  1. i think you reply so funny all. :D

but it is hard for me to understand some of the language?

even in my idiom book they do not have it. :o

DaveThailand - are you saying that you want to have a BF - Blues Factory in Chiangmai?

If that is what you meant why did you not say it.

Now that nice Dr Pong Man may have to find some medicine for you if your friends write the truth here?? :D

  2. Which looks better? Rydges or the frame that sat there for years and you didn't notice?

    IT

yes i remember looking at that eye hurt for many years.

yes i too remember when the rydges almost suddenly appeared.

if the frame was already there and rydges have not made it any bigger - or have they? - why was there a fire at the guesthouse?

what is NOW where the guesthouse was?

  3. Sabaijai

just to be clear i was not doubting your story.

it is truly a BAD BAD thing to be happening:-(

makes me wonder why so many people can go to the temple one day and think to do things to make more money and not care about anything else the next :-(

  4. CTG how many people attacked you? Sad to hear you were just left there

it was a boy and girl on another motor bike.

    came along side.

made a pull at the bag

pulled complretely off the bike on the main Sukhumvit Rd

    very lucky not driven over.

just left there until a man in the restaurant near the road came and then went to the hospital.

had to pay for that and to make the bike better too!

yes it was not the best thing to have the bag there .

this type of thing was not very common but now all the bad people that used to sell pills can not because of the Government making it hard so they have to be thiefs.

    it is very sad.

saw in the newspaper yesterday more things the same every day according to the Pattaya Police :-(

  5. I sure won't be suggesting that hotel to anyone, with that kind of Karma attached. And if I do hear someone recommend The Rydges, I will surely provide some balance to that suggestion in the form of relating that story

    Be careful:-)

    Is the story proven?

i thought the owners of Rydges were Australian?

hpow do they operate in the way sabajai described?

    interesting story......

  6. I also agree with your choices there. Other "out of place buildings should surely be the Sheraton, ex Westin with the condo building and hospital beside it. Ruining apotentially beautiful piece of riverbank

But providing jobs, income, facilities for thousands of people.

There is plenty of riverbanks in Chiangmai to look at?

That area is a commercial one?

You can describe ugly as any of the many once white builings that are never painted or looked after and go black.

have a look at the row near to the large sonysign on hang dong rd?

  7. But getting back to the OP's question, inside the city of Chiang Mai, there's a certain "heat sink" due to urban heat. In contrast, on the windward side of a mountain, 10km from town, it might be several degrees colder

    Absolutely :o

Add about 20 degrees if you include walking near the Night Market :D

No wonder we get colds a lot. :D

    Either way original poster.

CM is great at this time. Come.

  8. Erm....high speed affects the wind chill factor, although it doesn't affect it much above 15 degrees Celsius.

maybe but does not affect actual temperature:-)

i went to the buffalo market one morning and had to keep stopping it was so cold!

  9. All last "winter" in Chiang Mai, I rode a motorcycle through the countryside at high speed, and kept close attention to the temperature at 6:30 am. The temp. in CMai never got below 18 degrees, Celsius.

That is totally not true. sorry but check the actual weather station stats.

What difference does "high Speed" make to the temperature.

I too rode at low speed and wore hat, gloves two shirts and an imported fleecy top and was still cold.

Temperature is also relative to where you have arrived from and how your body is used to.

Oct - Feb is really beautiful in the North. cool evenings and hot days.

it can be down to 6 at the top of a mountain if you plan trekking?

But sorry never below 18 is wrong.

  10. Not all agents projects have websites. those that do are aiming at overseas buyers especially if $ pricing.

you will pay more at those but will give you an idea.

There is no shortage of houses.

rule one is RENT RENT RENT first.

Once you buy, if you are able to you can not just sell again easily like in US or Europe

  11. [...snip]The only one thing for sure is Tony beer is very disgusting.

You haven't been there in a long time?

Tony hasn't been selling "Tony's beer" for about 8 months now, since he sold his brewery in Bangkok. The basic beer now is Chang

    Guess he agreed then :-)
