  1. probably they have NO purpose. they were put there by a contractor, someone "behind the curtain" made a quick buck and fled the scene ;-)

and before u say this can only happen in thailand, there's plenty of ghost bridges in the rest of the world.

NO NO this is for the next olympic winter games after sotschi. IOC received already there tea money.

  2. after living here for a few years, i love to go back to ol' europe every year.

would i still fit in the system, the over regulated society, the enourmous cost of living? --> yes, better than the under regulated society here.

i like it here because of the weather.

i can water my garden half a day and it doesn't effect my water bill too much.--> i save here also water, like in every other country i go.

i go out for food almost daily,--> not necessary ,if you have a good cook.

i dont need to heat my house, --> me too, as i am not there in winter.

the electric bill is still under control,--> also in Europe.

the ppl are not looking so miserable when going to work as in my home country,--> depends on the people.

i dont have to worry too much if i violate some minor traffic rules,--> also in Europe ,there is not always police on the road.

i do have here most of the products i need,--> same in europe.

i couldnt even have my dogs with me due they are banned in my home country--> to ban dogs, is not a bad idea in comparison to here!! freedom needs (self)control.

...and the list could go on.

  3. Feel better now ? All that angst released now you can get on with the rest of your life.

So? If nobody posts then nothing will get done.

.... and you think because you protest vote here that something will be done ... cheesy.gif

    sorry ...

why then write all the other topics everyday on TV(didnt mean you personally)?? also a waste of time......

  4. sorry yourauntbob, i adjusted your text. saved me time...

herb, why do you live here if you hate the culture sooo much? First, there are some parts of the culture/weather I do enjoy, living here only parttime. But, to answer your question, my wife.

She is one of the most selfless people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. After a hard day of work, she comes home and cooks a nice thai dinner for me while I talk to her.

Her priority list for just about everything in life is always her daughter and me, then her friends and finally herself.

I am lucky to have found her.

That being said, WE will be out of this country soon.

and one for the famous thaibeaches:

  6. Its such a shame that many people / animals in the world today are in much need of help. We have given alot of money / supplies to the school for the blind, and this month to there school with children that have no familys or nothing what so ever. It is a shame, but you cant help everyone..I do though hope these dogs get what they need from loving people

"It is a shame, but you cant help everyone".that is true and therefore the only way is to reduce them! now it doesnt help people and dogs either.

  7. sad.png I am in Udon Thani province, I am Austrian, I sometimes frequent German speaking Expat meeting points in Udon city,

    possible I met him.

I will ask when I am in Udon city.

Think, that is the third Austrian killed in Udon province in the last 2-3 years, bah.gif

one stabbed by his wife 21 or 27? times, in self defense, as she claimed, blink.png

one killed with a machete by his wives sister husband (his wife was also killed in the incident) the murderer hanged himself afterwards.

Dangerous place for us Austrians. whistling.gif

another whining farang. why are you complaining?? you like countries with no rules, no enforcements.

  8. Why is it that people feel the need to make pronouncements on something about which they know absolutely nothing.....and apparently do not have the intelligence to interpret a simple Thai media report without making huge assumptions.......it doesn't help anyone but makes themselves look downright ignorant.

because the need to fill up their posts till10,000. then you get a superior title like "senior superintendant advanced member". this you can print out and hang around your neck to show at the next bar meeting.
