Not using their mobile phones for 15mins,as I'm a busy man 15 mins is enough for my ration book to get stamped.

It's a bit like the middle ages in Europe when the leech was the cure for just about everything.
Fast forward 500 hundred years same same but different the Thai Leech(antibiotic).

Interesting Hitachi make alot of the electrical motors for some of the other brands washing machines, I decided to buy a Hitachi 8kg washing machine, it was about 11,000 baht, it would be 18 months old now and has worked really well (touch wood), I would say for the price it does a good job. Previously I owned Fisher and Paykel washing machines and found them to be really good but they are expensive in Thailand.
Do you really think we'd take your advice on a washing machine? We don't want the local babies to start twisting and turning.
I nearly choked on my coffee when I read this one,for laughing too much, nice one.

Yes, I was wondering about the It, a bit like a thing or object, strange to refer to yur child that way.
True, also using "the child" twice as if he/she was created in some cellar laboratory.Nothing wrong with my daughter/son or our daughter/son.

But well, let's get back to the original topic, you live or want to live in Thailand, is it because you like the Thai people?
Or is it the weather?
No,No,No.
As it asks on the visa application form reasons for staying in Thailand or words to that effect,it's not the food, people, weather, temples, beaches, cheap this or that,it's to support my thai wife and my kids(family).Where does it state that I must like Thailand and everything in it and must despise my own country, yes I will gladly go back to my own country but the wife will need more convincing.

Rope Access is only one method to get to a work site. What would the OP do once he gets there??
hhmmmm start working?
As I doubt he has a degree in chemical engineering or geology its a foot in the door,it took me 2 years to get a start in the N.Sea they don't like to use green hands if they can.

To the OP.Avoid the Drilling side if you can,the pay is not as good as other off shore disciplines, unless your a back stabbing kok sucking yes man you will go far.As someone has mentioned before try rope access if your fit, save money and get as many inspection tickets under your belt. You have the option of working on shore as well if things are slack off shore also has a better safety record than the drilling side and a better working atmosphere in my opinion.

Why don't you share his interest in music and buy a banjo, then you can recreate the dueling banjo scene from the movie Deliverance.
