  1. Group1 -They are wasted and old farang desperate to stay in Thailand. So they shack up with some old crone for the marriage visa so they can run a bar easier etc. Even that doesn't give you any citizenship and could end up being changed. Yet they steam ahead anyway with the house and 'land' they think they own. Go figure. I don't think many last, but TV would have you believe otherwise.

Group 2 - Another is they seem to think they are 'superior' farang with their trendy post-modern thinking putting them ahead of the curve. Some liken the effect that China is going to be the new superpower and they should ingratiate themselves to Asians with kids etc. This is often the younger farang, often British usually.

Now it used to be they wouldn't actually be stupid enough to knock up the local birds with kids. That was very unusual back in the 1990s and even the early 2000s. Yet nowadays with the liberal brainwashing and cultural marxism in full-swing more have fallen for this.

Apart from some Thai Visa posters who seem either immune to such things nearly ALL the farang I've known married to Thai women have ended up either dead, divorced or abandoned. Sometimes with the kids dumped on him!

The remaining one farang is in an unhappy marriage with his wife denying him any comfort in the bedroom (I've even heard he has to sleep on the floor)!!!

Thank my lucky stars I didn't fall for their BS and claptrap.

amazing how so many of your friends and aquaintances are losers. kinda makes me wonder

Not all, some were losers yes, they'd come here to try and get out of the loser-zone. Others were noble and decent types who became corrupted and twisted by playing 'lets pretend its fairytales and families'. Well when they cast the pearls before the swine they didn't realize they were putting stone into sand. After a few years it all goes slanted and pearshaped. The folks back in the day had the right idea; either keep your trousers on, or keep your trousers 'quiet'.

What you did not do was pretend you could copy the western ideal of marriage and transplant it to an Asian one. So many end up derelict, jailed or just destroyed because of their mental-delusion to maintaining an unsustainable dream etc.

Ok I've encountered thousands of farangs and only one has had a lasting marriage, even that isn't happy. His missus is a lady of leisure who utterly shuts him out of things, especially the marital bedroom so to speak. He isn't some loser either, she was from a merchant-background and not Isaan or a bargirl. His kids he dotes upon (not his missus who doesn't relate to them). His kids themselves suffer from cultural disconnect - they don't know what their identity is. That's another little gem many farang don't realize they are getting when they have kids. And he is one of the luckier ones!

Most of them do not even come on Thai Visa, if they did they might get a chance to step back. This is another reason the posters on here with their muddled half-half kids are the exception (if at all) than the rule. I know this isn't nice to read at Christmas, but we're in Asia, not Europe or the USA so some tough love is needed. smile.png

Nearly all my friends are married to ex bargirls. there have been two split ups which were from what I could see, the guys fault, and all the other wives seem to look after them very well.

'Seem' being the operative word. Just give it a few years (I know I did) then you'll see the cracks appear. Money does wonders to grease the wheels, but often even that can't fix fail in the end.

  2. Overstay on a UK Visitor visa and you are going to face difficulty getting another one.

I am grateful to Thailand for it it's Visa friendly approach. Taking my wife back to the UK was such a headache I decided that we would return Thailand rather than the UK when we retire.

Yes IF the Thai person is arrested and caught with the overstay or he happens to be caught in a Border-Security sting operation at his workplace. Normally they'd never show up on the radar otherwise. In Thailand the police checks are more thorough. UK police normally don't bother if stopped and searched.

  3. So you were surpriced that people react to your previous crimial behavior, strange people these thais....biggrin.pngbiggrin.pngbiggrin.png .

    Glegolo

Might the OP expect the immigration authorities in his home country to be tolerant of Thais with overstays there in their passports, I wonder?

Thais don't get checked on leaving the country for their passport visa dates.

  4. Interesting to see the guy on the platform merrily enjoying himself while a family man lies sliced in half nearby... Thainess?

So you're not allowed to smile within 50m of a body?

