  1. the FA made a rod for its own back with the 25 man ruling. you can't tell clubs to have a 'first team squad' and then fine them when they choose to use it to its maximum.

don't really buy the holloway as lovely bloke schtick either personally, think he's a bit of a self-promoting wannabe hiding behind this west country buffoon front.

Definitely agree with second sentiment. I think he has 'blown his gaff' over this issue.

I don't think that the requirement to name a 25 man squad is the same thing as giving clubs a carte blanche to pick a deliberately understrength team with the expectation of losing, particularly if the club then goes and throws it that in the face of the League, a la McCarthy. The League were right to punish McCarthy - the last thing the League wants from a spectacle viewpoint (= commercial self-interest viewpoint) is a series of no-contest games between top and bottom clubs. The issue is parallel to the 'Team Orders' issue in Formula 1 - sport survives as a paying proposition on unfettered competition.

I expect that Holloway will be able to convince the EPL that he did not pick a team with the object of not competing (I saw it on TV - good game - QED) and he will not be punished - rightly so, we all agree that here*. The pratt needs to shut his gob though - he's digging a hole for himself and his self-promotion will be hiss downfall if he's not careful.

Top brass pillocks do not like to be publicly challenged and they will ultimately seek their revenge on Holloway (for his 'I will resign' brinkmanship), but not on this issue would be my guess.

Edit * meant - we all agree hat he should not be punished (I think ..dangerous assertion)

can one assume,? that the3 villa ---- 3___2 blackpool, was nothing more than a grassy knoll conspiracy

  2. and personally i don't give a monkeys if we get knocked out.

& there was me thinking the Year had a 1 in it...;)

Gutted about Brum really but in the cold light of day it may be a blessing if we are serious about staying up..

Ba Signs on a 3 Year deal, he has bad Knee & i'm noot a Fan from the Bundesliga Games i've seen him play this Year..

    Fingers crossed though..

Like you Mr Singh. I have to say I am bemused that a Spurs fan would not mind being knocked out of the FA cup by a London Rival. Mind you, after their last 2 performances and now without Bale - maybe its just as well.

Mr Singh, from what you are saying you would also be pleased to be out of it as well to concentrate on the relegation battle - so perhaps I could suggest you support Forest as well :D

It does not look like the game will be shown here in the LOS anyway - a pity ...

call itvwhat you like dsf. aint gonna be easy COYI

  3. ok then tiger, domestic cup triumph isnt good enough,

so what is?????? acceptable ,,,,,,,,,,,if we are to consider your silverware over the last 5 years??????

as opposed to the quality of your prawn sarnies ,

ps, did you ge any nice photos of jack wilsherses bum when he was warming up

  4. ........

Hey what a different side we look! now that's how to play away!

Awful playing surfaced mind... clean sheet for the lads too.

Made up, feels great to watch LFC again!

I almost put £100 on an outside chance for you guys to get relegated earlier today. Now glad I thought better of the idea. Scratchy first half but easy control by Liverpool in the second. Only Bolton had put 3 past Wolves at home so good result

    almost ---arsenal ,,,,,,, nuff said

  5. I was interested to see that the french could'nt seel out their 1500 allocation for the away leg at Leeds.

Pretty piss poor for the biggest supported side in London aye singher!!

    carmine, get with it .

arse and their "fans" have less than zero desire to win a domestic cup

all joking aside, id probly be more excited at throwing a six at farkin monopoly.

  6. I think more importantly you lot should concentrate on staying up this season,Dalglish has already had 3 games without a win....if....if another 3 of the same what will be your angle then?

The bottom line is that defence is terrible and needs sorting out before any heady plans of buying attacking supershites.

If you think there is a decent probability of Liverpool being relegated I believe there are decent odds - say 20:1.

The 'bottom line' is that the defense leaks 2 goals an away game and so must be terrible, the central field has lost Xabi and Mascherano so cant be that good and the attack is dependent on Torres so vulnerable to bad form or injury. So if you want to get back up to the top it really doesnt matter a hoot where you start.

Obviously if we were recruiting Suarez to avoid relegation we wouldnt actually be discussing things in the first place.

(I have no problem with you giving advice about how to avoid relegation given we are near the bottom of the table and you think it might be relevant.)

i think he was saying youre teams <deleted> , cutting a long story short

  7. Even Mourinho would'nt come out with that toss.

Yeah he's a bit smarter than that.

So what's the news on Huddlestone.....I thought he was back training end of this month?

Hold on smokes i'll just have a look....... iv'e got a webcam up a tree at the training ground in Chigwell :o

lovely, i was hoping we could all see sir dave doing star jumps, wearing one of those mincey neck things

  8. An absolute dreadful few days that are now over, hopefully..

Whilst other Club's Fans seem to delight in the undermining of their Manager, we don't..

The shennannigans over the past few days have seen the last few days as some of the darkest in my memory ( which is long & another Year older today actually..;) )..

