  1. one of the few redeeming factors in Rayong is Number 43 Italian bistro in the Kantary Bay complex at the beach

the food is simply delightful and better than anything available in Pattaya

  2. "The way section 911 reads is that you need to be outside the US for 330 days out of any 365 day period. This means that you can stay in the US for 70 days as long as you were outside the US for 330 days prior and remaian outside the US for 330 days after. The first 365 day period would end on day 35 of your visit and the next 365 day period would begin on day 36."

But if you try this and stay outside the US for 70 days, then you're making would could turn out to be quite an expensive bet that nothing would require you to head back to the States in the next 330-day period.

Agreed. I don't recommend this but it could be done if need be.

  4. I count several US guys amongst my group of friends, and I'm pretty sure that every one of them would back me in saying that the US Government does very little for "humanitarian" reasons. They lie, bully and badger their way with any country they please. The Thais are bang on the mark to be suspicious. Once you let the bastards in, it'll be a hell of a lot harder getting them out. Tell them to sod off I say.

No doubt this is what all of your SAS training has taught you.

  5. I just got set up with the e-file account but for some reason none of the pages would open when I went to try and fill out the report. I have the latest Adobe but dno't know what the problem could be. Do I need a US IP address?

I already did mine online from CM so you should not have an IP issue. You need to be more specific regarding the pages you are referring to.

What pages are you talking about? What steps are you taking?

I click the link file and a page opens with 2 options. 1 option to modify an existing report and 1 to file a new report. I click on the link to file a new report and a new window opens that just comes up and says about:blank. I waited 10 minutes and nothing moves from there. I have tried multiple times now.

  6. There is a bakery/delicatessen now in front of the Kameo House Apartments in Rayong. I stopped there with my wife today for lunch and I won't be doing that again. It's really more of a bakery than a delicatessen. They had some pre-made sandwiches (tuna and ham and cheese) and a soup and salad bar. The items on the salad bar looked fresh but the soup wasn't labled and I don't know what it was. The sandwiches were fresh enough that I didn't know they were pre-made until I walked around and saw them in the case in their plastic containers. We split a piece of cherry cheesecake after our sandwiches and that was delicious. I think this place is more for coffee and sweets rather than a meal.

  7. IMHO it's easiest to fly via Lao Air. It was more expensive but the flight only takes about an hour and a half. If you do choose this method, make sure that you have your transportation from the Savannakhet airport arranged. There are no taxis or tuk-tuks there. Also make sure to drink some Beer Lao...great stuff!