I think anyone who has empathy in such a situation would not be smiling. It's an absolute tragedy losing a husband/father like that on holiday and in such a way.

So very sad and NO I'm not smiling RIP

Does binjalin realise that Buddhists view death differently to christians? Yes Dave, it is Thainess.

Have you considered the possibility that your view of the world is not the only way to view death?

I have been to a few Thai funerals and have seen even the closest of family (to the deceased) smiling and sometimes even laughing as they remember their loved ones. Do you realise that they consider their time on earth to be a brief stopover on their journey to paradise?

I'm going to stop you right there, Buddhists and Thais are mutually exclusive on this. This is Thais knowing that they are Thai and that the dead man is a Farang, not one of them. Same for a lot of other things too where this is involved.

  5. An 18 year old is not allowed a pistol I believe in every US State. Legal age is 21. Pull a gun on a cop you die. End of.

Depends on what state you are in. In PA you can open-carry a pistol if over 18 but can't conceal carry until over 21 years of age (with a license).

This black punk was conceal carrying and DREW on the cop, but the cop made up for it with accuracy.

  6. An 18 year old is not allowed a pistol I believe in every US State. Legal age is 21. Pull a gun on a cop you die. End of.

Pull a firearm on a cop...you deserve to meet your maker, irregardless of colour, creed, sex or political belief.

Pull a firearm on a civilian...you deserve to meet your maker, irregardless of colour, creed, sex or political belief.

  7. sadly this is going to be the starter for 2015........so many good people in the US are being destroyed by the elites and their system

waving a gun at any police in the world is a stupid thing and there is really only one outcome....especially when the police have guns too

As an American I am confused by your comments where you say, "so many good people in the US are being destroyed by the elites and their system."

Some fool waves a gun at the police and is shot dead - such is life.

Because he is a cultural marxist like many others on here, he probably and thinks all guns can vanish into a machine in the sky if enough people ban them from private hands.

  8. I don't get it either - unless you want kids. All I have ever wanted to do is screw around as much as possible, with as many different beautiful women as possible, and not feel guilty about it. I have discovered that it does not work without money, but being married does not either.

you mean prostitutes. you sound like a 101 sociopath. i doubt very much that the woman you 'screw' find you at all attractive. maybe even repulsive. however your sociopathy will desensitize you to this.

PS the main trait of a socipath is lack of empathy/guilt. so your life style is well suited to your disposition

Who are you to judge him? Although many girls in Thailand are not prostitutes in case you are unaware, those that are, base their choice of clientele on a lot more than their attractiveness. Such superficiality and rudeness for Christmas morning!

Putting it another way, how many are not prostitutes?

Some of the younger farang idiots may land the occasional uni. student, but most are from the prostitute scene. This is part of the reason immigration makes it very difficult for permanent residency.

  9. The MIL has been rejected 3 times including the last time with the help of a lawyer so there must be something going on here that you are missing. This is the line that struck me:
My mother-in-law is widowed and owns a ton of land in Isaan that she farms.
All by herself? Does she plant and harvest the rice or whatever all by herself? If she indeed has a 'ton of land' she must have some help including maybe managers who can carry on the operation for an extended period of time while she remains, as in overstays, in the USA to help you and her daughter with the new baby.
Her farm superintendent can deposit the money in one of her Thai bank accounts and she can withdraw in the USA with her ATM card. I'm just guessing but I think something like this must be in the minds of the US Embassy folks who have turned down 3 requests.

What on earth possesses you to bring the MIL over to the states?! Good grief you should be thankful they dole out the green card like candy and you come on here wanting mother isaan goose to follow you into the USA?

Be glad with what you've got! If it's your wife pushing for this (which I suspect it is) then you need to make things clear and not be brow-beaten.

  10. Because they have been conned into believing marriage is the done, conventional, thing and to live with a woman out of wedlock is sinful.

Religion has a big part in this as do mothers who after all are female and marriage is something that gives a woman a legal hold over a man.

As in; he's mine now, hands off.

