It would appear, either Dad is clueless, or a pretty blatant liar.

A "good kid" doesn't write about his plans for mass murder including confronting a police officer, dousing him in gasoline and setting him on fire!

You missed another option TallGuy......his father was complicit in his plans.   I suppose being a blatant liar may come close to my assertion?

I recall the father of Scott Rush, one of the "Bali 9", saying his son was a "good lad", but when a it of work is done, he has convictions for a string of offences.

Absolutely right. People should feel free and welcome to express hostility to Islamist/Jihadist terrorists without being accused of being Islamophobes.

Similarly, people should feel free and welcome to express hostility towards white nationalist inspired terrorists as well without being accused of hating all white people or all Christians.

As muslims do at Friday prayers, hate preaching, and not being called to account.  If I called a Jew a pig, I'd be dragged tnhorugh the courts for racial vilification, as I should be, but it's done in mosques with impunity.

The hate us infidels, and are sworn to kill us.   They are taking over from within with less than 3% of the population in Australia, halal food (a religious tax).   They know how unpopular it is with infidels because the product isn't marked.   It's now on their website instead.

The demand, and get, closure of public pools on certain days so the women can swim without being in the prying eyes of us kaffirs.   What's to see when they swim in a potato sack??

They demand, and get, halal food in school canteens.  They demand, and get, pork removed from school canteen menus.

The demand, and get, Easter and Christmas not being celebrated in schools.

On it goes, and what we're seeing is the thin edge of the wedge.

Why would you think I have made a mistake on exchange rates. Forex rate today is just on 440/THB, when I went it was about 415 and I found an exchanger giving 400 and before I left that same exchanger was up to 410. Many of the exchangers were offering rates in the mid 300's but I did see some down as low as 200. They can offer what they want if they do not want the currency.

I said it wasn't easy to get around, not that it was expensive, I thought car and driver for the day quite reasonable. I was at the Peninsula Beach in Tanjung Benoa, not my choice, it was a time share exchange. Being on the peninsula there was only one way in and out. After the 3 days on the Kuta Kuta bus service we went to the rice terraces and up into the mountains but that was restricted because of volcanic activity. All very nice but I have seen much better here in Thailand.

Sorry, thinking of something else.   I guess the THB is seen as quite unstable currently, for whatever reason.

The rates will vary wildly from one moneyh changer to another, and I never use the hole in the wall types.    PT Central Kuta, offices everywhere, and a place opposite the Indian restaurant at Bemo corner, PT Dirgahayu Valuta Prima I think it's called, best rates, no funny money.

  4. Clever move by Moon

Obviously re-unification is the goal and the USA will have to move out.

So best keep Trump on board through flattery, his most powerful lever.

I'll put money on the US not moving bases from South Korea if the two Koreas are reunited.

    It's too strategically important.

There is a thread on TV currently. SK President wants US bases to stay as part of any reconciliation agreement.

    They're not going anywhere.

I went in December for a week, not impressed and wouldn't go back. Generally more expensive than Thailand and at the time we were there rates varied from around 200 to 410/baht so you had to shop around.

We went as the travel restrictions were coming to an end so it was very quiet, downside to that was the touts were worse than flies.

Kuta beach must be the dirtiest beach I have ever seen in my life and I have seen some pretty grim sights here in Thailand.

Getting around is not that easy but we got a 3 day pass on the Kuta Kuta bus which was well worth while. Unlimited travel for 2 for 3 days with the online discount was around 700 baht. Only problem with that was being on the peninsula we were another 500 baht over the 3 days for taxis to the nearest bus stop.

At the end of the day it is each to there own.

I think you've made a mistake if you're talking exchange rates.

Sounds like you stayed in Nusa Dua, about the worst place to stay, and isolated, so exepnsive to get around.

As I suggested above, there are plenty of nice hotels to stay in and arond Kuta, but you don't want to stay there too long.   Organize a driver online, on the street after you arrive, or my recommendation above, and get the hell out of Kuta for the north, and the sights, natural beauty, beautiful architecture, fascinating culture, great food, and few idiots from other countries.

I've lived there, and visited probably 100+ times over 39 years, and never tire of the place, each time doing some of the same things, and finding new attractions.  On my last visit, I visited the rice terraces of Jatiluwih, just magnificent, and up until last year, I didn't know they existed!!

Same here ! Leaving Thailand $hithole for another $hithole is beyong understanding.

I was thinking that only foreigners who live in the west and know nothing would go there !

You're going to the wrong places.   I agree that the south coast strip is awful, made awful by anti social idiots from most countries.

If you'd like to try again and want an itinerary, PM me and I'll set one out for you.  It really is a fabulous place away from the morons.

Never ending hypocrisy, about time for Trump supporters / those from the Right to stop whining.

Numerous times clearly stated criticism of Trump not necessarily driven by subscribing by left wing politics, but by Trump's truly awful behaviour.

    The right is whining????

The left haven't stopped whining since the democrats lost the election.

RFeminds me of a joke from mhy previous life.....What's the difference between a flight attendant (democrat) and a jet engine?

The jet engine stops whining when the aircraft is parked at the aerobridge!!

You mean another "unnamed official" said that Moon said that? Are you not one of the brigade that says any news from unnamed  sources in the White House should not be believed? Yet here you are wanting us to believe this tripe from an unnamed 'official' in South Korea.

    God give us strength.

I can't just give you strength Al.   Sorry.  I'm not God.....well maybe.

And a joke to explain.....what's the difference between God and a pilot?    God doesn't think he's a pilot!!

555555555! A pathetic lying draft dodger with balls of stainless steel???

    Again; 5555555!

    Did Trump draft dodge?

I suppose you'll quote this....  pay attention to the highlighted part.

It’s not fake news that Trump legally avoided military service the same way millions of young American men did during the Vietnam War.

Trump, who’s about my age, was granted four college deferments. Ultimately, he received a 1-Y exemption for heel bone spurs, an affliction that evidently did not impede his love of sports.

Didn't Bill Clinton draft dodge.....a democrat?   No, couldn't have happened, a man of integrity, a democrat!!
