    Geez, talk more bs please.

I don't know if you have ever been to Nai Harn (apparently not) but they are constantly blowing their whistle trying to get people out of the water or direct them to the dedicated red/yellow area for swimming. People just ignore them, keep on swimming in the dedicated surfers area or the red flag area in general.

I agree. I have been at Nai Harn in conditions like this. The yellow and red flags we really close together and they were only letting people go in a narrow area where they could see what was going on and intervene. Sadly people do think they can go where they want and they do their best to control it.

Inside those two flags was really rough. Outside the flags was just too dangerous. RIP to the poor guy, so sad.

And to think there's one idiot who constantly posts on here that Thailand doesn't have dangerous seas or currents.

It is, but it is faster, safer and more comfortable.

    It's also properly maintained.

So you get what you pay for.

We'll agree to differ then. Maintenance was definitely an issue under the SRT (which is Thailand's most incompetent government agency)( but hopefully under Asia Era One it will be better. They already improved the stations adding better signage, better access, and TOILETS!! But time will tell.

Safety? There's never been an accident on the ARL as far as I am aware. I remember one on the KLIA express when two trains collided. The entire thing was also suspended a few years ago for a couple of years only returning to full service last year.

It's not faster either, both systems run at 160kmh, but it may seem that way as it covers a much longer distance and doesn't stop like the ARL does

I am at BKK now, having travelled on the ARL from town and it was fast, cheap, and comfortable and dropped me right in the airport. I think it has it's flaws but overall it is a decent system.

Finally, the KLIA Express takes you to KL which is a turdhole. the ARL takes you in to Bangkok.  🙂

    Agree to disagree.

Yes, that is correct. Vientiane Station will become the interchange between standard gauge Chinese HST and metre (narrow) gauge - for passengers and freight heading south to Bangkok.

Not correct according to Richard Barrow. The metre gauge terminal Vientiane station is about 25 minutes away from the standard gauge high speed Vientiane station. Different places entirely.

If on a standard 28 day cycle, easyflow will be the last 3 days, mflow the 3 days before that.

Eh? there's no such thing as Easyflow, and what is this 28 day cycle?

Easypass is a device that you top up online (or in physical offices) and you are deducted every time you pass a toll. You need to make sure you have credit or the gate won't open. Works on most expressways if not all (it didn't use to work on the Don Muang tollway but don't know if that has changed). You have an RFID device stuck on your windscreen that the gates read.

M Pass is exactly the same and is interchangeable. Originally Easy Pass was for the number 7 and other Bangkok expressways excluding the ring road (number 9). M Pass was for the ring road and excluded everything else. A few years ago they made them interchangeable so Easy Pass and M Pass both work on the same tolls.

M Flow is something different. There is no RFID device, you register your car online and the cameras recognise when you pass - there are no toll gates. You can be charged on your credit card or direct debit, or you can pay monthly. This only works on the number 9 ring road currently. They are supposed to roll out M Flow for all tollways this year but I haven't seen anything happening - probably why they won't issue the OP a new M Pass because it is being superceded.

Say what you like, it is better than a taxi, as I said I am coming own from lop Buri get off the Minibus at Mawchit, hail a taxi, taxi driver sees it is a Farang says 500 baht to the airport I say, in Thai, use the meter, he drives away.

I do not need the hassle, the BTS  train Mawchit to Parathai ,then the link, always have a seat, one time of day it was very quiet now with the other colored lines having links to it, it is now a major commuter link.

You want a comparison to try the London underground, Piccadilly line to LHR from the city.......

Yep, Picadilly Line King's Cross to LHR would cost £6.90 / 315 baht, take an hour, be packed, no seats, no luggage space, and have about 20 stops. And no aircon.

Or you can take the Heathrow Express form Paddington for £25 / 1,165 THB for a 15 minute journey. You'll probably get a seat. By the way this is the most expensive train journey in the world per passenger mile.

Or the ARL from Phaya Thai to Suvaranabhuni is 45 baht / 95 British pence. Aircon, fast, convenient, ends up right in the basement below departures, unlike the Heathrow Express.

I know which I would prefer. @rabang is just a basher with no argument. "Narrow"?? It's the same width as any other train.

That's good news about Samet. Last time I went it was filthy. I hope they made the piers safe too. Very dangerous last time I went.

Yes, it is much improved. Very very pleasantly surprised after going back for the first time in 15+ years.

The pier is much better and more organised. There is also now a high speed catamaran service from Ban Phe. I haven't used it as I prefer to go by speedboat but it looks very nice.

The only development I don't like is that speedboats from the mainland now can't drop you directly on your beach. Every boat has to dock at the main pier, and then there is an organised set up to pay the park fee. It is way more organised and makes sense, but I did like just rocking up on a speedboat right outside your hotel.

The road is now a proper road. And even the 7-Elevens there don't give out plastic bags. It's clean.

I've only taken the airport rail link a few times, but I noticed that it was run like an old-fashioned train, with a train running every 15 or 20 minutes according to a strict schedule.  I think that it would be much more useful to run it like the BTS or MRT, with a train every 5 minutes.

They are every ten minutes in off peak. Every 6 minutes or so in peak times.

