  1. Very good article in The Scotsman by Tom English.

    http://www.scotsman....-fan.6773941.jp

Hits the nail on the head really.

After their last minute attempt to scupper Whyte's deal and their negative press statements about it, Johnston, Bain and co. must have known their days were numbered. The only mystery is why it's taken so long !

The board were looking for a Sugar Daddy to clear the debt with the bank, then walk away and let the status quo prevail. The board would have kept their cushy little jobs and the club would have continued to lumber along from season to season on it's knees. Instead they got an owner who has new ideas and who is looking for new opportunities to expand the Rangers brand.

Whyte is first and foremost a businessman and this is a takeover. Like any other takeover the new owner chops out the deadwood and replaces it with his own men with fresh ideas and newly motivated staff.

Johnston has been eerily quiet for the last 18 months when the clubs been in turmoil - too busy playing golf in America. Strange that he's suddenly become so vocal now that his own necks on the line. Bain's done very well from RFC with his £600K salary. What does he do for his money ? He's been totally ineffectual and an absolute bomb scare in the transfer market. Gentlemen Rangers FC have an exciting new future and you're not part of it. Kindly leave. :bah:

    kin irony ah that !!

sooner you slink off to the blue square. ill even pay the m.o.t on your transit van,

exciting new future???? yep you crack on sg, big fish small shallow stagnant pond

  2. You don't seriously remember Alfie Conn favourably do you?

Strange question 39.gif and who said i remembered him favourably ;)

    Diving cheat that he was.

I didn't realize they had diving in them days ;)

rangers ? celtic , or his oldfella played for for the baby huns :) , i even stopped off in his boozer in coatbridge, en route to

watch the famou s hibernian take the piss yet again in weegie, ps was he i n your relegation team

  3. can i ask the chelsea fans on here, do you actually like abramovich? because for all his millions he seems hell-bent on undermining any manager who comes in. if it wouldn't totally screw up his nondom status and make him have to pay tax in the UK he might as well make himself manager.

oh and by the way, fernando torres scored more goals against chelsea than he did for them this season. ta for the 50m. ;)

I can't say I actually like the man, its funny I had a dream last night I was a billionaire and I bought him out and set about running the club properly, firstly by introducing a salary cap, you would soon see the players that say they love the club going if they weren't getting their extortionate wages.

We do need a good clear out and I'm sure we are in for some shocks as a few big names players will be going. They should recall all our talented youngsters for the new manager to see if they are up for playing regular 1st team football. If they are good enough they will play and we won't be having that discussion about letting all the young players go out on loan in favour for some experienced over paid mercenary. As regards to Torres we need to build around him and I'm 100% sure he will come good.

re,cal all youre talented yongsters . . A .nout wrong witj that, B to see if theyre up to 1st team football,????

so no curnt is like kinda monitrin them

  4. Sorry to see West Ham go, but happy to see Wigan's miracle, dropping only two points from the last 4 games. I'm not really a Wigan fan but the prices at the DW stadium are so cheap and you can park outside cheap so it's nice to see that my occasional bit of economical live EPL watching can continue next season.

Maybe I should switch allegiances from Arsenal? I'll bet the Wigan fans are feeling much better about the last campaign than the average Gooner.

Edit: If you are lurking around still Singh, you were right mate - Sunderland squeaked it above Newcastle on the last day of the season; good job I didn't put money on it.

    bpl summed up

  5. excuse me if i have completely and utterly misjudged the normality. in supporting , 1, a once great team 2,

    and a current great team

seems ive completely muddled myself up and even managed to imagine , glory huntin , and the ref booked me for it???,......

what did you reckon bout utd when forest won those eu cups ???? or was that when you were at school in worthing

    Don't worry imola - I'll feed you.

I supported that once great team before anyone gave them a hope in hell of being a great team.

I watched them when they had their biggest attendance at City Ground 49,946 (a stunning 3-1 thrashing of a Man Utd side that had Best, Law and Charlton).

I watched them when Cloughie picked up his first trophy for Forest - the Anglo-Scottish cup.

I watched them at the fated Hillsborough semi-final and I watched them at Villa Park when they thrashed Wet Spam 5-0

I was only at school for the first of those games.

bout youre last , ffa cup game ref?

forest , that is, not youre iother team(s):)

  7. Blimey cardholder, what planet have you been hiding on. That is why Man United have had a banner hung up at the Stretford End with 35 years on it. And the fact that it has been so long is also what makes winning it so special. So no matter what negativity you put on it, we don't really give a toss.

Don't get me wrong Mr Bo this has been a very good season for Man City - but I wasn't the one who crowed about the semi-final result.

I genuinely hadn't realised that it had been so long since City won anything. As a Forest fan I have, effectively, been on another planet - it is called "The Lower Leagues" and it is not a very nice place to be.

I cannot watch the Premiership games as a 'neutral' so I have found myself 'supporting' United over the last few years - ironic, because I found them to be loathsome when Forest were in the top flight. Those of you supporting Premiership clubs may not understand this but when you are down with the deadmen you can differentiate between planet Premier and planet 'fizzy pop'. I am sure many of the older Man City fans can relate to that.

