In my experience, specialist Cow man gai restaurants across the kingdom are open fairly early morning and sell out around 3pm, with lunchtime being by far their busiest time....................I'm sure there are some exceptions of course..................................regarding Chiang Mai, sorry, I'm not familiar with Pattaya, (I know, I know, just couldn't help myself!) but the side street next to 3 Kings monument is where the best specialist cow man gai restaurants are located IMO............................................................

I'm somewhat surprised no one has commented on your lead in to the post. How you own a condo just to lounge all day before returning home. Tad vain me thinks. The jimmy jam issue could have been the topic without the unnecessary intro. Just my opinion.
I guess noone wanted to pick a fight..................................

I once got a slight dose from Beach food, but to be honest the worst cases came from Indian places in Thailand!
No doubt the rascals are/were cutting corners.....!!.....................and I gotta say, as an experienced f&b operator.............., many customers like to point the finger when the actual issue is invariably a third party or other cause......................................I had one customer who admitted to me finally that it was his viagra that had caused his upset and not his sandwich......................you couldn't make it up!!

Do you run a restaurant? This is the standard nonsense restaurant owners push so the naive will spend more in their shop.
Thai street food is better than many restaurants provide. Cooked right in front of you in many cases, while the restaurants have pots of who knows how old offerings.
I hope this thread has a long life.
The only food poisoning I have ever had in the Kingdom was in a well known foreign owned Western style restaurant in Samui..............street food vendors buy in the morning at market, prepare, cook and sell all in same day...........perfect.......................many inexperienced restaurant owners with poorly trained staff get their stock rotation in a muddle...................................................................................this topic certainly does deserves legs.......................................................

I think Vauxhall UK even commissioned a tongue in cheek advert featuring women in such attire for the new Mokka a few years back.................................

The young man has good energy and the song fits him. However, I’m not sure how many years he can keep this up. You can see the veins in his throat popping out. He’s trashing his voice. And you can hear the hoarseness clearly near the end.
a Rod Stewart in the making..........hopefully....................

That's nice but its disturbing that a man with a big chance of being president DeSantis is building his career by oppressing LGBT youth and turning the job of teacher in Florida into more of a hellscape than it already is.
This is all about exciting his base. Good politics for him but horrible policy.
So, that's what it's become in America?................................ Divisiveness gets one elected..?.............................

Forgive my speculation. It's just unusual for someone to need to criticise others and then point out that they are happy about something completely unprompted.
I've followed this thread and admired the way you have unassumingly held it together and encouraged the best out of posters....................if not for that, I would have thought you were being disingenuous in quote above!!.................................................................

Just hand over my passport, they take me to the immigration office in a limo (they call it a limo bit it is a Honda civic ????) and after 15 minutes take me back to their office. I come back the next day to collect my passport. No hassle with waiting, paper works, TM 30 or any other nonsense for a grand total of 12K BHT
That's some service.....was that long ago? What would the cost be today I wonder?

My post is about whether tourists will accept conditions at the moment and are an account of what I actually experienced on my trip.
You say that.......................... but some might say that it just sounds like a rant in disguise from someone (who isn't shy to state they are a professional and experienced traveller) that deliberately sets their bar too high and by someone who is annoyed at themself for not sticking to their original airline and enjoyed all the associated Gold card benefits ......................... If tourists like the unfortunate German girls mentioned were to have read the OP's opening statement, then they and the whole world might not travel to Thailand......................................But i would imagine most expect travel to be pretty topsy turvy and wouldn't blink when hotels 'failed to comply'..........................................................
Quite frankly, some members poked typical TV fun at the OP and they were abrubtly shut down, almost as if the OP was literally just waiting to pounce..........................hardly condusive to what could have been an engaging thread....................................................

We are leaving Thailand for Greece April 3rd, We will still keep the house here for a little while to see how things work out. We might be trading one set of problems with another, Time will tell.
I, and perhaps others would be very interested to hear how your move to Greece goes, it's certainly a place I've had my eye on recently. Which part are you moving to if you don't mind me asking?....................Are you still gonna be on TV and might you consider some regular updates on your new life there? Or are you gonna be too busy with the souvlaki and retsina..!

Thank you for the reply.
I would be travelling from the UK, so would get a 30 day visa on arrival, but are you suggesting I'm better off applying for a tourist visa here in the UK prior to travel? Its just the Uk police report I possibly, could have a problem with ! Thank you once again.
I'm not 100% sure but I would imagine a police report problem would only be if one had unspent convictions...........
