myself did not realise!

The Laser 128 EX is the successor of the Laser 3000. Like the 3000, it is fully compatible with the Apple II computer, but has enhanced features.

Video Technology designed its own Apple II compatible ROM (Apple lost a lawsuit challenging it), this ROM holds an Applesoft compatible version of the BASIC.

The "Open Apple" and "Closed Apple" keys have been replaced with "Open Triangle" and "Closed Triangle" keys.

  7. I came across this product and was quite impressed with the warranty stated.

    http://www.belkin.co...oduct_Id=481734

    Connected Equipment Warranty

We will repair or replace any equipment damaged by a surge, spike, or lightning strike while properly connected to our surge protector, up to the maximum value stated on the front of the package. See complete warranty inside for full details, limitations, and exclusions

Could be a super lifesaver for electronics during a tropical storm if it works as stated.

Has anyone first hand experience with this product?

    Any advice?

    Thank you.

  8. What is the flight number/date/time? Let's ask Air Asia for an explanation about their services. That is the best way to treat these hooligans.

I didn't catch the original reference to hooligans. I thought he was disappointed with service; I didn't think he encountered unruly o r violent behaviour.

I would strongly recommend that people who don't like Air Asia use other carriers, to minimise the risk of overbooking for me, and to maintain other options, should my needs change.

    SC

Did not the flight attendants show arrogance in their behaviour?

It is not an issue with 'people who dont like AA' - it is the attitude of the staff towards their pax.

  9. What is the flight number/date/time? Let's ask Air Asia for an explanation about their services. That is the best way to treat these hooligans.

Are you replying to a quote or OP or what, sorry don't get your drift !?

Yes, the OP should report this incident to Air Asia quoting the flight number/date/time - publicity of this nature any airline would avoid and will take some action, I am sure.

Sorry, for not been clear in the first instance.

  10. I really would not blame the restaurant owner, in that sense.

its generally known as EXPLOITATION and if hes operating a uk restaurant ,i dont know how anyone couldnt blame him for

not paying the uk minimum wage at the least

I do not want to get into an argument with you on this.

Thank you to read my post in full.

Why smack the small fish and enjoy the hand-outs from the big ones?

"hes operating a uk restaurant" is NOT the important factor.

I repeat, I dont condone exploitation of anyone by ANYONE.

    Have a nice day!

    EXPLOITATION it is!

  11. I am not surprised. This is happening Globally. Salaries and benefits are 'tagged' on to the nationality. I could quote numerous instances where this is happening Internationally among so called 'reputed' organisations.

I guess nothing can be done about it - it is just 'another one of those things' that is incorrect - but correct! Would be very interesting to know if there is ANY law agency that could address this issue globally.

I really would not blame the restaurant owner, in that sense.

That does not mean that I condone this type of act in anyway.

  12. Just bought a HP ProBook 4530s (QG688PA#UUF) with Intel® Core™ i5-2430M (2.40 GHz, 3 MB L3 cache) and added more RAM to make it 8GB. Comes with 1 year warranty but got a HP Care Pack to make it a total of 3 years (additional US$ 121.456).

  14. It just annoys me that people get away with this.....when so many of us have to bend over backwards to live a legitimate life and keep our papers in order.

This attitude has no place in Thailand IMHO. Do you constantly walk around pissed off, thinking "Why is that guy not wearing a crash helmet?", "Why is that store selling alcohol during prohibited hours?", "Why is this shop willing waive VAT"...

If you wanted Big Brother nanny state constantly crawling up everyone's ass...might be best to board a plane.

You have chosen the security of doing things the right way; others haven't... you made your choice, they made theirs.

No need to be so flippant. The guy has a point the Russians are running ragged the immigration and business laws. I see it daily in Pattaya, but nothing will happen because as we all know. Money talks!

In this planet Money Talks - there is no doubt about it!

Did I hear someone say 'every man has his price'?

  15. I ain't no medical professional or health expert.

But as with all equipment we buy, there is a certain amount of tolerances the user should be aware of. Condemning a piece of any equipment across the board should be well thought of - but not for the simple reason that a certain piece of equipment malfunctioned.

As with any test or other equipment, the user should be very familiar with the operation and the limits of his equipment. If not, it really would be useless.

    For example, some

body fat analysers uses bioelectrical impedance to measure your body fat versus lean body weight. You grip this unit and it sends a mild electrical current through your hands to do the measurement. You must input your gender, age and weight for it to calculate body fat percentage and weight of body fat and body mass index (BMI).

The results of these machines will depend on various parameters like the 'tightness' of your grip, the food you have ingested, dehydration, alcohol, etc. Hence you should read the manual thoroughly and must be consistent in when you measure to get good readings.

And of course when you use it as a guide to your health program, it would be better to have one rather than not.

This of course is my humble opinion.

    Some reviews for an example...

    http://reviews.walma...ews/reviews.htm

    It sounds like you're rep.

Trust me, I can grip it as hard or soft as I like. I can eat anything and everything and drink lots or dehydrate myself. The device NEVER gives a "good" reading. In fact the reading is about 10% low. Yes, I read the manual and know exactly how to use it.

If you're a person with close to "normal" percentages of bodyfat it may give you a sensible reading. If you're athletic and carry more than the "normal" amount of muscle, the device is a waste of money. BMI readings are always meaningless and I can't believe anyone actually uses them.

Some of the reviewers claim the result is accurate. How would the ascertain that? I can understand that if the device gives them a very result they may be very pleased with it.

If you'd like to purchase this from me, pm me I'll give you a good price.

Definitely not - I am NOT a rep or have any interests in Omron!

I quoted Omron in my example because it was a well known brand.

However, I have copied some of these comments to 'Omron' and asked for their views - lets wait and see what their explanation is.

    Interesting...