Men are suckers for this as they have mostly been brought up to expect to meet the perfect girl (for them) fall in love, marry and live happily ever after.

Woman take advantage of this, particularly the love bit where a man is besotted with their charms and other bodily parts and easily falls for the marry me darling.........

Works for some but ends in tears for others.

Have you ever noticed the voice as well? Some of them really put on a fake-voice at first to try and enhance the charm factor. Unless she has a fair voice to start with some of them sound like real growlers. lol.

But back on topic, the movies and adverts are partly to blame, young folks are more vulnerable to such things.

  11. I been living here 30+ years and years ago we never had to do 90-day reporting, then some years ago all of a sudden we were ordered to do the 90-day reporting. At first some of us thought it was some new law but then we found out it was in fact an old law that had been relaxed and then they started enforcing it again.

Been 90 days for at least the last 20 years.

Not everywhere enforced it. 2001 was the big enforcement date for much off the visa BS.

Actually he is totally telling it like it is, I've a lot of time for Uly, even if we don't see eye to eye on everything.

Without either money, dominance or charm you are nothing to a woman, Asian or European. The Asian women put the preference on money first and foremost.

For marriage if you have a steady pension coming in you are gold-plated as far as these women are concerned, purely because of the never-never income they get each month.

Some may be diamonds but they are one in a hundred-thousand typically.

You owe it to your family back home not to waste your heritage.

  14. Unless she is non-divorced material (previously) with no kids. Tell her to fck off. You don't own her anything. If you had kids to her then it would be different but I suspect you've been taking care of her kids as a subsy father.

You seem to be letting her wear the trousers, plus getting married to a Thai bird is a bit silly nowadays.

  16. I bought an electronic device in China. Good quality.

It cost 0.5 USD including shipping.

It needed something like 5 weeks to arrive but it is good. I also don't understand how this price is possible.

Because the Chicom government subsidises them. They don't care as long as money is coming in. That's one reason you have insanely low prices, plus the low quality occasionally arising also.

  17. He looks very genuine to me and the robes are not the wrong colour, monks do travel around on trains and buses. They do not beg for food they give the chance for people to make merit by giving, they do not need the food in most cases. if you think they go back to the wat after go into any malls and see them buying phones and laptops

Fake monk notice robe color. Many monks are just guys in the wat for a week or so and not really monks as opposed to the monks who live in the wat and do the begging rounds every morning.

Monks do not stay in the wat after the morning round - they can walk around as they please. And you can not take the robe color to see if the monk is genuine or not. The robes are bought in all kinds of small shops, so they color can vary a bit, just as police uniforms. If you see them eat after 9am, something is wrong though.(i spend a couple of months in a wat myself)

The monk in the picture is a clown, a shame the Farang in the movie is much smaller and does not speak Thai. He could have hit back.

Punching and attacking the monk probably would have gotten the Thais to stir into a frenzy. I agree he should have defended himself though. Perhaps for this farang he isn't a violent man though, just wants to get along and not want a fuss. The Thai people are behind him at least for his restraint.

  18. Everything in Thailand is overpriced compared with America.

    http://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/compare_countries_result.jsp?country1=United+States&country2=Thailand

This is the problem with someone trying to develop a website to compare any city in the world versus any other city in the world. They never visit, they never price items, they select a formula that they think may be close, or not. I have seen similar sites stating they can tell you what a 3 bedroom home costs in each city in the US. Having worked in Real Estate for 12 years, this can not be done by any measure of accuracy. The numbers posted for Pattaya, or even Thailand for that matter, are totally wrong in every aspect. They haven't a clue on prices here, unless you live in a small village without running water. Certainly if you live here, you can walk around, look at prices here, and come to the same conclusion that this is hogwash.

I lived in the USA for 50 years and Thailand for 20 years. The numbers above are correct.

I've lived in both countries and apart from eating out and sometimes rent, the numbers are way off. Once you enter the fly-over states Thailand is often similar in price, especially with all it's taxes on top.
