  1. Just yesterday, I went to Sisaket immigration with wifes house book and id copies, passport photos, and visa in passport, to get a letter of residency to renew my license.

The bugger there just datestamped a previous acknowledgement note stapled in my passport, and signed it. Assured me that that is all I need.

Well it bloody wasn't. After rrooting around at land transport office for half an hour, I was given 2 copies of a letter, which I heard need to be signed by our local orbortor.

Well it bloody wasn't.  My wife didn't understant either. So back home 90km, and today I had a look at the letters, and work out that I had to go back to immigration with the bloody things. So tomorrow, 180km round trip for another game of human ping pong. Jai yen yen.

  2. I heard while I was building, that the paint coating on the c-pac monier roof tiles becomes toxic after ten years or so. So I have 3 large ongs for dogs chickens, and emergency (no power) fed from roof, and all house water from a bore.

Drinking water we buy, at 8 baht × 20 litre bottle, still cheaper than filtration/ osmosis.

If you can recognise the Thai word for 'Resort' you'll find that there are many places around Buriram not to be found on the internet. I have never ever booked in Thailand even at holiday times and have always found something.

Cooked is right. I would suggest going earlier for a drive, and have at look at these small Thai resorts, and even make a booking. Locate the track, and work outwards. Also would be good to know the lay of the land before GP.

Just to clear up a few ignorant posts:

A deactivated personnel mine (see claymore) would at the minimum be stripped of its blasting cap and internal c4.  Leaving only the case and epoxied ball bearings.  When a poster said "it would be easy to re-arm it" that would be correct if you happened to have about a 700 gram stick of c4 in your pocket.

20 rifle magazines - whether brand new bought from a gun store or 50 years old missing their spring bought from Vietnam are equally dangerous.  They are equally dangerous to a pet rock - in that you could hit someone with it as a weapon.

As a former member of the US Military and having combat experience, I don't see any war weapons here.  But it's always nice to hear the delusional point of view of the "gun grabbers".

    Have a nice day.

Then they should be declared. Then either approved, or rejected. Sneaking stuff in will always raise eyebrows.

And what do you suggest if your dog bails up a cobra?

Try and risk getting bitten by trying to catch it or hit it over the head with a shovel?

I like animals, but you're in laa laa land if you think people with no experience should

    try and catch a cobra.

Had a dog killed by a snake already. Wouldn't eat in the evening, and dead stiff in the morning. If I can help it at all, my grand daughters will not die like that. You may not care about our family, but I do. Bye bye snake.

better to just forget about it.  A snake is a snake... a reptile.  Its not a little devil costume out to get you.

Oh my goodness. Religion has enlightened you to the extreme. We are not worthy oh snake lover.

  7. Caring about snakes more than kids lives. Something at bit smelly with this section of the population. There are plenty of places for snakes to be where there are no people around. Any of you ever done a risk assessment? Of course not. Elimination it the first step.

I'm also an Australian and i have no sympathy for this guy whether he is innocent or not.  Why is he running a beer bar and going out drinking again in  gogo bars?  I doubt if the embassy will be racing down the highway to assist him. He's working illegally in Thailand as a pimp collecting bar fines from his bar hookers.

As a Thai man is involved it sounds like he might of been poaching girls from other bars which would explain the bashing and threats of more to come.

Thai bar owners bring girls from their own village or province. May even be related to them, Girls will make more in farang bars because they keep all or most of the boom boom money. Not so with Thai  bar pimps.

So....you are saying you have no idea?... Sure sounds like it.