The Owners have lost my backing fully, their actions have been a fcukign disgrace & have without a doubt inflicted far more serious damage on the Management & Players than we'll initially see..

But it's done now & relegation is nailed on, not by choosing to stick with Grant, but with the undermining & not having the balls to Sack him when that was clearly their Plan & when they refuse to accept responsibility for anything IE Their appointment of Grant in the first place..

However, i think we've dodged a bullet in not getting O Neill whether we get relegated or not, so all is not too sad..;)

Hopefully Grant can turn the Team's fortunes around as much as he has his own popularity levels & reputation over the last few days, but he's not a miracle worker & working with the crap he has, he needs to be..

defies logic all this shit, our owners are supposed to running an established epl football club,

recent actions and deecisions , tell me they couldnt run a fckckgin bath

yes all this means we are now farked and going down

2 daves and brady have dropped the ultimate clanger on this one

even grant cant polish a turd as big as this

at least we will have sheff utd away ;)

  9. The only one to come out of this with any credit is Avram Grant.

He inherited a crap squad. It was always going to be an uphill struggle.

He puts up with all this crap from Gold ,Sullivan and Whatsherface and still acts with dignity.

I grew up in the era of Ron Greenwood , John Lyle etc. they will be turning in their graves at this shambles.

I agree with all of that ^^, spot on..

sad to say , but sadly true.

    <deleted> :( is going on?

  10. Bit of a yawn. Times have changed when Man U play an entire second half for a draw. Dean is a plonker.

Not a bad assessment although we should have scored in the first half.....second half yeah I admit to falling asleep as well....and when SAF indicated to play more compact the game was over really.

Fair point for us though is decent enough no complaints. :)

, so any word on this MASSIVE sigmature striker?????

ya couldve done with the likes of suarez or benzema against 1 of your top "4" rivals . shall we call them. ,

    2bob deluded no marks :D

  11. what a shit day, all over,

and no i,d sooner grant stays , and is given , a realistic amount of time, as opposed to oneill

    and his tantrums

im not asking to win the league every year, only for a stabilised club that give 100%

    COYFI,!!!!:(

  12. I would have thought Roy would be a better manager in a relegation dogfight than Dalgleish will be. Was it just Fan Power that toppled Roy? Did the Yanks want to keep him in place until the end of the season?

It is exceedingly unlikely that Liverpool will be relegated. They are 5 points off the bottom which doesnt sound much but is quite a lot when you are at the bottom. They have 25 points from 21 games and they need another 13 from the last 17 games to be sure they will not be relegated. The season has not gone that well if you consider they made 63 points last season but they have made over 1 point a game so far and it is unlikely that results will continue to get even worse from here.

Actually nobody wanted Woy in the first place but it is one thing sacking and another taking responsibility for his replacement. The yanks original plan was to keep him in place I suspect until the end of the season. They figured as they didnt appoint him they would not be held responsible. However they didnt count on things going so badly wrong that it reached a stage that if they didnt sack him they would be held responsible. They still had the problem of who to replace him with while they were looking for a permanent manager. What they did not want to do was take the initative and sack Roy and say appoint Dalglish because if they appointed him people would expect them to back it up with financial commitment which they are not yet prepared to make. So they were very happy to effectively pass the buck to the fan base.

Whatever happens to Dalglish no blame will fall on Fenway, rather like no blame fell for Hodgson and they dont have to back him by funds. NESV have been very careful since the purchase to not take responsibility when they do not have the management and the resources to back them up. It must have been very tempting to walk in and tell Hodgson that despite the fact he signed a 3 year contract for a six month job they were not going to honor it and he could piss off but as it was going to be a shitty year for Liverpool they did well to let him hang his lack of credibility out to dry. And Liverpool fans do appreciate how much he has united all Liverpool supporters and the owners who winged him an email to tell him he was fired.

    Good points, good post.

Even as an Everton fan I don't think Liverpool will go down, but it could get very, very messy. And if you don't beat us, that will be 3 losses out of 3 for King Kevvy - sorry Kenny.

What do you think might have happened had Dalgleish been appointed instead of Hodgson?

And I wonder how that kid with the beach ball at Sunderland last season feels about subsequent events! Unless I'm wrong, that seemed to be when Liverpool plain ran out of luck.

doubt very much if any of them gave it a seconds thought,

7months ago he was dalglish the ex player

    today, hes king kenny again.

just dont be expecting any miracles

  14. I am soooo sick of this loan deal <deleted> and Beckham. I hope it isn't detracting from the search for a striker. Just seems that every affliated Tottenham website i read never seems to mention Cavani, Suarez, Llorente Benzema etc....just David <deleted> Beckham!!!!:realangry: Surely the chairman and manager understand that the whole Beckham thing and his media circus are an irrelevence to the importance of a world class striker.
