About to fly to Thailand in <24 hrs, has the Thailand Pass replaced the certificate of entry that was implemented in October ?? (Australian Citizen).
My retirement extension expired already, so looking to enter on tourist visa exemption then renew once in country.
PS: I already have the Thailand pass approved and all other requirements, insurance, SQA+ booking, etc.
Thank you

The wealthier ones will always be welcome. In Thailand and any other country worldwide.
This word "wealthy" seems to get bandied around a lot on this forum.....one doesn't have to be "wealthy"(define wealthy) to be able to afford the necessary funds for insurance/money in the bank/visa fees, etc.....I would call that as just being comfortable.

I do feel sorry for guys that can't afford to live in Thailand......I used to be very apathetic, but now find myself feeling a little bit more empathetic.....keep counting your satangs guys ????

Racism does not exist. It is not a real thing. Various peoples are disliked because of their behavior. That is to say: the issue is not some abstract "race" or "colour of skin", it is a behavioral issue. It just so happens that unfortunately, just as all behavior is tied to genetics, the collective behavior patterns of different peoples are tied to their group genetics.
wow....just...wow.....I'm actually lost for a reply....good luck with that outlook :-)

Nearest neighbour is 150 meters from us, on 3 sides of my house is nothing but farmland......1.5 km to the local markets....30 kms away from a large town (not that I ever need to go there) life is great :-)

Members on an internet forum is something we can all see/read, with an alleged membership of 500k, there should have been nearly 10 members who died of COVID in the past year, with many more suffering serious hospital stays, and lingering after effects. Especially on this forum where there are many sick and elderly, one would have supposed many more of us would have suffered than in the general population. So where are all their posts describing their experiences? As far as I can see it's only me and then I get the fear mongers demanding to see a test result.
'People I know' is generally open to question, but I'd believe a lot of members posting of their own serious illness.
The dead ones haven't posted because......ummm.....they're dead ??

As the title say......beware !!
I flew out of Bangkok 5 weeks ago, was approached by a very well dressed and well spoken English chap, about early to mid 60's years of age.
He struck up a conversation, which eventually turned to him needing a few baht to enable him to fly back to the UK.
He was very very convincing, even had a backpack with a "portfolio" showing his bank statements, etc, etc.
The reason he needed some extra baht, was because he had to change his ticket, but his wallet was stolen and all his credit cards along with it.
Anyway, caught up with a friend tonight who flew out 2 weeks after me from Suvarnabhumi ....guess what....he got sucked in as well by the same pr*ck....
Wasn't huge money, but, beware if you come across him flying out....give him a clip around the ear for me and my friend if approached.

The OP (and perhaps a few members on here) really needs to understand the difference between "steering" and "countersteering".
Go look at a few videos on youtube or similar and then go practice (preferably on a quite soi/road) and ensure you know how to do it.
Mastering countersteering can save your ass and is a must know !!!

Once I retired and left CM to come back home to Far North Queensland, I also returned to the perennial mosquito/dengue problem. James Cook University have now virtually eliminated dengue by infecting mosquitoes with Wolbachia bacteria and releasing them to breed with the wider population. I've always wondered why the Chiang Mai authorities didn't liase with JCU and solve this perennial problem once and for all.
Whereabouts in FNQ are you located ?

This was news over a week ago in one of the national rags.....also, that daily news link attached to the article incorrectly spells his surname.

I leave my 4 yr old in the back seat at times , with the aircon running, absolutely no problem at all !!!
I'm always just outside my drivers door, usually having a cigarette, waiting for the missus who may be in the shops/market, etc.
The big difference is my son is safely strapped into his child seat in the rear....