As you have mentioned the banner I would just say that I find the whole thing quite churlish.

on one hand you claim to be forest, but asthey dont feature in bpl you "supportinng" uninted, would that be , soulless shitcunnt united???

btw who did churlish play for , soppy mining no mark , churlish ?????, get facked ..... caught... youre fackin nigel palace ,

you palace nigel cun_t, ps cantona ! nigel fack all. wouldnt appen down ours, you muggy nigel no marks :D :D :D :D :D :D nigel :D

  9. I never like Grant since his time at Chelsea, but the owners chose him, then tried to offload him in January, since then he lost the dressing room and that has been the major problem. I like the idea of Kevin Keen to be honest but in a joint role with............wait for it..........Scott Parker, I know he is gonna think of his career and everything and obviously he has a big wage that has to be paid, but he has the respect of the dressing room and is Mr Motivator, example the game at West Brom, the two David's should keep him and give KK the chance as well. We need a manager who knows how West Ham played years ago, the old passing game has gone. Also the youngsters need to be given a chance and I for one believe KK would give them a chance. I am not thinking of promotion at the first attempt, it may take longer but use the youngsters. Get rid of the dead beats like Boa Morte, Upson, Dyer and the rest. Sell Green to anyone who wants him, send Keane back to Spurs, Ba is gonna be picked off soon by bigger teams, Piquonne and Der Hammer would go back to Europe.

    The exodus will begin soon.

here ya beano, however shaftin the pkeys twice, , ps did you see that mug curnt at v wigan ,????? a farkin flyin caravan????

  10. We should use this situation as an oppotunity to hire a young up mand coming coach. A risk yes but one i believe worth taking.

Some fans are pretty fickle. Although no fan of Redknapp he has done a dam_n good job at Spuds, and getting rid of him at this point is really not going to benefit the club.

I suppose though Souness would be seen as a younger manager, with a Spuds background. :)

yep youre not wrong , however they are all wanke_rs ;) with no loyalty or soul never even mind humour, in a word

cun_ts, AND FACK EACH AND EVERY 1 A THEM :)

  11. Absolutely fab performance, at times we made Liverpool look 2 nd rate, Now thats memorable!!! Now why the fuc havnt we been able to do that since xmas? yesterday, For me seemed like all the pressure was off the players and they played with real freedom, Modric's movement was almost balletic in its grace, but he's been great all season. Got to point the finger at ari, some how should have realised it and been able 2 take the pressure of them, yesterday it seemed like it was off, and oh what a difference. Ps but got 2 admit having king made a huge difference, come on u sppppppppppppurs.

you just dont get it rij ?????? do you??? aaaahhhhaaaahhhhaaaahhaa?? when reina dived 9 seconds before modric took his pena;lty,

did you start dreaming of all those exotic europa destinations, ie moldova , lithuiania checnya etc , see you back in 4th you string

  12. Di Canio has applied for the Swindon job.

If appointed it'll either go fantastically well or dramatically bad. One thing it certainly won't be is boring and uneventful.

I'm sure he's going there for the roundabouts. As long as Swindon con't try and poach Paul Buckle from Torquay.

I reckon Gary Johnson would be a good appointment

We're not chasing anybody. Only want people who want the job enough to apply.

George Burley and Didi Hamann are other applicants.

hello my names imola, just thought id introduce myself, truth is its more of a relief to be detached from the plastic corporate tourist types

millwall away 1st game an millwall home last will do just nicely,,,,,, chim chimeny chim chim cha roo

  13. Enough said,as i sob my poor pathetic heart out over another tragic season of football, why do have i so much bad luck,:whistling:

sack that nomark grant carnt by 9.05 tommorow, .

    millwall twice, lovely

  14. It's called sportsmanship. Doh !!

In order that you should start demanding 'sportsmanship' from your opponents you need to understand what the word fully means. It doesnt mean being a good loser. It encompasses the ethos of both 'fairness' and 'respect'. Now City can now claim they are a better team than Spurs because they have finished higher up the league table.

However as you have bought your way up the table noone is going to offer you their 'respect' or say it is 'fair'. In reality, if Blackpool avoid relegation they have achieved more in footballing terms than Man City can possibly achieve in the current year. So when you say 'hard luck' to Spurs you know it wasnt really true at all because luck didnt have much to do with it.

Next year you have CL and loads of money so what you will buy - Kaka, Hazard, Aguero, Sanchez, Abromavich or even Messi is beyond me - but the yawning chasm in your p&l will continue to show in all 'fairness' the difference between the 'respect' you aspire to and the 'respect' you deserve.

crikey abs youve gone an proper lost it, the owner of chelsea??? will also play for city????.............3-1 ya maaahgz, dal farkin glish ? you soppy mugs

  15. Looks like the end for WHam. Wigan deserve to escape more than you guys on recent form, not that this has anything to do with what will happen. I might nip over to the DW stadium when I get back to the UK tomorrow if tickets are still available for Sunday. Should be a real nail-biter.

