  1. While Biden was in Congress, which is basically most of his life. Besides, presidents are not powerless in influencing lawmakers. You can't have it both ways, Biden bragging about his achievements, like the Infrastructure bill or that bill about the chips industry, and then suddenly he is powerless for the laws he didn't manage to get through Congress. Like any serious voting rights bill.
  2. Why do you think Biden will never pardon Trump? Biden is a lifelong career politician that whatever happens believes in bipartisanship and healing the country. And his promises mean zilch. Remember Biden promised, on the campaign trail, to turn Saudi Arabia into a pariah state? We all know how that worked out. The fist bump, begging for lower oil prices, and granting MBS immunity. That's simply who Biden is.
  3. You might want to have a look at some statistics. Trump added 7.8 trillion during his four years, Biden will add c. 7.6 trillion. Biden had a budget deficit every single year. Just look it up, it's not hard.
  4. It was in 2020. Trump gained 10 million more votes than in 2016.
  5. The Garland DOJ handles these cases very differently. In 2021 Ms Lavarello was sentenced to three months in jail pretty quickly and efficiently, Trump was approached with hat in hand, please Mr President, give us those classified documents, essential to national security, back? Please? That took a year and a half. And still DOJ doesn't know that is has everything back, and certainly doesn't know what has been done with those documents in all those years. Apparently national security is less important than they would make us believe. I would have scanned them, put them on a microSD as big as a fingernail, and sold them to whoever is willing to pay a big price. But I'm not American.
  6. I totally agree. For eight years I've been following American politics, and I've slowly come to the conclusion they've painted themselves in a corner. So many laws, acts, Constitution articles, basically seem to be inoperable.
  7. 'Trump slept with a porn star'? There's no evidence of that. In an interview with Vogue, Stormy Daniels stated that the 'sex' lasted maybe 2 minutes. She didn't reveal if there was any sleeping together after those 2 minutes. There is some evidence though, that Trump was sleeping in the courtroom. And farting.
  8. The difference being that America has an almost pure two party system.
  9. Of course the electoral college can be abolished, it just needs political will. But there isn't, on both sides. So you're stuck with a load of archaic, ambiguous rules, and maybe you think that that is beneficial to your idea of democracy. Where presidents are elected by c. 100.000 votes in swing states, while having millions less in the popular vote.
  10. I shouldn't do it, but here's my prediction for the November elections. 74 million American adults voted for Trump in 2020. Not many will have changed their minds. Voter turnout was 66% in 2020, but will be much lower this year. And that will hurt Biden more, especially because of his abhorrent Israel Palestine policies, and voters staying home or voting blank in battleground states. The archaic electoral college, that Biden has never even attempted to change of course, will do the rest. Predictions are difficult, especially with regard to the future.
  11. I'm looking at this as a non-American. I think far too much grandeur and prestige has been offered to the presidency than rationally is necessary. It's like Americans are/were longing for a monarch. I compare it but probably mostly wrongly, to the 'imperial presidency' of Francois Mitterrand. I believe the French have redressed that, and putting a convicted former president behind bars would be a step in the right direction for America. Just my opinion. By the way, I'm convinced that Biden, if still president when the serious federal cases result in convictions and jail time, will pardon Trump.
  12. Most likely Trump won't be locked up. I think it will be probation, six months or so. Why? First time offender (yes, I know, ridiculous), white and wealthy, and of course the inevitable deference, servility, to a former president.
  13. Personally I'd like to see the rule of law at last take it's course, and Trump face the consequences, like anyone else. That last bit seems to be the problem with the American legal system. Trump has gotten away with so much his whole life, it boggles the mind.
  14. Ulbricht? Interesting name. I once did a job on a small East German coaster, and Ulbricht's portrait was on the wall of the captains cabin. 😁
  15. Well, Trump pardoned a war criminal, so you know where that goes.
  16. Despite Trump's endless statements that he was going to testify, to tell the truth, he declined at the last moment. He wasn't denied anything.
  17. Do you mean Trump was denied to testify?
  18. Garland wasted a year and a half before finally having the courage to let a special counsel going after the plotters of the failed coup. Garland, handpicked by Biden. What an embarrassment of enormous proportions.
  19. Ask the grand juries that approved the indictments and then, if you have the time, read the indictments.
  20. Don't be too sure Biden will win the election. Biden is doing all he can to loose voters, with his handling of inflation, his abhorrent policies re. Israel -Gaza, and his general complacency. Add to that that Biden has achieved nothing of substance regarding voting laws, nothing of substance with regard to putting the coup plotters before a judge and is uniquely uninspiring as a person, and you'll see why voter turnout will be very low in November, handing the presidency to a corrupt fascist.
  21. Mob rule was Jan 6 2021, at the Capitol. You're truly clueless, aren't you?
  22. Where I come from legislation, or resolutions, or motions, can be brought to a vote if a third of the members of the Chamber agree to a vote. Then of course anyone can express their opinion, in public. Simple and effective.
