I hope they fix this soon because my favourite website for uploading videos is hosted in the UK...

Not likely. They haven't even started to look at fixing it yet as the area is too volatile currently.

I use a UK VPN for a lot of things (streaming iPlayer for example) and didn't notice anything until the second break happened in the Malacca straights. I guess they were rerouting traffic a different way to get around the Red Sea break, but when that backup also broke things started crawling.

I think the Malacca one will be fixed soon so hopefully that will improve things as currently it is very frustrating and I have given up trying to stream anything from the UK.

Yes My True Internet has been painfully slow the last couple of weeks, I pay 854 baht a month and have the router for the last 3 years in the same condo.  It's one particular UK video sharing site I upload videos to is painfully slow, US video site uploads instantly.... also some other sites are slow and I live stream.

Yes, that's because of the Red Sea cable damage as posted above. It affects traffic between Asia and Europe. Asia to the US is unaffected.

If I get to the mall indoor parking before mall opens, SUV or truck both diesel stays running with cool AC blowing. When I pick up my kid from school and have to wait 20 minutes, diesel SUV stays running AC blowing. As does most everyone else parked near me.

Some folks are just too thin skinned. I suppose some vehicles are poorly tuned and smoke, my vehicles are properly maintained and are not bothersome.

No, you're wrong. Any diesel SUV is bothersome to people in range of the fumes - they are filthy and disgusting.

Let me guess, you drive a Fortuner?

I need to connect some European services for work which are running very slowly recently, like, so slow my work is impossible. Upgraded True fiber to 100/100 and it gives good speeds most of the time but still had issues with my work. Then I ran the Ookla speedtest to Finland.

    How is this even possible?

It is not True's fault. In March around 15 undersea cables were cut in the Red Sea and that's disrupting traffic between Europe and Asia. They still haven't been repaired.

Then last month another cable was cut between Malaysia and Singapore so this is making things even worse.

Lots of existing threads on AN about this.

  5. I doubt Thailand can pull it off - they would need massive investment in stadia and how would they be used afterwards? But the last truly Asian host was Japan-Korea in 2002 and until the current batch are done in 2034 (Saudi) there won't be another one. So 2038 is 32 years since the last Asian host and it is surely due. (They count Qatar and Saudi as being Asia but I don't).

People thought Japan-Korea was a ridiculous choice but they pulled it off - I was there and it was fantastic. Could Thailand do it? The only thing in their favour is good infrastructure but not good venues. But 14 years is a long time to get it together.

A long and unlikely shot though unless they collaborate with other countries. Thailand-Vietnam-Malaysia perhaps? That would be awesome.

❤️You are truly a big and generous man with your time.

Yes I am, I have better things to do. It is a minor irritation that necessitates me pressing on "debit" on my phone screen when I want to make an online payment. It takes me three seconds. As I said I can live with that.

If I happen to go to the bank for something else (that happens maybe once a year, max) I'll ask them, otherwise I'll live with it.

  7. Three things:

    •  "The black pickup was sent soaring". ChatGPT needs more training. It fell, it didn't soar. Just more poor and painful writing.
    • The black motorbike guy had a very lucky escape.
    • I am glad the pickup was destroyed. By its wheels and "Liqui Moly" sticker you know this was one of those modified trucks driven by morons that is chipped to spew out black filth. "Rolling coal". Good riddance.

It's a new to Bangkok Bank feature previously available on K Bank

when scanning, you have to select which accounts you are paying from

and in case of credit card, the merchant has to set up to accept credit cards via QR scanning too

Yeah, this changed recently. Annoyingly mine defaults to credit card and I don't even have a Bangkok bank credit card, so I have to change it to direct debit manually on each transaction.
