I am surprised you can survive here. Your attitude is <deleted> poor, and your angst is beyond belief. You would be happier being back where ever you came from..

All of the southern islands are killing themselves this year. Last years high season was down, then the off season went to hell as well. So what do they do? Double all the room prices over last years high season rates on booking sites. It was amazing to look at. The same hotels my family and friends visited last year on Phuket, Raillay and Phi Phi wanted more than double. So I called down direct expecting to get a better rate. "Have to raise our prices we are going to be full", was the reply. Gave up. Let them perish, places I have been visiting for years.
Checked up north Chiang Rai and the surrounding mountains for a road trip. Prices are way down. So I called and asked why. " We need guests we have had a terrible year, come on up and we will give you another 20% off. So we are booked. Chiang Rai, Pu Chee Fah, Chaing Khang, Mae Sai, and Doi Tung. Nice little trip. Hope some of the losers in the south wake up...

Once again the Thai news is wrong. The women caught on the 21st of October have not even been to trial. 2 Thai men caught in February were sentenced to 16 years in jail on Oct 17th. Shoddy reporting indeed.
Two Thai men were sentenced to heavy 16-year jail terms in Indonesia on Wednesday after swallowing a kilogram of methamphetamine in a foiled drug smuggling bid.
A district court in Bali handed down the sentence, which was less than the 18-year terms that prosecutors demanded for Prakob Seetasang, 30, and Adison Phonlamat, 20.
The pair were arrested on the Indonesian holiday island earlier this year after arriving on a flight from Bangkok.
They declined to launch an appeal against their sentence after they were found guilty Wednesday.
“After discussions, we as the representatives of the defendants have decided to accept the verdict,” lawyer Aji Sibalan told a panel of judges.
The Thai nationals would also have to pay a fine of IDR2 billion (US$142,000) each or spend an extra year in jail, said presiding judge Heriyanti.

Why would the Australian dollars fall cause you to divorce your wife. How are these two different problems connected?

Bad enough to be speeding as he was, but on a university campus. Seems he was a government official as well. <deleted>? Make an example of this guy. All the students could have so easily been dead.

You could live easily with less than $300 per month in Thailand.
Thai's live with the families thus saving a lot of money. Tell me as a tourist how you would get by on 9000 baht a month please.

Not this time. He has lost his well paying job. Perhaps much more, with from this statement his employers.

According to the clip posted on various social media, the employee of Kasa Development Company Limited used words and expressed violent aggression including lese majesty of Thailand and the monarchy. We have immediately set up a committee to investigate and have a unanimous resolution to terminate the employee, according to company rules and regulations, effective immediately on 23rd October 2019 onwards.

Why a flight, one can exit Thailand by train and its possible to get an advanced train ticket 60days before your travel. Internet booking possible.
Because by air is safer. He can pay the overstay and leave easily. Any other way is fraught with complications.
I dont have any sympathy for him. I am also surprised his family cant come up with just 800 pounds. Genuinely surprised at this..

They have simply priced themselves out of the market. Low cost means low cost and they no longer are. Plus trying to get rid of baggage, seats, priority boarding and insurance is a pain in the ass on their site. I gave up 3 years ago and know many who feel the same...

Moved here 31 years ago to escape all the rules and regulation of the USA. Never visited Singapore as it has too many rules and regulations. Slowly but surely this has all changed. Now we have as many or more stupid rules and laws here. All since the Army took over. The Thai citizens are waking up to this as well. Something brown and stinky is going to hit the wall in the near future. Since time began the Thai's have had a healthy disregard for petty rules, well they are not even petty rules anymore. Watch out Army boys, its going to happen..

I remember when I went back to California for a visit a few years ago, ladyboys began making public appearance, but sparingly and with eyes on high alert.
Legal in San Francisco. Illegal here.

However, not surprisingly, still a number warned that I was threading on hostile terrain - "you've got nerve, this being a 'straight' forum" and what not...Let's see if this thread, focusing on how societies' (Thai vs US in this instance) views regarding gay marriage differ, fares any better...
This seems to be the real reason you posted this thread. Feel better now?

So you are upset that the Thai's are finally making a fare wage? Think a little bit more globally, and a little less about the past and yourself..

All around this area they have dug up wonderful smooth footpaths. These had been in place for about 6 years and showed no signs of wear. Very popular in the early morning for jogging. They have been replaced as you see above. Where once there was one flat footpath about 1.3 meters wide there are now two with one being 15 centimeters higher than the other. It is beyond belief. Hard enough to walk on the narrow footpaths now, but also it seems the work is very shoddy indeed. Somebody made money though. That is in general what is it all about.

I don't see how it could be enjoyable to have to process 85 consecutive letters without a single space, and then repeat the process every two lines for like 300 pages.

Like so many things here, it makes no sense. Once you learn to read Thai you begin to understand why their thought process is so f***ed up.
xenophobia is alive and well. Lets look at a bit or English. Knight, how do you pronounce that word? Wrong, how about that one. Lets look at a sentence or two. The drummer painted a bass on his bass drum. The oarsmen had a row about how to row the boat. You learn a language from birth and it becomes natural.
Seems some would rather just bitch and complain and see their "writing" in print. Damn dudes take a chill pill.

First it 33 baht to deliver it. You are complaining? Secondly find the shops that Pratom and Mattayom students go to to buy school supplies they will have it. Dont know where in Pattaya, but they will have several of these shops