The Bradford (muslim) rape gang, abused, raped, drugged, and forced into prostitution, young girls that were in care and therefore particularly vulnerable over a period of many years. The victims  suffered an appalling catalogue of degrading emotional and sexual abuse which deprived them of their childhood; you want to categorise my description of these men as ‘vile muslim monsters’ as a cliche ….. so let’s hear your description of them then.

They were a vile gang who committed terrible acts of depravity. No one argues with that. However, because Yaxley banged his drum you think he had something to do with their conviction, whilst in fact the opposite is true and he nearly caused their trial to fail. Al because of his own selfish actions. And all so people like you would spew his nonsense verbatim and donate to his (personal) cause.

He takes you for fools. And for good reason.

I am going to the airport on Monday, coming down from Lopburi ,is the Airport Link open yet.

    Thanks.

The Airport link has always been open. Nothing has changed.

If you mean the three airport connection (DMK, BKK and Utapao), then no. But the airport link in Bangkok is working as normal.

Not surprising that you have the temerity to claim another poster had insinuated something he clearly had not; just so you could attack Yaxley with more vitriol.

Yaxley is almost a lone voice in the UK, in trying to keep the thousands of acts of the vile muslim rapists from fading from the collective consciousness. The acts that you and your ilk are only too happy to see forgotten.

It is a shame that rather than reserve some of your hatred for these vile, muslim, monsters, you reserve it all for a man trying to stop people forgetting their heinous acts; says everything about your enabling attitude, which is a huge part of the problem, not just in the UK, but in all of Europe, with the exception of the Visegrad Group … left wing bedwetters sleepwalking Europe into an Islamic state

I have said it before and I'll say it again - Yaxley doesn't care about vile monster rapists - as long as they are white, and even better if they were part of the EDL. He protected paedophiles, stood up for them, even protested to have them released from custody. What are your thoughts on this? Please answer.

Yaxley didn't expose the Muslim gangs. He had nothing to do with it whatsoever. But he saw a bandwagon he could jump on to raise money (for himself). Please discuss. How did he expose these gangs? He didn't.

This is just racist nonsense that doesn't deserve a response. Can you debate using adult words? "Left wing bedwetters", "vile Muslim monsters", "Islamic state". Can you actually make an argument that we can discuss?? Or do you just want to throw out racist and right wing cliches?

PS,haven't been to Samet for 20 years but the beaches there took some beating years ago.

Samet is clean and beautiful. I used to go often, starting from 28 years ago. I agree it got beaten and maybe 15 years ago I checked out of a three night stay - at a good resort - after one day because it was filthy. I was with my parents and it was embarrassing, we checked out and went to Centara Grand Mirage in Pattaya! Yeah, it was that bad.

I didn't go back for maybe 17-18 years but went back a few years ago and was very pleasantly surprised. Been back a few times since and it is spotless, clean sand, clean water, great restaurants. My kids love it, I would recommend it to anyone (after definitely not recommending it for a long time).

Thailand has cleaned up its act in many respects. Samui is another place I used to go to regularly when I first came here but stopped for a long time. Now I love it again, clean and pretty.

Where did he say that, and if he didn't, why are you misquoting him ?

What the hell are you talking about?

I replied to, and quoted, a poster who said:

"After reading that lot, your true self has come to the fore, and it ain't pretty."

And I asked if Yaxley was pretty as that was the insinuation of the poster.

That was clear, don't make up claims for me please. Grown up arguments only, don't make things up.

Yaxley-Lennon does not care about paedophiles, full stop. He cares about brown ones as it gives him a bandwagon to jump on and some good fund raising opportunities. He has a history of, at best, ignoring paedophilia is his own organisation, or, at worst, defending paedophiles in his own organisation.  He not only defended Richard Price but he led campaigns to have him released! Disgusting paedophile defending hypocrite. He also - despite warnings - jeopardised the trials of the grooming gangs and almost caused them to be released or re-trialled.. All for his own ends. No concern for justice, only concern for his bank balance.

And yet his knuckle dragging followers think the grooming gangs were caught because "he wasn't afraid to speak out" which is just laughable. He didn't care / didn't know and only got involved when the case was very advanced and he saw a bandwagon. And then he nearly caused justice not to be done.

Yaxley-Lennon is an odious thug who plays the game for his own enrichment. Nothing more, nothing less. But of course the racists love him and believe everything that comes out of his lying mouth.

You sure you didn't see a 2024 "black" Atto 3?   For 2024 they dropped the red color and replaced it with black.   I've seen several black Atto 3's on the roads.

No, it was definitely a Seal U. Red plates. Maybe it's an advance model for dealers, not sure, but definitely was a Seal U. I was going to take a photo but we were driving in opposite directions and by the time I got my phone he'd already gone past.

Don't use above website...it hasn't been update for years.  Use below which is the website of the sole/official distributor of BYD vehicles in Thailand....it's where the BYD dealerships get all of their BYD cars.  And I didn't think the BYD Seal U had been released yet in Thailand....it's not shown as an available model at below website.

Ah thank you, this is helpful. Looks like it's not released so it must be either an advance for the dealers or perhaps a grey import?

It was on Thonglor so I'm going for hi-so Thai wanting one first so importing it through the grey market. But just a guess.
