Apple making big move to Thailand as production shifts from China
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Anything to reduce dependence on China, and the heinous CCP, has to be a good thing. Though, I would not consider the army regime to be a reliable partner either. Let us hope they get evicted next month. -
Good on him for his success, if indeed it is real. However, I would much rather have married a gal from a simple, large hearted, hard working Issan family, as I had to good fortune to do, than a member of the so called "hi so" , here. I have never met many that had much in the way of redeeming qualities. Their arrogance knows no bounds. Though, I am sure there are four or five exceptions here.

Aircon struggling this hot weather.

It goes back to a combination of a lack of vision, the willingness to save money today, and forsake tomorrow, and cheap contractors trying to squeeze every last baht out of their customers. -
Thailand criticized for returning Myanmar resistance members
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This is just another act of extreme cowardice, and demonstrates the moral degradation, and toxic rot of the Thai army, and this administration. Just another reason why the people need to oust them. They would not know what "doing the right thing" was, if it bit them on the butt. -
Very true. I find most Thais to be pleasant, yet most government workers are toxic and difficult. A crash course in manners and making someone feel welcome, could work for some government workers who possess an open mind. After all, they do drone on and on about needing tourists. I totally blame Prayuth, the biggest joke and Anutin. They are bad for tourism. Immigration has gotten worse under their tutelage and their arrogance, and their insufferable xenophobia knows no bounds. This whole thing leaves a bitter, sour, nasty, foul taste in one's mouth, and the stench can be smelled for kilometers. Thailand is moving backwards on so many levels, I do not even know where to begin. I believe at this point, that if Brittany Spears were to declare her candidacy, she would beat Prayuth, hands down. That is how much he and the army are despised, at this point.

The constant threats and declarations are surely enhancing tourism. Some of these officials are not only clueless, they have exceptionally big heads, accompanied by very small brains. The Thai army is nothing if not predictable. Without exception, they always pick from the bottom of the barrel, and consistently choose ministers with the least amount of talent possible.

Why? Who would want to suffer like that, if you have a choice? I am no martyr. I don't like pain and suffering. -

Always keep your air con clean. Clean the filters at least once every two weeks, and have the entire unit broken down and deep cleaned every six months, and have them check the coolant every time. Also, always buy a bigger unit than the room needs. Keeps the rooms cooler with less power. And lastly, get some ceiling insulation and ceiling exhaust fans, if practical. Both make a big difference. -
Alot has changed since the days of women walking the streets here topless. That was before Phinun and the successive mob of goons, who absolutely love preaching fake purity. These infantile acts keep the very effective police force from the real duty of policing and keeping the faithful public safe.

As usual, the RTP is doing everything in their power to avoid real crime fighting. The RTP and this foolish administration should be focusing their efforts on traffic and public safety, easing import tariffs, making visa policy simpler, and more friendly, boosting Western tourism (if that is even possible at this late stage, after spending ten years sabotaging the industry), real crackdowns on slavery, illegal fishing (instead of nonsensical hyperbole), and police corruption, cleaning up the water, the air, the rivers, and the beaches, and other things that actually improve lives.

Pepsi Introduces Bottles Made from Recycled Plastic

This is a step in the right direction. I don't drink garbage soda products. But, I give them credit for this move. -

Dalai Lama regrets asking boy to 'suck my tongue'
spidermike007 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
If course it is not OK. And with many priests, I tend to believe it. However, this guy seems above that kind of nonsense and some might have an ax to grind. Sometimes, rushing to judgment is not wise. -
Of course this is a personal decision, but I would feel like a fool, for buying a car that is 100-150% higher than the cost in the US. The luxury taxes here are downright stupid.
