Talking with dealerships they all say that the interest for car financing is about 3% per year but all also mention (when we ask) that the amount will be also subject to VAT of 7% (for the loaned money only)

Loans for second hand cars are expensive. Interest is added up front, so expect to pay at least 30% on the loan amount. Also, they will hit you up for insurance for the first year.

I think about writing an email to the condominium committee. I guess I should especially mention that what those technicians do is a fire risk. I also might remind them that maybe the insurance won't pay if a fire happened because of work from people who are not qualified for such work.

They may ask to see evidence of the poor workmanship.

I'm not sure if the postal service is still available but I have found the web link (below) to the MOFA Legalization at CW....  Maybe give them a call.... Hope this helps.

Thanks. I have used the postal service before, but this time i am legalizing a passport copy and do not want to send it in the post.

I am guessing all of the appointments are being taken by agents. I may give the MOFA a call and see if there are any agents in the area that i can entrust the donkey-work to. If not, i will have to go to Chaeng Watthana.

  4. I will need to get a passport copy legalized soon, but it looks like you now need to make an online appointment to submit your documents. However, there are no available times for Khlong Toi, but there are many free times at Chaeng Wattana.

Is it no longer possible to just turn up?

EDIT: I will be happy to leave my docs with an agent and let them deal with it if it is possible at Khlong Toei.

  5. I will be visiting my wife for more than 60 days and would like to know the fee for a 90 day Non O and what are the financials needed as it does not specify the details on the website. I will apply online to the RTE London office.

I could get a 60 day tourist visa and extend locally, but i would prefer not to have to go to my local office.

I know nothing about welding ,metal work , just watching a video now ,broken

front axle ,snapped clean in half , no wonder the weight they put on those trucks,

anyway on the video he's cutting bits out ,of the axle , and welding it back together,

what I want to know would a welded axle , halfshaft , gears be as strong as original ?

I had some driveshafts welded here when i did a gearbox mod. The shafts were drilled and a rod inserted in the middle of the 2 parts. Then they were welded and machined smooth. However, one did break under load.
