  1. Anyone know where I can buy a few young mice? I've rescued a young python and before releasing it somewhere remote I would like to give it a meal or two.

  2. Not sure that "Pay for prosecution" is the term I would use. Pay a attorney to ensure that the case is prosecuted and to keep it active before the courts may be a more apt description. This description is based on conversations I had with the father of a girl who was murdered in Thailand. He felt, what I have described, was the only chance he had of preventing monies from changing hands and thus investigation/prosecution was likely to be put in the inactive file.

As I've written on here a couple of times before, unless you have the money therefore the influence to make the police do something, then forget it. It's acceptable to abuse and kill anyone, even babies as long as no one cares enough to force the authorities to take action. Sorry Ms Vont, but if you had read my previous posts, I do live here, have done for many years, and have had personal experience of a similar case.

  3. Election date is 3 july so it will most sureely closed from 2 july 6 AM till 3 july midnight. The week-end before it will have the same scenario as they have the early voting that weekend. Not to forget 15/16 July also for a budha day.

I believe this to be correct. Welcome to 'Amazing Thailand'!

  4. Thanks for that nikkoid66. Still the Plastic Bags is a start. I guess the reason for the bad smell after rain is most probably because all the waistwater from the toilets has overflown and is now part of the floodings. That will not change in the next 20 years.

They can`t build a proper Road in Pattaya, forget about a proper Sewerage ore Sewage Plant. Or did you ever see one of the nice Trucks cleaning Roads you see in Europe in Pattaya?

Guess I still will give you the same advice I gave in my first post here.

Pattaya has been a rat hole for over 15 year's to my knowledge. They used to pump crap into the sea then, Pattaya sea was a no no. Then they half sorted thing's out so they said, and I must admit for some time all was not to bad. Then it was let's put up more hotel's shop houses ect, with little or no infrastructure and this is the end result.

Must admit as a Farang you wont get to far complaining. Maybe a few word's at one of the Expat club's might get to some one's ear's who know's.

I used to live there moved out several years ago to another part of Thailand. That was because my young daughter was getting sick all the time. And a doctor advised me to get out and move some ware with less polution. Did just that and would you believe it now one well little girl. Pattaya could be good again if the people at the top didn't keep lining their pocket's and spent a bit. Question when was the last time anyone saw the beach being cleaned. If I recall it used to get done once a year by school children for the King's birthday. Just how much would it cost for Buddha sake, ten peep's wage's a few bt a day + they get to keep all the money from the recycled plastic glass they get. At least it might help a little. In the mean time just stay out of the water. And ramp up the old insurance.

The main problem for Pattaya is that most of the people don't come from here and therefore don't have any pride in the place. I think I remember correctly that at a previous national election, only 30,000 people were entitled to vote out of the probably a million or so who live here. The rest come down from Essarn to make as much money as possible and send it back home.

  5. I dunno, maybe it's just me, but it seems as though there are more and more disgusting stories coming forth from Pattaya these days; more so than just a few years ago. In the book, "Confessions of a Bangkok Private Eye", written by an Aussie who started his own PI biz some years ago to tail mostly Thai bar girls who were being courted by hapless male farangs while they were back in their home countries and shelling out untold sums to their true loves here, Pattaya is constantly referred to as being "Sleaze by the Sea". Based on what I read going on there more recently, it's only gotten sleazier. This story goes beyond the run-of-the-mill sleaze however, and sinks into an even more tragic category.

I agree, but I don't think it's just Pattaya, it's Thailand as a whole. Human life, even a baby's is worth nothing unless you have the money to pay for a prosecution.

  6. Gulf of Pattaya? Maybe you mean the Gulf of Siam? About five or six years ago, the Bangkok Post published the result of a pollution study of all the main beaches here. I seem to remember that many in Phuket and others on the Andaman Sea side were upto European standards for safe swimming. Here in Bangkok's toilet, things were less impressive. One thing that suprised me was that Pattaya beach was considered 'half way up the list' whereas Jomtien beach was the most polluted in Thailand.

  7. Do it Thai style, buy a few of the props they use in the Walking Street sex shows. I'm sure the string of razor blades or even half a dozen gold fish would be enough to deter most people!

  8. Not true. I could point out several villages without soi dogs, including where I live. If there are soi dogs in the village, management obviously don't care. This is very typical of villages where the builder is holding on to the village management. Those villages usually have other problems than that; anyone coming and going at leisure, lax security and resulting burglaries, etc. Few people think about this when they buy a house but I think if you're buying a house in a village, the village management should be one of your key concerns.

I agree, my village doesn't have stray dogs and all resident's dogs must be walked on a lead and any mess cleared up. General management and security are, in my opinion, the most important things to look at before moving in.

  9. Whether the marks had been there for some time or not is irrelevant. The fact he has them is not. Someone did it, if the guardian can't give an explenation then he should be in jail awaiting a court hearing. But, this is Thailand, I had personal experience of a similar situation a few years ago. An eighteen month old baby was beaten into a coma by his father, the mother watched it but did nothing. He survived that, just, and my wife and I paid the hospital bills and took the child to live with us as the mother is related to my wife. The child was severely brain damaged and died a couple of weeks later. Once the police had realised that me, a farang could not be blamed for it, they lost interest. Unless the family pressed charges and paid the police to do so, they weren't interested! I contacted the local 'media mogul' personally but his media organisation wouldn't get involved. Maybe I was wrong and should have paid a couple of hundred thousand to have this prick prosecuted. I got a little satisfaction by beating crap out of him and he moved to Chiang Mai. In Thailand life is worthless, unless you have money and influence even murdering babies is acceptable. I fear the suffering of this boy will go unpunished.

    No, friend....

murdering babies or any human is.... never acceptable here in Thailand nor any place else....

It just takes a lot longer and a lot more efforts and time.... in countries such as Thailand and some others in Asia.... to proceed with the case....

but if you lost your will and your patient.... the case could have ended there.... where your will.... withers....

The wheel of justice just grinds very slowly in most developing countries.... to the utmost dismay and despair of most westernized citizens. :jap:

I can't agree with you Vont. The case to which I refer happened 3 or 4 years ago, the baby was cremated, no one has been prosecuted or even investigated.

  11. Went to see her yesterday and came away with a bag of her assorted products. She is who I thought she was. Had her prawn vindaloo last night with pullao rice and a nan. Very good, though a little too hot for me, I'm suffering this morning. Will be chicken korma this evening!

  12. I think Fon was married to one of the partners in 'Big Joe's English Food Co' which apparently collapsed a year or two ago. I haven't seen her for a few years but if I'm correct, that is where she learnt how to create western food. I wish her success.

  13. I hope she returns, I too love dogs and have four living with me now, all found on the street. One of the things I hate about Thailand is their complete lack of empathy towards animals. I think it was Gandhi who said 'you can judge the civilisation of a people by the way they treat their animals.'

  14. Ive seen a few wandering about up by the sports stadium on Chaiyapruek 2 from time to time, also at the side of the railway line between Khao Thalow and Nernplabwan, and at the side of the road near the water authority office, stop and ask their minders, am sure they will sell you one!

    Thanks for your prompt reply.

  15. Anyone know where I can buy a young goat in the Pattaya area? We were given this one recently and although a great lawnmower, bleats alot maybe because of loneliness. I enclose a pic of my goat to show this is a serious enquiry!
