I really have no comprehension of this follower stuff, how can a guy like Jake Paul have 40 million followers on social media? Are people that bored, is their life that in uninteresting, that 40 million people would follow someone who is not doing much with their lives other than a few mediocre fights here and there? I don't get it.

We bring an awful lot to the table here and we should be treated with a level of honor. They say they want tourism, and it is obvious they need us, but they don't seem to be willing to treat us with a reasonable level of dignity and respect. I find most Thai people to be fine, it's the government officials who are unbelievably toxic and putrid.

Trump is ‘Unhinged’ But We Love Him, Say Kremlin Mouthpieces

I do feel very strongly that he is a very dangerous man, and would move the US backwards. And many of his supporters seem to have a rather slavish level of devotion to the man. -

That's incredibly amusing, yes he owns 15% of tiktok and therefore the Chinese government has absolutely no influence over the company anymore. That's a good one, and not exactly a convincing excuse as to why your Master did not accept a huge bribe, likely covered by the CCP. In some countries that would be treason, punishable by death. If proven. -

73 year old Thai man swindles friends to pay party entertainers
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
A mandatory sentence of 5 years is appropriate, along with revocation of his citizenship. As long as we are getting rid of bad foreigners, why not take this opportunity to get rid of bad Thais too. Send them to Russia as soon as their sentence is completed. Fun, fun. -
Tourists capturing marine life for social media face legal action
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Krabi News
Unhappy netizens complaining again. I don't advocate disturbing marine life but it's a shellfish. We eat millions of them a day, lifting one up to take a picture is not exactly going to destroy the ecosystem. If you're going to act like such a desperado nation, constantly clamoring for 40 million tourists, you have to expect that a few of them are going to misbehave, and you can't make a national incident about it every time it happens. Lifting a shellfish is akin to wearing white to a formal occasion, after labor day in NYC. Kicking a Thai doctor in the back, on public property someone claims to own, is akin to Germany invading Russia, at the onset of winter. This is getting very tiring. -
HTMS Chonburi moored at sea after accidental weapons discharge

Has the navy’s commander-in-chief, Admiral Adoong Pan-iam lost his job yet? I think this would be expected in most nations that were not absolutely dominated by their rather pathetic armed forces. -

Certainly not a fact as we have no evidence but the most likely outcome. Of all the people to occupy that office, he's likely the easiest one to buy. -

Well knowing who Trump is we certainly know that it's a high probability that he was offered a bribe, and that he accepted a bribe. It is not in his nature to turn down money whether illicit or not. -

Truman had a pretty good reason, it was obvious Japan was not going to stop at anything, they had a completely insane emperor who bowed down to the commanders of the Armed Forces, who in the jaws of defeat, would not give up. Things are quite a bit different in Russia. Putin is creating a war out of thin air. He obviously enjoys murdering women and children. That is just who he is. I think you're comparing rambutans to pomelos. -
PM heads to Chiang Mai – today’s #1 most air-polluted city
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Mai News
One that is completely bought and paid for by major corporations, hold on a second that sounds like nearly every country in the world. The again China has had a fair amount of success in cleaning up Beijing, so I suppose Thailand could clean up Bangkok if they really wanted to. But they don't seem to care, one iota. -

My guess is you would question any source that you would call MSM considering your political leanings, but here goes anyway. "I'm not looking to make Facebook double the size," Trump told CNBC on Monday. "And if you if you ban TikTok, (then) Facebook and others, but mostly Facebook, will be a big beneficiary. And I think Facebook has been very dishonest." Trump met recently with investor Jeff Yass, whose investment firm Susquehanna International Group has a stake in ByteDance, he confirmed on CNBC. Trump said they did not talk about TikTok. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/tiktok-us-security-threat-says-trump-similar-facebook-cnbc-2024-03-11/ -

What he said was absolutely correct. Never forget. Trump is never guided by principals or a desire to do the right thing. It is always a selfish motive. It is very possible this guy offered him hundreds of millions, to reverse this, after willing the election. If he wins. He made his change of heart on TikTok public after meeting with Jeff Yass, a Republican megadonor, in February. Yass' company, Susquehanna International Group, has a 15% stake in ByteDance, which is TikTok's parent company. According to Politico, Trump praised the investor at a Club for Growth retreat at The Breakers resort in Palm Beach, Florida. https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-tiktok-comments-meeting-with-billionaire-investor-jeff-yass-2024-3 -
Anutin touches down in Phuket for brief inspection
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Anutin is a do nothing man. This is a man who only represents corporate interests. This is a man who only represents the elite. This is not a man who represents progress, change, or helping the nation to move forward. This is not a man who represents the people. This not a man who cares about the well-being of the people. -

