  1. I have a theory.

All Thais drive motorbikes for many years before they end up driving a car.

When they start driving a car, they drive it the same way they did a motorbike.

    This^^^^^^

The problem is that in the western world, we were introduced cars and learnt to drive as teenagers.

Most of the old Thai's would have only been introduced to the car maybe 30 years ago, if that.

It's a completely turnaround from a ox and cart.

  2. So the only result of the work at the Circle was to get rid of the fountain and make people have to do that ridiculous U-turn thing if coming out of the pier road? TiT

It's not just the pier road. At peak times (morning and late afternoon) from Patak road (from Kata) we must turn left into Chao Fa West for 100m and do a dangerous U-turn BACK to the roundabout, then make the left turn into Chao Fa East. Really stupid

The roundabout debacle is stupid but you can't take away the tea money for the chalong police, can you?

What happened to the removal of the roundabout and using the lights?

That circle is too lucrative to the traffic police to do that.

I always greet them with "Sawasdee baht" and depart with "Kob khun baht"

    They are typically unamused.

  3. This is not a scam.

Josh's father died 15 years ago and his mother rents a house in which she cares for her 90 year old mother who suffers from dementia.

Please stop, whoever you are; if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all.

    Which hospital is he located?

I would like to donate to his hospital bills but would feel more comfortable doing it in person.

Do you have a rough idea how much the bill to date?

  4. Is Josh the boozetooyoo owner?

I got a call from them claiming there boss had a accident and had difficulty remembering and a fundraiser was being put together.

    Same guy?

How can i make a donation?

It is important to help someone in need.

  5. Make sure you check the used by dates on ALL the products in villa markets.

From my experience from the Bangkok stores, some foods are out of date and most foods are very close to the used by dates.

I purchased a box of weetbix (Australian ones) and it was infested with bugs, 1000's of them.

It is disgraceful because it is so dam_n expensive.

I am not holding my breath that things have changed but since it is opening here in Phuket, i will give it another go.

  6. If you're a millionaire and living in Thailand dont tell everyone that you're rich .

Keep a low profile, dont buy a Porsche , just act normal and keep your money in the bank.

Its very simple rules but some guys never learn , being a young and wealthy farang in a country like Thailand spells trouble to me....

    I disagree.

Driving a Porsche and being a millionaire won't get you killed here, what can they get off you? a few thousand baht in your pocket and a car that is easy to identify..

Only a desperate junkie would do that.

This guy was not shot then robbed, it was a execution murder.

It comes down to doing business in Thailand, there is no protection and farangs are easy targets.

It's simple, DON"T DO BUSINESS IN THAILAND AT ALL

  7. I've been wanting one of these for years, and have never seen one out here at ANY of the home improvement shops.

If you find one let me know I'm keen to pick up one too. a good old wall-mart or Rubbermaid special.

The Rubbermaid ones are in True Value.

    Ground floor, homeworks building.

  8. Are you referring to the old Laguna night spot, in Nai harn next to the "pond"?

That is the old location before it moved next to the SCB bank in Rawai.

People were getting robbed down there for years.

Kids would lie down on the road and bikes would stop to see what's wrong and then people would come out of the bush and attack the bike rider.

I never go down there after dark, and the same goes for Icon club, that place is dangerous.
