  1. Make no mistake, the Yamaha MT07 is a truly awesome bike.

Hired a new one in CNX , rode down 118, through the mountains.

Great power and torque. Smooth engine , great gearbox and brakes.

    Very comfortable.

    Useful gear position indicator.

    Confidence inspiring handling.

    Sad to take it back

What other bike in LOS can compare with this?

    Just saying.

I am hearing this a lot. This bike supposed to be the best in it's class.

  2. The arrest was made after about 100 police and troops surrounded the apartment at at 1:30 pm.

It's a given fact that Thai cops are inept ... but needing 100 to arrest one man? Hilarious.
Boring comment. And what would have been your comment if the guy would have escaped? The guy rented multiple rooms so there could have been a lot of people involved. It could have been a large gang hiding in that apartment block.
  3. Well they were under pressure to arrest somebody... anybody. Now they just have to plant and fabricate evidence. Case solved.

Dont be so insulting to the dead

Where in his post is he insulting the victims?

I think you are more insulting than Reigntax as you don't even consider the injured.

Shame on you for being assumptious and rude to all victims.

Closing a case by using a scapegoat IS insulting to the victims.
You mean like the RTP did in Koh Tao.? Similar situation, under pressure to find an answer, many false and misleading statements by authorities and suddenly they announce they have an arrest.

He may not be the bomber but he will certainly be charged with it and the evidence, if allowed to be examined will be as flimsy and concocted as the KT circus.

See, investigations are supposed to be based on collecting evidence and this evidence leads to a suspect, not first identify who you want the suspect to be and then collect or by other means, produce evidence to connect it to the scapegoat.

Like it's never happened before Nicky has it? whistling.gif

That's besides the point Fat H. We are talking about whether it would be insulting to the victims or not.

  6. So many replies to this topic but not a single person saying

"Boy did I sound like a moron claiming that it was the red shirts"

    nor

"Gee jolly did I sound like a moron claiming it was the Junta"

Thai Visa members don't like to lose face.

that's because that is the last thing they have after they lost the first wife, the scoopie, the hilux, the first house, that 20k golden necklace, several buffalos, aso ;-)

    I won't give you a "like" but it's funny.
  7. I repeat... The very latest update from the Thai Police is that this chap is NOT the suspect bomber but part of the Network....which network they do not state.

I guess it is very clear to most of us that until now the only thing that is fairly sure is that the guy they caught was into bomb-making and passport forgery.
  8. A question re the photos that have been posted in this thread thus far:

None of the photos that I've seen posted here thus far seem to show any actual explosives or actual bombs.

But tonight, my wife showed me some photos floating around the Thai social media that showed what look like pipe bombs supposedly having been retrieved from this guy's rooms.

Anyone seen any pipe bomb photos from any credible sources associated with this guy's arrest?

BTW, I see the BKK Post's current web report is saying police did retrieve pieces of pipe from the guy's apartment.

You are on to something that has been bothering me.

There was one report that the police were showing photos on an iPad, including photos of the bomb materials. One photo made it on to this thread. It was a picture of a television screen from a newscast. On the right side is shown some pipe couplings and ball bearings.

This photo looks different from the others, and does not appear to be contemporaneous with the much publicized photos from the apartment. So one is left to wonder where and when it was taken.

As usual, the RTP and the media conspire to release information in such a haphazard fashion as to confuse everyone.

    Ineptitude or cleverness? Stay tuned.

  9. There are some real smart.ss people here who know it all even though they haven't seen all the stuff they found inside the room. I am with some Chinese people and they have shown me images already 2 hours ago that are slowly being shown here now. 1 of them is post 452.

And there is one real smart person here who is sure that this is only a human trafficking case.

And these Chinese people you're with who got these pictures 2 hours ago, received them from whom? Their connections with the RTP are what? Are you saying/implying that pictures are being "leaked" to some Chinese recipients ?

I'd have thought that the RTP would have had all this "explosives" on show during the press conference, none of the online national news outlets have these pictures at present, your friends must be pretty "influential" people wink.png

Not really. You can find them on Thai websites since for 4 pm too. Just had a look for you. You must have missed them; too busy explaining us what is really going on I guess...

got some links ? I'm genuinely interested, there's nothing on the BP or the Nation.. thanks.

look around on Thairath, Khaosod and tweets from the Nation. Some are also being shown here now.

  12. The suspect and the photo have many similarities. Same eyebrows and ears, similar facial hair considering the time frame, the same cheek bones. If this guy had a haircut, disposed of the glasses, and did not wrinkle his brow, he seems very similar. If they found bomb making equipment as well, it would seem that this man is more than just a suspect. Everyone puts the Thais down, no police force reveals all the facts and some of you posters have so much egg on your face, you could make omelettes for the masses.

    He just lost some weight.
  13. How on earth are they going to enforce that? I must use Line a dozen times a day - is there someone looking at my texts, and the cute chiwouha stickers my daughter sends me?

    He must be mighty bored!

On a more sinister note, could this be a pretext to close down social media?

DID you register your sim card? if yes then not to difficult to track you down with all your info now recorded via your mobile...

So now the gov want to stop the population from commenting on the constitution by criminalizing it. only people on the TV can comment their thoughts.

    Why are they so frightened?

When are the thought police coming?

They are frightened because self serving corrupt politicians spend loads of money on people who can spread propaganda fairly well... Thailand has been on the the brink of civil war just because of this. It is understandable that they are trying to avoid this.
  14. Although it says the poll was across the country, I'd like to know the regional variation and number of people polled in each area. I was in Phuket a couple of weeks back and everything was normal on the surface, whereas here in Isaan it's...less than free shall we say. Farang friends in BKK are very happy about the current set up, but when I ask Thais in my locale, although it's not easy to get them to talk, it's not far from a polar opposite of the south.

"he dared to speak and dared to act"

All we need to see now is "dare to accept questions from journalists".

He dares to speak and act. Yes very refreshing. The previous PM could only say: That will be the decision of the relevant authorities. You have to ask them. Oh yes, and laws and regulations have to be followed.... Thank you three times. Have to to go now.
  15. ahhh hahaha Thaksin is putting up more than the Junta, too funny. gigglem.gif

Now we are getting in the realms of real interesting tea money. Everyone has a price here, lets hope the amount keeps rising until someone cracks.

It's not the first time Thaksin has put up money as a reward to catch a bomber-and to date he hasn't had to pay one baht. Perhaps he knows why.
yep. Five days have past and the authorities still have no clue. Time for politics, trow in some rewards...