If you goons were not bought and paid for by big agra, the burning would stop. It is your compromised nature and your unwillingness to put up a good fight, that is the major cause of the air apocalypse we are facing. People are dying and suffering in hospitals on your watch, and their blood is on your hands. You are cowards. You are incompetents. You deserve to be voted out with a vengeance. Because this is a man who represents corporate interests. This is the man who represents the elite. This is not a man who represents progress, change, or helping the nation to move forward. This is not a man who represents the people. This not a man who cares about the well-being of the people. Corporations do not want to clean up the air, they're making billions by fouling the air. All the government or provinces would have to do is crack down on sugar companies and the air would improve by 70% overnight, this time of year. One simple move, yet do they do that? Do they enforce any of the existing laws? Absolutely not, they do not care for the people one iota, the common man, us, our neighbors and friends and family, we mean less than zero. Sretta. The do nothing man.- 17 replies

What this man meant to say is that this dissolution would be waived in democratic countries, not other democratic countries. By saying other democratic countries he is implying that Thailand is a democratic nation, which it is not. When elections are stolen because a candidate who is too progressive wins an election, based on the will of the people, that is the opposite of a democracy. Thailand is a kleptocracy. Run by thieves and robber barons and men totally lacking in morality, ethics, decency, concern for their people and compassion. They are misled, misguided, and only worship the golden calf.

Rocky start for Thailand’s latest alcohol tax reform
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I will believe this when I see it, the concept of the Thai government making a sacrifice to benefit consumers or tourism is unheard of. It would be a rather astonishing development and a display of wisdom and intelligence which is something that we very rarely ever see here on a governmental level. The secondary consideration is will these reduced prices be passed on to the consumer? Thailand could have a very, very dynamic luxury wine industry if they lowered the taxes. That 54% figure is not the correct amount for a wine. Import taxes are much, much higher than that on fine wine. Why else would good wine be 3 to 5x more expensive here, than in the US? Why is the tax on wine in Thailand 250% on average? In most cases, duties constitute a state’s primary protection against products imported from other countries in direct competition with local production. https://silklegal.com/wine-tax-in-thailand-a-protectionist-barrier/ -
Patong businesses refusing to serve Thai people
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Yes I was hanging out with a friend of mine who was obsessed with Bangla Road, and so I ended up going there twice with him, and yes I did not want to go the second time but I was being friendly to someone that I was hosting from another country so I went anyway. But it was just as dreadful the second time, and I do not think I would ever go back under any circumstances. -
Thailand to welcome 36 million foreign tourists in 2024
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
These numbers are likely based on figures that are provided by the Thai government and there's no doubt in my mind that they're counting expats that are coming back and forth, businessmen who are traveling back and forth, and who knows how many other types of arrivals they're counting who are not tourists. There is only one thing that's certain in the numbers that they're publishing, and that is the lack of accuracy. -

When somebody stops paying attention to dependable news sources, and starts only paying attention to tropes, and ridiculous people like the huuuge guy, then they tend to believe that somebody like Biden is a very dangerous man up there on the level of Putin. You have to take into account that facts and truth don't mean anything, when you're suffering from that level of delusion. -

The Southern third of Bali has been spoiled and degraded to the point where it's an abomination. From Ubud north, and on the east coast and the northwest coast it's absolutely delightful. If you could fly into Denpasar, jump on a helicopter and go to Ubud it would be all good, but getting on those roads is just an unbelievable nightmare. Sometimes it's worse than rush hour in Manhattan. There are so many things about Bali that I like, but the traffic, the congestion, the overdevelopment and the fact that it's overrun by young Aussies, is something that will likely prevent me from ever going back. Right now Patong is the closest thing to Bali within Thailand in terms of just being overcrowded with very low quality tourists, and just incredibly unpleasant for anyone over the age of 22. I lived on Samui a long time ago and it was paradise. Right now both Samui and Phuket run the risk of becoming unsustainably over developed, and absolutely unbearable nightmares.
