Anybody any idea why they run out of beer at 7/11 for 4 weeks now? No Leo / Chang / Singha no bottles or cans nothing? At one 7/11 they replaced it with small bottles of wine!

What a lot of people don't realize is that if you are overstayed for one day or 20 years AND the police stops you, it is a CRIMIMAL OFFENCE and you will go to jail = Police
If you go to the airport and you overstayed for one day or 20 years you just have to pay a fine TB 500 per day with a maximum TB 20.000 (maximum even if you are 40 years overstayed) = Immigration
That is why everybody will tell you, do a visa run even if it is only for one day.

As far as I know you should ALWAYS carry you passport with you in Thailand, so it is a 'normal' question.
I have a copy of EVERY page of my passport in my Dropbox so I can show them my visa if requested.

Get the bloody Dutch in , then u not need a flood forecasting system . But no they been to Bulgaria to work together on watermanagement .
I think the problem is that the Dutch are not that keen on corruption .
We already did that, guess what happened with the report?

Even without an University degree I can predict it, heavy rain in the North means flooding in Bangkok later.

What is wrong with it? Sometimes replacing broken elco's solves the problem. Just have a look at them and see if they are broken yes / no first.

What about all those cars, trucks and busses - sometime I need to switch on my lights to see where I am...

100 times better than all the movies I have seen over the last few years!

If you have a smartphone, configure it as a portable hotspot and connect your laptop / desktop to it.

Is it not possible that if we catch a dealer we can force him to eat 1kg of his own tablets first?
If not, can we make a law for that?

Just like in any other country, ask your landlord to fix it (don't see that you asked that)
-
Take a songtaew / local bus or jump on the back of a motorbike, eat on the street, go to the local market, buy food from food vendors on the beach and sleep in a cheap Guesthouse and take life as it is in Thailand - mix with the locals...
Don't complain about the heat / food / traffic / bad hotel rooms / no water/ no electricity / blackouts / speeding / corrupt policemen / stupid design etc etc don't forget you are NOT at home you are in Thailand.
For me it looks like you travel from one 4/5 star hotel to the next 4/5 star hotel with an aircon taxi, bus or minivan - better stay home and watch Thailand using YouTube, much cheaper as well!

Have a nice Excel sheet that calculates everything for you but have no idea how to upload it for you, anybody any idea????

Maybe I am the only one but I agree with the fact that foreigners are not allowed to own land in Thailand.
For the same reason I do not agree with German nationals who own land in Switserland, English nationals who own land in New Zealand, French nationals who own land in Denmark or Swedish nationals who own land in Malaysia - I can continue for one hour but I think you go the point.
Land belongs to the people who legally live there and have a passport and it does NOT belong to people who are just have money to buy it!
Actually, land doesn't belong to anybody in any absolute sense. The concept of "ownership" is just shorthand for right of use conferred by social consensus. In the same way, nation states and their boundaries are mere matters of social consensus. Further, in the state of nature, everyone can live wherever they like and that state of nature is enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human rights, which guarantees the right to residence without condition. So to say that land belongs to the people that legally live there is absurd.
So to say that land belongs to the people that legally live there is absurd.???
Why?

My recommendation:
- look first what is available in your area, TOT / 3BB etc.
- call them and ask for quotations and SLA
I never heard that business connections are more expensive than company connections...
-
Just stay polite and report your problem and wait for the 'magic' to happen!
My connection got disconnected 10 times a day for two weeks, call them every once and while and suddenly it works again - frustration yes for sure but at least it works again..

>> The only reason I'm being a pedant about this is that the company has/is screwing many other foreign and Thai workers out of money and I don't like that.
So why do you want to work for him AND do you think he will not screw you as well????

Gmail update this morning - be carefull
in Mobile Devices and Apps
Posted · Edited by Cloggie
This morning I received an update for the GMail app on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus, I push "install", then it asks something about "Sync is switched off, do you want to switch it on", I say "Yes" and immediate, without any warning, it reboots - strange I think, it should not do that. Now, hours later it still reboots and my telephone is useless now![:( sad.png](//forum.thaivisa.com/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png)
Looks like I need to bring it back to Samsung today so please be careful if you want to update your phone today.
