  1. Heck most of the DETROIT cars are made in Mexico or Canada, thanks unions for ruining another industry!clap2.gif

Unions can't take all the blame here. The corporations themselves put bean counters in charge instead of anyone that actually knew anything about the cars or the manufacturing process. Complete lack of innovation and massive cost cutting led to <deleted> quality but the short term profits were great and those in charge at the time got big bonuses. Then came NAFTA and everything went to Mexico.

  2. Last week I was in the Jomtien location and tried the Jalisco soup (I think that's what it was called). Awesome. It will be a regular item for me.

Are there any plans to expand further to the East like Rayong?

No Jalisco soup. Do you mean the tortilla soup? Yes, it's good. Also the birria (beef not goat) is quite tasty.

No it was't the Tortilla Soup. It was something red with beef. Very spicy with an excellent flavor.

  4. Me, my wife, and our kids love ST. If the wife and I come to Jomtien the kids remind us to bring them some take out. We've been to Sam's and it seems to have gone somewhat downhill since it first opened. Perhaps it was just a bad day for them.

  5. Is this Saigon Bistro on the top floor of Central Festival? I've had the Pho their and I thought it was good but I've never had it anywhere else. I like the beef and onion sandwich. The wife and I make a point to visit whenever we are in Pattaya.

  6. Are Rayong and Map tha phut one and the same, if so i went to Map tha phut, they coundn't help me, as i just live in Chon Buri, they were very helpful and pleasant, went to Sriracha, ( I was the only westerner there, all the rest were from surrounding countries) to get my 60 day visit wife extension, they were also friendly and helpful, it must just be Jomtien thats just too busy, to have a friendly feeling to it. sometimes i wish i lived just a few hundred yards further south/east.

Yes Rayong and Mapthaput are the same.

  7. Mods, please move to the appropriate forum if neccesary.

I've gotten my Thai drivers licenses, my international license, and my US license. I've got a car and a motorcycle in my wife's name. I want to get the motorcycle into my name for runs to Cambodia or wherever else I feel like going. Does anyone know the process for this and what documentation is needed? I already have the residency certificate from immigration.

I would also need to know what documentation is needed to get the motorcycle across the borders and back. I've heard of something called a vehicle passport but I have no idea of how to go about getting one.

    Thanks to all in advance!

  8. I went to Rayong immigration today to get a residence certificate to put my motorcycle in my name. We got there just before lunch and I fully expected to be told to come back in an hour. Fortunately the woman remembered us from last week when I got the same paper in order to get my Thai drivers licenses. She was able to find the papers from last week and give us the new one we need with no fee. We were in and out in 10 minutes flat. Great job and many thanks to Rayong immigration!

  9. I got both of my licenses in Rayong yesterday. I had my US license, an international license, passport, visa, residency certificate from immigration. Each license was treated as a seperate case so I had to have 2 copies of everything. I had to do the vision test, the depth perception test (the 2 poles), and the brake test. I did not have to do any driving or riding tests or any written tests.
