400K or 800K....I think it doesn't matter for the sake of the thread....some people are flat broke and may very well have to leave... is the gist of it I think.

They may very well have to leave the country...leaving the children fatherless.

It shows that the bible does not tell history, It is telling parables for those that understand. Their is no proof that Abraham, Moses, Jesus etc ever existed. It was written by a couple of wise authors trying to advise people how to improve their lives. Christ means natural intelligence and hope of glory. And the bible says Christ
is in you. He is not an invisible person outside. And what is in you? Your spirit, your consciousness. The bible say "be still and know I am God" I am ... that is you, everybody.
And Jesus crucified is you - being crucified to this matrerial life.
At least makes more sense then taking the stories literally...
And by the way ... do you know who you are? John Do? Is that all that you are? really ?
So...exactly who did write this so called "BIBLE" that so many hypocrites talk and preach about (not saying you are)
IMHO I think it's crap....
PS: No idea what reference your John Do is about.

CHRISTIANITY:
The popular belief that a celestial Jewish baby who is also his own father, born from a virgin mother,
died for three days so that he could ascend to heaven on a cloud and then make you live forever.
Only if you symbolically eat his flesh, drink his blood and telepathically tell him that you accept
him as your lord and master.
He can then remove an evil force from your spiritual being that is present in all humanity
because an immoral woman made from a man's rib was hoodwinked by a talking reptile possessed
by a malicious angel to secretly eat forbidden fruit from a magical tree....
SOUNDS PERFECTLY PLAUSIBLE....

Hi people, I'm here to update you with the end of the story.
Packed up my stuff and moved to a different place.
Next on the list was telling the owner about it, she talked to the person who has stolen the money.
Big drama went on for 10 minutes, people became emotional (I felt a bit bad) and got my money back together with a refund for the rest of my stay.
That's it, no plan B or C needed to be launched ????.
Commonsense approach, well done !!

Because it has not been enforced before. Some offices are not enforcing it now or only when you change addresses.
I have never been asked for one either.
fair enough...

Can anyone explain to me why I have never (knowingly) filled one of these forms out in the 11 years of living here ??
I've been coming and going multiple times per year in that time (work roster)
Never been quizzed at immigration when renewing visa extensions about it either...puzzled...

It always seems dependent on the IO you deal with.
For the past couple of years, Udon has checked my TM30 is correct when I've applied for my extension of stay.
A friend also in Udon was fined 800 Baht last year for not having a TM30.
Exactly....so if this particular IO said not problem , why create a drama ?? move to Chiang Mai and leave it at that...sheesh...

Since getting this strange reaction from the IO my GF was still curious about it, so she wanted to ask some other people about it.
I told her she can try to call the government hotline 1111, i never called them, so i thought we can give it a try.
The conversation was about like this:
GF: My BF stays with me, i did a TM30 when he moved in, do i have to submit a new TM30 when he was out of Thailand and comes back?
1111: Yes, every time he has been out of Thailand and comes back to stay at your place you have to submit a TM30. Also if he stayed somewhere else in Thailand and then stays at your place again.
GF: I was at the immigration office in Udon Thani, they said a TM30 is required only one time, and i don't have to submit it again if he stays with me again.
1111: (The person was a bit hesitant) The immigration office might be flexible in applying this law
GF: But the law says i have to submit a TM30 every time?
1111: yes
So at least according to the person at the government hotline a TM30 is required every time we stayed somewhere else, luckily this law is currently only slightly enforced.
So why do you insist on making waves ???? I've been using UD Immigration for 10 years, they never ask me to submit a TM30, you could fark it up for the rest of us by calling this fricken govt hotline.....DOH !!!

As far as I'm aware its either (400,000 lump in the bank ) or (40,000 per month) not both.

Incomes can be spent as they come in.
Ok, that now clears it up in a straightforward manner for me.
Cheers ????

Yes, but they may request proof of the 400K still in the bank at the point of issuing the extension.
So it's not either one ?? but possibly both ??

I seem to get more confused every time I read a new post on this....
So, just for clarification (for me)....
I can either:.
A) Show 400K in my bank 2 months prior to extending
OR
B) Show a min of 40K coming into my Bangkok Bank account per month (shown as an international transfer)
is that it ??
Cheers ????

My monthly expenditures in Thailand are around 80,000 a month.
Ive been here for 8 years, and I live in Issan. I dont live here non-stop because when im working, I have to travel.
Its gotten to the point where I really hate living here, and the only reason im still here is because of the tax break that US citizens get for being away from the USA. Im saving & stockpiling cash for my move back to the USA, and all the expenses that requires. House, car, insurance...etc.
If you look at it objectively, from a financial standpoint, the only way thailand makes sense is when you are in a lower income bracket. Small thai house, preferably rented, motorbike, and local food with the occasional splurge.
Once you start looking at a decent, modern place to live in this country with a nice car - Thailand makes ZERO financial sense. Youre looking at a several hundred thousand dollar outlay to live in a developing country with substandard building process and overpriced vehicles. A country that you will never be a citizen of. A country that you will forever be a "guest" in.
Theres nothing wrong with living "cheaply" in Thailand, but IMO unless one is retiring here to do just that, its a waste of ones life.
It really sounds like you have not made a life for yourself here mate...do you have friends and/or interests that you can do when here ??
Language (lack of) can be also be a hurdle, however, I am proficient enough in Thai that the wife never needs to tag to translate and almost all of my friends are Thai.
I earn 400,000 baht a month every month, working a roster that allows me to spend more time at home than at work, just turned 49 last month.
Been here 11 years, married 9yrs, we have travelled all over Thailand and been to Australia approx 8 times on holidays....although our now 3 yr old son has slowed things down somewhat.
Try buying a 200m2 of DIRT in Australia for the price you quoted in another post (unless in the middle of bumfukc Australia) you would be astounded at the prices....
In my industry (oil & gas) that has such high safety rules and regulations, and even in Australia generally nowadays, one can't fart in public without permission, it is refreshing to just kick back at home (yes...in Issan also) and chillax.
Got our own house that I designed, a couple of condo's that we rent, several rai elsewhere and on our 3rd car also, got me a scooter to zip around the village and my big bike to go for the odd 400/500km road trip.
Heaps of baht in the bank(wife is a great saver) and would not ever contemplate moving to Australia, even though we could afford to tomorrow...
I guess at the end of the day, home is what you make of it...cheers.

In short...I think you are right...opinions are very much dependent on how much "coin" some have.

I think that book can have the opposited effect on guys as well, after reading they think EVERY Thai girl is a "private dancer", even if she works in a hotel or a bank, 7/11, etc.
Become very "untruthworthy" as opposed to "wary", at times perhaps killing any chance of a half decent relationship with a local lass (if that was he was after of course).
Just my 2c worth :-)

As far as I know, you can only change the computers language, unless you have some sort of outside program to translate, but not 100% sure.
I you run vista, go to the control panel go then Regional / Language options and you can change it there - you may need an install disc to complete the changes.
Travelling with Thai gf - can use the Thai line with her at airport or not?
