Yeah, was wondering what happened to TITS, they had some goodish dj's for a while there, but as with any Thai medium that involves a dj with volume controls in their hands you had to be careful as to when you tuned in. After 5 was particularly bad.

Do these Macbooks/pro get hot?

My windows laptop never gets hot and can stay on my lap all day long.

I can't use mine on my lap it gets so hot. When mentioned to AppleCare they said yeah, it does run hot and isn't really supposed to be used as a 'laptop'.

Say what?? was my response.

Will be interesting to see if the replacement they have offered runs as hot.

H4, crappy but cheap. Good enough to get by, if you can get on a machine. Which manager do you refer too? There are plenty of less than perfect farang in that place, so its no wonder the guy gets peeved occasionally.

... For example... just had battery and hd fail and replaced (less than 1 yr old); time machine backup implemented today and all the old problems re-emerging... I just had to ditch the expensive magic mouse for a 2 buck chuck mouse because it started to take forever to drag curser across screen....

Really, you fanboys make it sound fantasticall and all that... but as a switcher, I'm finding it far far far worse than any windows machine I ever ownedd.

This in itself make Mac ownership a wonderful experience

Absolute opposite experience here. Unbelievable beyond words. So bad I started a blog about it. Will post the link when I get a pc that functions well enough to edit etc as smoothly as should...

This MBP is a total piece of crap. Worst machine Ive had since.... no, haven't had worse.

Volume is an issue on my iphone too.

I've had an absolute nightmare with my MBP. Batt and HD just failed within 2 days of each other. Prior to that constant issues. One weekend I logged 7 restarts because of crashes - and thats just while I was home.

And to top it off, when I picked up my replacements yesterday from MacCare Chiang Mai, they had put the replacement HD in someone elses machine and tried to give that to me. dam_n lucky I checked.

Am about to do the time machine recovery thing... will be interesting to see how that goes.

DB are doubling referral bonuses, apparently retroactive too (up to 32gb??); they getting ready for Google drive or whatever it is thats on its way.

Nope, but give it some time, esp if your uploading here in TH where it is pretty slooooow.

Some people have gotten multiple gigs by using the Adwords method, but I couldn't be arsed with that one yet.

Basically, install the experimental version of dropbox - they have one for most OS's.

This will then auto upload your pics/vids to a 'camera uploads' folder when you plug in your smartphone - up to 3gb.

Two good hacks for this are to:

1. Create a 'DCIM' folder on a USB device, copy any pics or even a downloaded vid to that folder. Unpug, re-plug; contents should then auto upload. Then delete uploaded files, and that free space is yours, free, forever.

2. Just take a vid (by leaving your vid-cam running of your desk, for e.g), and have that auto-upload.
