  1. ......As far as PayPal, open an account in a country where it works tied to a bank account there. Use

yoru ATM card in LOS to access it. Pretty simple.........

Paypal logs which ISP you log in on, so you need to log in from a paypal "legal" country

there are all kinds of ways to make money illegally selling bootleg stuff,

but when the shit hits the fan are you ready for the problems?

    sorry not me....

You can log in from Thailand. I do it all the time also.

When I log in to PayPal from Thailand I always get locked out...

PayPal doesn't allow accounts for people in Thailand neither does Netteller. They check your IP.. I have to connect to a Terminal Server in Sweden and then access the Paypal account..

  2. i get my bar t-shirts printed in bangkok, the shirts are bought in pattaya and are of a high quality, (not like these see thru cheap shirts) and then they go off to the printers for 1 small logo on the front and a big logo across the back.

5 colours works out at about 170 bht per shirt, (we have to order 200 at a time, around 34000ish bht).

just thought i'd bore you with that info.

    My 1 baht

Good quality T-shirts directly from factory with 6-colour printing for around 100-130THB depending on volume and size of printing.

  3. I wouldn't think to much about it. I mean how many webpages are out there, and how many do you think really sat down hours and hours and made everything from the beginning themselves, inlcuding text, graphics, design etc? I think that percantage is rather small.. Maybe not for a company who's risking to get sued if they steal any copyrighted material, but for the everyday people who just want to get their own homepage with their dogs, cats, family, I wouldn't care too much where I got the pictures, backgrounds etc.

For the helping part... I've been in one of the worlds biggest software companies for many years helping and supporting all kinds of companies and people with their problems and sometimes even taught them everything from the beginning. OK, I got paid for doing it... :o

For my own exeperience... I did learn by myself, on my first Commodore 20 then 128 then PC10, then PC20 then 386, 486 and so on... All the applications I use, I learned by myself. When you're 7-8 years old (many years ago) you're not afraid of trying anything and that helps you to learn (like riding a bike, you're not afraid of getting hurt). Today when I try to help people that are let's say over 40, they tend to be scared as soon as they touch the mouse or keyboard because they think they gonna mess up and destroy the... monitor (they think the monitor is the CPU...) and they use the CD sledge as a holder for their beer or coffe cup :D

However topics other than computers and Internet, I really would need som help with.. :D

    Cheers,

    Robert

  4. How do I solve the following scenario:

    Company in Thailand

Buying products from factory in China exporting directly to Sweden via agent.

Wants to invoice customer in Sweden from my Thaicompany and not agent in China.

    China agent invoices my Thaicompany

However how does it work with customs in Sweden? They get a packinglist and export documents from China, but invoice from Thailand? Does this work?

  5. Would this ever happen in a western country? At least not where i'm from. There the police have more important issues to take care of than harassing tourists who spend their long saved money on new year or any other day...

But then, this is not my country...

Just stay home in bed George. With bulk icy Chang's of course. :o

Hm, too bad I don't drink Chang. It doesn't even taste good when it's icecold... And now when Carlsberg isn't around anymore...

mrmnp, I don't think Sweden is the only country in the world vere a tourist are not required to carry around their passport. I could hear the customs/immigration in Sweden tell the arriving tourist "now you have to go make a copy of your passport if you don't want to carry it around with you, and make sure you get an official stamp of the copy otherwise we'll book you for forgery and for not carrying a valid ID..."

The police just doesn't go around bothering tourist who for some reason lost their way and ended up in cold (in many ways) Sweden..

In the street "-Oh, excuse me officer. I'm lost, can you please show me the way to the waterfestival?

-Hey dude, show me your passport first otherwise we'll take you to jail and make sure you'll see the festival with stars from close up.."

I've been travelling all around the world but never heard of the requirement to carry my passport around all the time, but then what do I know...

    :D

  6. Convert to linux open source....everything you need is free and explained in user friendly detail.

many types of server available on linux software.....do it yourself via lan.

Yeah the easy way to build a simple webpage...

Reinstall your win98/me/2000/xp to a Linux server because you want your own domain and a simple webpage, and now you connect the server with... a modem... so users can access your webserver...

Seems like the best and easiest choice...

    :o

  7. I never shut down my computer...

I would think that it's better for the mechanics in the harddrive to not shut down, then have to start spinning up every day. But turn off your screen/monitor..

But it would be advisable to restart your system from time to time to free up some memory that some applications never give back to the system when closing (memory leaks).

  8. Many of the web hosting companies have free web builders that you can use to create simple webpages with links, guestbooks, forms etc and they will also take care of your domain registration.

Look at http://www.fortunecity.com/ or http://www.freeservers.com/ as examples. You get 100-200Mb of web space, your own domain and emails for ~$9/month and they have web builders which will easily create some basic webpages for you.

Goto www.google.com and do a search for, +web +hosting +builder, and you will get quite some hits.

  9. Huah, could be many different reasons and could take hours to troubleshoot, but could also be as easy as just correcting a single setting somewhere...

What does the eventlogs show? Any yellow or red signs in the system/applicationlogs?

When did the problem start (if you check the eventlog can you see when it started?)? Installed any new applications? Do you have Anti Virus software ("pretty sure" doesn't count...)

What happens if you unhook all computers but 1 and the server and try to save a file? Could be a hardware failure on the server or a faulty network card on any of the other PCs sending a bunch of crap on the network which is clogging up the wire.

I would start by checking out the eventlogs on the server and you might get some info on what's going on...
