@jvs I will see tomorrow what the police recommend me to do. In that 3 years i never had any problems and the guy who always repair my motorbike is in the same street but today he was close. If he open again i will talk also to him. Last year he made me a new tire and i paid to him 150 Baht for the tire and 120 Baht for the rubber.  Also one time i needed a new battery and i paid 180 Baht. So i was always very happy. But today his shop was close. So i should better drive home as to go to this shop. Its in the same street where his shop is. I think i will take tomorrow the advice from the thai police. When they say i have to forget it then i will forget it and take it as a lesson. The lady from thai elite visa callcenter told me that i have to go tomorrow to the next police station and tell them what happen. And if they dont understand me that i have to call the callcenter and they will translate to the police. Thats what i am going to do tomorrow

150 for a tire?  you sure the mechanic didn't sell you a used tire?  or maybe that was to patch up the old tire.  you don't think it strange a tire would only be slightly more expensive than an inner tube?

a decent bicycle tire will run about 500 baht or more, inner tube around 100.

‘I can’t stay here’ — Mick Mulvaney resigns from Trump administration, expects others to follow

WASHINGTON — Mick Mulvaney, President Donald Trump’s former chief of staff, told CNBC on Thursday he has resigned as special U.S. envoy to Northern Ireland.

“I called [Secretary of State] Mike Pompeo last night to let him know I was resigning from that. I can’t do it. I can’t stay,” Mick Mulvaney said in an exclusive interview on “Squawk Box.”

“Those who choose to stay, and I have talked with some of them, are choosing to stay because they’re worried the president might put someone worse in,” Mulvaney said. But he said other officials may resign after Wednesday’s riot at the U.S. Capitol.

I was shocked but not surprised when I saw what was going on last night.

It is of course right that people have a variety of opinions - that's how good decisions are made. However, I just can't get my head around how any sane person could ever have been a Trump supporter.  How people can be so far away from mainstream thinking is beyond me.  Even worse is that there are so many of them in the US!

With hindsight, is what happened in Washington so surprising?  Earlier this year we saw footage of armed US citizens standing outside state buildings protesting against lockdowns - some dressed in military uniforms with what appeared to be assault rifles! Were they arrested and charged?  I don't think so because I don't think what they did is actually against the law in the US - amazing.

If the protests were never intended to be violent, why were so many of the protestors wearing crash helmets and full face coverings?  Why did some have irritant sprays? Some were seen to be scaling walls using ropes - would you usually take ropes along to a protest? It was clearly planned from the start.

Many of the groups that support Trump are known White Supremacists and others are clearly racist.  Trump is very clever when he refers to these groups , he never actually condems them.  He applied the same rational in his video broadcast last night where (after the violence had happened) he asked the protestors to go home then launched into another speech about the election being fraudulent.

Is this the America that Trump wants to make great again?

good questions!  especially about the ropes.  who takes ropes to a protest?  whatever could they be planning?

Put that down to another of his lies. Mark my word, he will continue to resist with words and deeds. This man is beyond salvation.

he's a tricky one.  he never actually said this....being a tweet on someone else's account....and never mentioning biden or the new administration.  just a transition.  and technically since there is an election, he could be referring to the transition from his first to his second term.

i can't find a quote right now, but i recall a couple weeks ago he made some reference to a transition, and when asked if that meant he was conceding, he said something like "we'll see" and that it could be the switch to his second term.

    **edit**

    maybe i'm thinking of pompeo:

Earlier at a State Department briefing, he said: “There will be a smooth transition to a second Trump administration.”

obviously i don't know quite what trump said:

Trump said: “Get rid of the ballots, you’ll have a very transfer — you’ll have a very peaceful — there won’t be a transfer, frankly. There’ll be a continuation.”

Only takes one virus and a single infection to start a global pandemic.

An infection that will go down in infamy.

nah, we've lost all credibility blaming china.

but let's just for giggles grant you the chinese covered it up, hid the virus, abducted doctors, and threw whistleblowers into re-education camps.  that was way, way, way back at the beginning of january, when there were no known cases is 'merka.

but what difference, at this point, does it make?

our nest of spies at the ground-zero consulate in wuhan delivered live streaming updates of the local situation.  the full-spectrum dominance landscape on the roof of the consulate was busy collecting actionable intelligence.  our great leader was given a tippy-top secret briefing around the middle of january where he was warned the virus would be his regime's greatest national security issue.  "we" knew the actual situation, not what was reported in the mainstream press or the falun gong disinformation sites.

trump chose to do nothing but cosmetic feel-good performances for his base, decidering to keep the factories running rather than face the facts of the virus, holding superspreader events and making the wearing of masks into a political statement.

an extra week of warning would have been meaningless with trump at the wheel.  consider we're nearly a year in, and his minions are still refusing to wear masks, and likely will refuse vaccination.

go ahead and blame the chinese.  you can even blame the ones in wuhan that (possibly belatedly) dealt with the virus and are now holding maskless pool parties and enjoying a resurgence of tourism, but what will go down in infamy is a us president being fully responsible for half a million unnecessary american dead.

Seoul confirmed the seizure of a South Korean chemical tanker by Iranian authorities in the waters off Oman, and demanded its immediate release.

Several Iranian media outlets, including state TV, said the Guards navy captured the vessel for polluting the Gulf with chemicals.

has anyone bothered to confirm the vessel had been leaking chemicals?