Not so sure i think any team "deserves" anything as such. What i do know though is West Ham is a far more a premier league club than Wigan will ever be and if they go down i'll miss our derbies.

Oh thats right...and they did win us the world cup did'nt they...

thats correct carms, ps see ya next season

  16. It's almost a valid point for dicussion, especially when one takes into consideration that in Australian rules football a point is scored for hitting the woodwork.

It is possibly a fairer way of deciding a match after extra time rather than going to penalty shootouts.

But on second thoughts a miss is as good as a mile (as the old saying goes) and when I think about all those tmes I nearly got a lady pregnant only to be deflected by a condom, just microns away ........ :D

I think West Ham need more than the woodwork to save them.

Last year they had the 7th highest wage bill and came 17th in the league. This year I guess its lower but I bet its at least 5 times higher than Blackpool's at 6m quid.

I am surprised there hasnt been more talk about West Ham going bankrupt unless the Chav's have unlimited resources. They have over 100m of debt. Their short term bank debt becomes due on the 11th of August. They have some 30m owing to other football clubs including 16m on Tevez. They havent settled on Alan Curbishley. It would be a shame to see a club with its tradition disappear but it was effectively destroyed by the Icelandic crew.

Where to start with the utter sh*te that's written there ??? :D

Best off that i don't probably, i'll get banned undoubtedly because of this Thread..

But of course i can't resist..

1 ) You, me nor anyone else on this Forum have any idea what WHUFC's wage Bill is this Season, so that's void.

2 ) Hasn't been more talk ?? Maybe not on Planet Abrak there hasn't been much talk but on Planet Earth, there has been lots of talk about it for the last 3 Years, so that's void.

3 ) You wouldn't know what a Chav was if one come up to you & stole your Abacus out of your back Pocket..

4 ) We are now in debt to the tune of 80m GBP, so that's void.

5 ) We owe Sheff United 9m GBP now, so that's void..

6 ) We settled with Cubishley in Feb 2010, so that's void too..

So what else have you got Anorak ????????

This Fella makes Smokie look like a Mensa Candidate..

Look Singh I will happily agree with you that there has been much discussion whether West Ham were effectively bankrupt when they were in the Premiership over the past 3 years. The fact is if you were 'maybe' insolvent while you were in the premiership then the Championship must involve financial Armeggedon. So while it was perhaps a 'maybe' I guess we should really assume you have stopped discussing it because now it is a 100% certainty.

It really doesnt matter if their debt is 100m or 80m. The TV revenue represents 60% of your total revenue and you were bleeding cash in the premiership. Your bank debt 48m is short term and repayable in August 2011 and you are in breech of you debt covenants. To say you only owe 9m on Tevez rather than 16m is beside the point because you cant pay back your bank debt let alone your Tevez debt. The Tevez debt is simply an illustration of the fact that you are already several years behind paying your debts. Unfortunately now you dont even have a business with which to pay them.

So Singh if you are so smart, simply name me 'ONE' championship side with 80m of debt. The answer is there isnt one as I am sure you well know. I am simply asking a very simple question. GIVEN THAT YOU GUYS HAVE BEEN DISCUSSING BANKRUPTCY AND INSOLVENCY WHEN YOU HAD LARGE INCOME FLOWS COMING THROUGH YOUR GATES WHAT THE fuc_k ARE YOU GOING TO DO NOW YOU HAVENT. THE ONLY REASON IT AINT WORTH DISCUSSING IT ANYMORE IS THAT I GUESS WE ALL KNOW THE ANSWER.

fark me ,!!!!! what if we stay up then??? can we trade as a business ,???? will you still be interesting???? btw 3-1, thats a scoreline , not a balancesheet, .

outof intrest????when was the last time anyone spoke to you??? kinweirdo

  17. Don't forget about the verdict of QPR's inquest this week.

Quite an eye opener after Neil Warnock and the Tevez affair.

    Perhaps they won't be champions?

They will still go up, I expect they will receive a fine rather than a points reduction.

proobly doing yourselves a right favour by getti nsennt down, as you started on about tevez and warnofk,

btw plymouth is near france, thats in europe overseas, and apperently do a tasty bowl of tripe,, www.heyupshite.com

  18. I met this guy all you Ammers will know as Cass Pennant, he was in LK Metro this weekend just gone, a fine guy for a hard man.

BTW, who is Mr S, Singh

been in donny br station several occasions, , battys railway boozer???? coyi

  19. I was lucky in Bangrak there were 2 bars open with a generator, M and M's and Premier Sports Bar, spent most of my time in the Premier as they had the kitchen open from 11.30am and happy hour prices til 7pm.

yep , generators for a business is undoubtedly the way forward, good luck to any business that has invested in one ,

, and can still provide a service to customers , despite the atrocious weather

  20. Rumours abound, who knows the truth?

Still, less rain today and more flights in and out.

Maybe the tourists will start getting away by air now and don't need evacuating by sea.

Seems your Missus was right, Fella turned up in Sattahip a couple of Hours ago..

correct singer , watched thai news at mid day , after 50 hours of no lecky, watched people climb aboard then arrive in sattahip
