Reinventing the wheel once more. All earthquake standards, engineering and regulations were written and available to the public as of 40 years ago. Earthquake central, California, has all the facts and data. Grab and translate.
But to simplify, there is these thingys us engineers call 'SHEAR WALLS'. Learn them, use them, love them. They are built in Thailand only by accident. Without shear walls... does the term 'house of cards' ring any bells?
This is forehead flattening. I or any engineer could teach Moment Of Inertia to every person who has ever visited ThaiVisa to the degree of constructing an earthquake safe residence in a couple of weeks.
Not by accident. Shear walls are used here to reinforce buildings against wind force.

Journalists and the Media of USA are on the take from the wealthy and powerful.
See the log in your own eye before pointing at the speck of dust in the eyes of others.

The Thai economy is collapsing in part due to the prolonged elected government disruption, military coup, and Junta mismanagement that has cost the nation almost 10% GDP growth to date. Now the nation is entering deflation and devaluation of the baht. Calling for a minimum wage hike is not the solution but will only further damage the economy.
It would better serve the labor leaders to protest the Junta to move more quickly to disinvesting itself of rule government, reactivate the 2007 constitution, elect a new government, and normalize the economy.
Was it not the previous elected government who raised costs and debts with their populist policies that the Thais are now reeling from the pain?

I noticed in most construction here there is no header board in door ways or windows.
For bricks and blocks, a concrete lintel is used. But the Thais do not use any. They build directly onto the frames of doors and windows.

The problem is that costs will increase if their wages go up. It's pretty simple really.
If Somchai employs 200 workers for 300 baht a day which = 60.000 baht and sells product at X price and has to now pay his 200 workers 390 baht = 78.000 baht a day, so X becomes X + 30% which is passed on to everyone!
And that applies to 10's of thousands of workplaces around LOS.
All because Thai's live beyond their means.
The best numbers I've seen indicate that corruption sucks an average of about 30-40% out of every transaction in Thailand. Maybe it's more, maybe it's less.
That is a much bigger factor in prices and competitiveness than any $2 per day increase in wages.
Perhaps the masses of workers are simply demanding that they get a bigger, fairer cut of the pie, hopefully at the expense of corrupt officials.
Your math is a little off base, since the cost of labor is actually a small portion of the total cost of most products. For example, doubling the cost of labor on an IPhone would only add a few percent to the cost of the phone. The rest of what we pay for that IPhone is why Apple is so cash rich.
Then, buy a Xinhua instead of an IPhone.

A wooden shack can also be earthquake proof. A castle costs much more but why not build one on free money from the State? Then complain when the actual free money is so little.

They are so secret that the previous government either did not record them in government documents, or had the documents destroyed?

What do the brains of people who earn only $10 a day and still procreate a family think? Ahhh...thoughts only form when they are drunk or erecting from bed in the mornings. If you give people with structural debt problems 3000 baht, their debts will increase proportionally. Borrowing money, in most cases, is not about making ends meet, its about wrong priorities and unhealthy dose of PPP (piss poor planning).
I suspect that people trying to raise a family on $10 a day would disagree.
No amount of even the greatest planning stretches $10 to feed, clothe, house, educate and keep 4 people healthy when costs are being globalized.
Sure, some folks would just piss away the extra $2, as they would piss away $20 or even $200 per day. But for many, the extra $2 would represent quite an improvement in the quality of their lives.

Financial institutions should be required to consider the total debt profile of a borrower before extending loans or credit cards.
A law should be made to ensure all credit and debt data of borrowers be kept and updated by a central body. Loans outside the system should be considered void and uncollectable.

My guess is that the stress is from fear in losing one's job when one is also drowning from debt repayments.

When all govt employees of power organisation have to pay for power to their homes, the price of electricity would automatically be equitable.

Every company in Thailand has 3-4-5 times as much personell compared to a similar company in Europe.
Maybe we should teach them how to work efficient?
Inefficiency is not from a lack of knowledge, but from a lack of professionalism. They have a 'I don't give a damn' attitude, seen commonly in the work ethics of civil servants.

Here is the latest - children of rice farmers are no longer helping to farm rice, nor are they keen learners in schools either.Thailand has plenty of workers, they are just employed in the wrong labour-intensive industry producing a low value crop.
"Mammas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Rice Farmers" with apologies to Willy
They spend most of their time online, gaming or boozing, and teens are becoming parents...

"Don't bother writing new rules to make it better," Panthongtae said on Facebook. "Let's just do what my dad suggested. We stick with all the good, unbiased principles and add just one clause to the new constitution. That clause should say, 'No Shinawatra shall ever be allowed to play politics.'"
This would never work. The Shins would just change their name, and conduct business as usual. Just see how many passports your father is holding.

Sometimes really makes you wonder if they have a brain at all or it's just an empty skull.
They do have a brain - only in that little head.

Some of our longest standing democracies were founded on "inciting disobedience".
Some of the worst dictatorships were founded on propaganda and hate speech.
Nazi Germany and Japan during WW2 are good examples.

Perhaps they learned from the over 100 UK airlines that are now defunct? A high percentage of them from Bankruptcy?
Or the over 50 USA airlines that went bankrupt?
Or the over 200 airlines now defunct in Europe?
I do not believe this is unique to Thai Airlines
Your above list includes an airline that was supported by taxpayers' money?

I would advise framed windows with glass panels not exceeding 20cm width to prevent possible break-in by burglars.
I'm sure the house is going to have much more accessible windows and doors than these - why climb a roof, and need to drop 5M down, when you can just walk in?
Door and Windows near ground level can be protected by metal grilles when needed, but this roof window would face difficulty in opening and closing when grilles are added.

Help should only be given on the understanding that the land provided to them for farming belongs to the country forever.
They are issued the right to farm on the land, and such a right ceases when farming by them stops, and the land shall be returned to the State to assist others.
