The man presented the document to officers at the illustration desk at the airport but they immediately became suspicious.
i picture that figuratively as being a long, drawn out affair.

Sichuan pepper is 花椒 right? Those things are about 2-3mm across, an adult would have to really make a special effort to choke to death on one...
those wee, tiny peppercorns give the 麻 ma flavor. tingly numbing sensation like novacaine. won't choke to death on one, or even a handful, but some people may be more sensative. too much makes your face go numb, a bit more can make breathing difficult.
but i think the doujiang uses sichuan chili peppers. not really spicy, more like a dry citrusy flavor. you can deep fry 'em and eat 'em like french fries.

And we still know what the word means. Can somebody comfirm that the Covid vaccine gives immunity? If not, it´s useless to use the word. Mockup or not!
if you'll notice, the word "immune" itself does not appear in either the op or the article by traveldaily that seems to be the origin of the photo.
even the op states "File photo: Travel Daily (for reference only)"
no government officials, no reporters, no editors used the word "immune." the passport photo doesn't appear to come from any government office.
blame the intern in the traveldaily graphics department for making a cool but fictitious covid passport illustration.

It´s really good that they print IMMUNE on the book. Is there anyone that can comfirm that?
i don't think the "immune passport" in the pitcher is real. just a photoshopped mockup prepared for an report about the israeli "green passport," copy-n-pasted into this article.

This is not enough of a solution. It needs a whole digital infrastructure to verify the document's authenticity, the continuing effectiveness of the vaccination, etc
cards
card readers
database
done.
it's not like we gotta reinvent the wheel. credit cards, passports, id cards - the technology is already available. you can even add blockchain if you wanna sound hip.
your card data will hold your personal information, date of initial vaccination and all boosters, vaccine version, manufacturer, lot number, facility giving the injections...scanned into the system from the barcodes on the vials.
the who can maintain the database with the various vaccines using information supplied by the manufacturers.

Haha that I know. Laowai from Shenzhen here too.
What surprises me even more than the question in this topic is how on earth you manage to understand Hainan dialect? I can speak Mandarin pretty well, and when I was in Sanya their dialect sounded like Vietnamese to me ????????
numbers and simple phrases. enough to get by in the market. hunny-bunny is even starting to pick up a little of the local lingo. funny part is our mandarin pronunciation is gooder than the locals, some of which can't speak standard a'tall.
thing is, asian countries are still pretty homogeneous. despite the interwebs and teevee and movies, most everyone around them is just like them. if 99.9% of foreigners have local wives/gf's, they have difficulty getting the concept that the lady that looks just like her is also a foreigner.
come to think of it, i can meet new local chinese folks, have a short conversation in mandarin, and then they'll ask (as they were trained in classroom dialogs) if i can speak chinese!

gosh, i think it was barely a year ago. this covids thing was a flu-like pneumonia possibly caused by a virus related to sars that was maybe transmissible betwixt humans.

maybe the same reason all the market ladies and shop sellers speak to my thai gf in local hainan dialect. confuses the heck out of 'em when i have to translate for her.
hainan and thai folk look similar, and it soothes the nerves of the locals to speak local dialect, seeing as how intimidated they are by my awesome hansumness.

Well lets just hope that Covid doesn't turn out to be one of those pesky influenza type viruses that rapidly evolves and mutates, so that a new vaccine is required every year, otherwise this proposal probably won't work, as it would require the production / updating of a new passport every year.
I mean there is only one strain of covid isn't there? (rhetorical question).
won't work? why not if it's an ID-card sized passport with embedded chip that contains data on your latest vaccination?
you've got credit cards, bank accounts? they're updated daily. you get your covid pass updated after each annual(?) vaccination or booster shot. card reader at airport immigration checks covid pass data with latest daily updated international movement requirements.
super easy...barely an inconvenience.

And around the 2018 midterms a lot of the MSM did extensive investigative pieces about how insecure the voting machines are. (Not just Dominion)
Here’s just one… NPR. Real Trump fanboys. In 2019.
Strangely, they've gone quiet now that the results have swung the other way. But I digress.
You can pull up half a dozen YouTubes of guys who bought current model voting machines at government surplus auctions, took them home and showed how easy it is to hack them. (Again, not just Dominion)
The NSA has been hacked. The US military has been hacked. If I’m to believe some of the Discovery documentaries, they have rooms full of people sitting at terminals to catch intrusions. Does Dominion? An Iranian uranium plant with an air gap was hacked. City, county and state agencies are hacked all the time.
Is it really hard to imagine that, even if Dominion did the very best they could, it’s possible some of their machines were hacked? Maybe the usual suspects, but just as likely to have been China or Russia or N Korea.
Bottom line, one side wants to do a transparent deep dive into the machines to see if there were any problems. The other side is resisting, kicking and screaming, claiming no evidence. What could they possibly have to lose by an open and transparent forensic analysis of the machines? If they’re clean- a lot of the animosity of the 40% of skeptical voters goes away. If they were hacked, it needs to be fixed before the next election.
Good news... The discovery process for these lawsuits.
clean machines? endless fishing expeditions? doesn't matter if they find nothing. "absence of evidence is not evidence of absence!" just means they haven't looked hard enough. the truth is in there. true believers truly believe, they trust the plan, they await the kraken.
the following is from fox news, so it must be true, unless they're also secretly part of the deep-state:
2020 election ‘most secure in American history,’ federal election security officials say
There is no evidence that any voting system 'deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised'
This election cycle was the most secure ever, despite a surge in mail-invoting prompted by the coronavirus pandemic.
A joint statement issued on Thursday by the Elections Infrastructure Government Coordinating Council and the Election Infrastructure Sector Coordinating executive committees said this year’s election marked “the most secure in American history.”

