  1. I had problems last week , I could open all pages except Thaivisa the only way i could read the forum was to access through a proxy. The problem corrected itself and all is okay now.

when I tried to connect I kept receiving 'error 100.'

would be interested to know why this was.

  2. A perfect career opportunity for all of the katoeys out there, most are over the required 160cm they can deal with large crowds and have been known to get physical.

The other benefit for those being protected is the distraction factor.Attacking would be assailants stopped in their tracks to answer the age old question "is she or isn't she ".biggrin.gif

  3. so it begins ......I watched this result with a real sense of foreboding , Thaksin is back in control and the axe is going drop on many heads.

All of those who opposed him here in the country and those from nations and a specific country who said they didn't want him to stay should be worried.

This is a real step backwards I think we will see many changes over the next 12 months.

    reconciliation replaced with revenge!!!

    I hope i am wrong .

  4. Wow! It's like something out of a B-movie.

I was thinking more a joke, what do you get when a Thai a Vietnamese and a Cambodian go to Si sa ket?

    FEEL FREE TO ADD PUNCHLINE!

A Thai, a Vietnamese and a Cambodian went to Si Sa Ket but were caught spying. The RTA asked them what their plans were.

The Thai told them that he was looking at a new place to be become the hub of espionage. The local area commander demanded his tea money, agreed on a future rate for repeat offences, gave him a wai and sent him on his way.

The Vietnamese told them that he was checking out what the capitalist Thai was doing so he could report on the joys of communism when he got home. He got deported, after paying some tea money.

The Cambodian said < FILL IN THE GAP - MAYBE THAIVISA CAN OFFER A PRIZE :) >

    like it ......biggrin.gif

  5. At the top of the page of this article are "Self Defense Tips." I have one; if you don't want to get robbed, mugged, scammed or beaten up, don't come to Thailand.

is that replacing the old and tired "Amazing Thailand" slogan?

  6. ... interesting ... put enough Red-shirt Villages together, and they start looking as their own country, eh?

... sort of like ... well ... the South of Thailand?

... there has been a fundamental change in this country, affecting millions of previously disenfranchised Thais ... a tipping point has been reached, and this election and Thai politics now (and forever) will be as never before.

... the indicators are all there ... a bit scary, actually.

include the rise in nationalism and i am with you... turbulent times ahead

  7. Ladda Tangsupachai, director of the ministry's Cultural Surveillance Center, warned that if "people who showed their bodies for a living" such as "prostitutes" and "go-go dancers" had such tattoos, it would erode respect for religion.

What about the professions they are in are they not offending to some religions?

People with visible religious tattoos who engaged in "bad behavior" such as "sitting drinking alcohol and arguing" would damage the faiths through association, Mr Niphit said.

And how about almost every other Thai guy having tattoos that are truly religious (made at the temple) being seen drinking or is that okay as long as they don't argue ?

(this guy best stay away then)

Another impossible rule to enforce but which could be used to manipulate people.

  8. payed 120 bath for jack sparrow....last week.

    I saw 3d.....and 240bath...so i choosed the normal 120 cheap version...

But it whas a good movie and good to see.

120 bath is nothing compared to europian countries.

You paid with baths, did you include the plug and tap ware as well ?

of course he didn't .........it was in a cinema so they must have been sponge baths biggrin.gif

  9. Whilst this is good news for everybody I'm not very confident that "the system will go live at the end of the year" is a very realistic time scale. They are only just drawing up the terms of reference and Technical specifications for the bidding process, the prospective bidders have then got to put together their bids, a bid team will need to assess the bids, looking out for such things as competence and reliability, cost of installation and running costs and tea money, a preferred bidder will need to be selected and then further negotiations will take place. No way is all that going to happen in seven months, that said, I wish them well.

I suspect this will mainly benefit Thai passport holders, though his should free up more Immigration Officers to deal with none Thai passport holders.

Other countries have automatic passport controls which foreigners can register for, lets hope they go down this route, though there would be many hurdles.

This is one of the Thai announcements that I hope will actually come to fruition.

sorry could not resist , so a Thai company then biggrin.gif

  10. I set up a network for a friend and we came across the same problems when trying to get these os to communicate, after hours a simple restart of both computers magically cured the problem all files and folders accessible by both computers(of course network setup complete which it sounds like you have done ).

Also some very good tutorials on youtube aimed at this problem , hope this helps good luck.

  11. I had a similar experience with my wife a few years back. She was worried about putting on weight and went to the doctors who rather than prescribing more exercise and diet change gave her a myriad of pills. After taking these pills for a couple of days I notice a change in her behavior , so I hit the internet to find out what I could about said pills.

Any way long story short she had been given two types of amphetamine along with sleeping pills I was shocked that a medical professional would hand out such a combination to someone who was far from obese and I showed her the sites and information on what she was taking thankfully she stopped immediately and changed the doctor she visits when sick or has a problem.

In my experience very few Thais will question a doctor or ask for a second opinion and when it comes to pharmacist it seems that they are given the same blind faith.

My condolences to the family a very sad loss to die so young.

  12. This story is no surprise just another instance of Thais trying to avoid the responsibility of their own actions and pass the blame to some one else.

The key to solving most of the problems here would be that simple, rather than trying their hardest to find another party to take all of the blame just stand up and say okay it was me i made a mistake how can we /I make sure that it does not happen again.

Also every generation looks back and remembers the good old days when really we should all be looking forward. maybe if we spent more time and thought on the future we would not have the global problems we have today.