Why would anybody fly 6,000 miles to visit deserted beaches, shuttered attractions & closed bars/restaurants?
The impact that this pandemic has had on Thailand's once flourishing hospitality industry has been crippling.
Many businesses have shut their doors for good.
Not to mention the fact that many foreigners have also lost their jobs in the west due this virus.
Yesterday I took a stroll down Khaosan Road & Patpong and it was eerily quiet at both locations.
I spoke to a few locals and they told me they don't know if many places will ever open again.
It's going to take years to get back to any form of normality, for locals & westerners alike.
don't forget all the foreigners in the east. 1.5 billion chinese haven't all lost their jobs, and are ready to party once their government drops the restrictions on group travel, which could only happen after quarantine requirements are reduced.
vaccinations are coming, digitally-secure yellow-book certificates are coming. once the results of current studies on immunity and asymptomatic spread following inoculation are completed, quarantine can be reduced or eliminated and thailand can get their travel hubble operational.

how is this a "Thailand’s Chulalongkorn Uni" vaccine? they've bought some leftovers from a production run at a california factory or two.
this is like buying an off-the-shelf drone kit, adding some "amazing thailand" stickers, and claiming to have an indigenous space program.

they can sue for more than rudy's worth......now. that enables them to have the courts garnish his wages, and seize future earnings.
so when rudy writes a book, or gets hired by some conspiracy network, or maybe gets sponsored by some hair dye manufacturer or landscaping firm, his salary and earnings will be subject to the results of the prior trial.
consider OJ having to give the goldman's the majority of anything he earns in perpetuity, until he pays off the $33million court settlement.

"Why that? Dominion is not the accused.?
Rudy is the accused and is allowed to present a defense
He is likely to file a counterclaim (already in media)
There will be discovery conducted and the machines will (finally) be examined
i'm pretty sure it don't work that way. discovery can't simply be an open-ended fishing expedition.
and here's the thing; rudy and friends had 60 wonderful opportunities to discover the kraken, yet we're still left with nothing but volumes of baseless allegations.
but wait, there's more! or actually less, at least regarding these allegations. not only is there no evidence to submit, there is also rudy claiming in court, under oath finally, "this is not a fraud case."
yes, i'm sure good old rudy will file a counterclaim, but that will likely be rejected by the court, as with his other filings, as frivolous.

Then both sides will have a chance to present their individual cases."
Let the chips fall where they may.
Other than that, I could give a **** about either the accused or the accuser.
The only thing I give a **** about is a fair and equitable system of justice that still functions.yet the court(s) has(have) already decided, what is it 60 times already?, that these cases brought by the trump campaign, his supporters, and of course the kraken whisperer, have no merit.
the only difference between those cases and this one?
"why, yes, your honour, this is indeed a FRAUD case!"

and yet........................ over 70 million people voted for him.
Seems the Democrat candidate was so bad, TWICE, that millions preferred an incompetent, vindictive, mentally unstable, misogynistic, homophobic, racist, traitorous egomaniac over them.
this has me confused. why point out how many voted for trump, when his percentage of the popular vote was smaller, in both elections?
the democrat candidate was so bad, twice, that millions more voted for the democrat (or NOT trump) than voted for trump? that implies trump was considered worse, twice, although his election advisors were better.........once.
note: my vote in '16 went to "NOT HER"

Ford Ranger and Everest Recall for steering shaft
The defect is a weld on the intermediate steering column shaft that may not meet standards, consequently a failure could cause loss of steering and thus increased risk of accident or injury.
Ford Australia will write to owners of affected vehicles, or owners can contact their Ford dealer to book in an inspection. If the weld doesn’t pass muster, the steering shaft will get replaced.
Vehicles affected by this recall include Everests built from March 16, 2018 to April 6, 2018, and Rangers built from March 18, 2018 through April 11, 2018.
