NO You obviously don't know the procedure here in CNX. For example, at arrival at their Airport Office location one reports to a little office where they advise you where to go for your requirements, and they give you a Q number. So one then goes to the next office (where they check your documents) and wait for one's number to be called, there must have been at least 50 others waiting. Finally, my Q number is called where I was politely told by IO that I need photocopies of every page of my old and new passports, yes, I queried the lass about every page to which she replied to the affiliative. There is no notice anywhere re their requirements for transferring data from one passport to another. So then I have to line up to get the required photocopies. Then needed another Q number to return to the check documents window, and the wait. Eventually documents were checked to which I was issued with a new Q number and told to report to window no. 2 in the main building. Again, the place was packed, and the wait. When my new number was called the lady again checked my documents and was told to sit and wait whilst they did the transcribing. 5 hours - easy I could go on about your other comments, but its not worth the energy.

The real problem here in Thailand is not the Australian Government, but its reporting a new passport to Thai Immigration (yesterday spent a good 5 hours at the CNX Office) and today spent about the same at Bangkok Bank. Copies, copies, copies of everything, and then duplication. TIT I have yet to go to change my drivers licence, advise my internet provider, my hospital, my mobile network provider, and the list goes on. Save me!

Accessing deceased foreigner's thai bank account
CM4Me replied to kiwijack's topic in General Topics
Thailand s a big country. What's the province where the bank account is held? I would then go to that province's forum for help and local knowledge. -
Earlier this month I completed an application 'On Line', and then printed it out. Had my photo taken at 2 places, the 1st one didn't conform to the stated requirements, and I believe is the main reason for rejection.. On the 7th of March the embassy had a previously announced 'outing' day here in CNX, for which I made an appointment, at which I submitted my application. Believe it or not, but on Sunday the 23rd, some 16 days after my submission, my new passport was delivered to my door. Excellent service, and very easy procedure.

Thursday's game in Brisbane and Saturday's game on the Gold Coast have been postponed due to the expected arrival of a cyclone.
-
First game of the season is this Thursday the 6th. Could be postponed due to the expected cyclone into Brisbane
-
Great pre-season game today, including seeing some of the talented indigenous stars performing

I hope ABC Australia through True Cable (and only True Cable) will be showing at least 6 games per week, as in the past

Many years ago, I suffered with debilitating bouts of PTSD. Many medicine cocktails had little to no effect. After some time, my treating psychiatrist suggested I try meditation. Changed my life!!! I understand many Buddhist Temples, in the larger touristy areas, offer meditation training in English. Worth a try.

Late Wednesday reported the matter to DVA. V/early this morning got a reply from them saving there was a problem with some international payments, and a 2nd instalment would be paid asap. About 11.00 today (Thursday) I received the 2nd instalment. Problem solved

I have been receiving my DVA pension paid directly into my Bangkok Bank account for quite some time now. Today (11/12) I got paid at half my normal pension rate. Has anyone else had such troubles????

An ad by Chiang Mai Medical Centre regularly appears on the Chiang Mai Expats Club Newsletter. They may provide the service and price the OP is seeking. I myself have never used them

Thanks to one and all for the replies to my post. To answer some of the questions: * I take my Ramipril the last thing at night before I retire * Haven't smoked for around 25 years * I'm only a very modest drinker & then only on the occasion when enjoying a dinner with friends * I exercise most days - 60 laps non-stop in my lap pool * All readings are taken before eating * Perhaps one other important factor might be is that I celebrated my 80th this year 🙂.

Tks for your post chiang mai. I follow the UK NHS recommendation re testing for BP They say when you wake up, go for a pee the sit and relax for 5 minutes before testing. The other 3 daily tests I do are before eating, but again I sit and relax for 5 minutes.

For the last 5 years, or so, my BP has been relatively stable, but recently it has gone crazy, with fluctuating readings. When I recently became aware of these fluctuations I commenced taking a reading 4 times a day. These readings now can range from 119/73 to 150/70, with a similar difference, each time, between L & R. I do take Ramipril 2.5mg/day (which I have been doing for the last 5 years or so, where my BP has normally been in the normal range). I do NOT have any adverse symptoms, like headaches, blurred vision, dizziness etc, and today I went and had blood tests for Lipid Profile, Glucose and Sodium, all within normal range (except down a bit for Triglycerides). I do have an appointment to see a Cardiologist this coming Monday, but would appreciate any reports from members that have had similar problems (so I can better understand what the Dr is asking/telling me). TIA

Petrus, I hope your heading is not true, there's some exciting games to come -
Just like John49 posted, I have tried many many treatments over the years. Some retarded but none never cured, that is until a pharmacists recommended Clopirox solution, applied the same way John49 describes. After several months of applying Clopirox I am seeing an improvement, my 2 big toes are now looking somewhat normal, but its a long slow process

Places to EAT around Chiang Mai - reviews and discussion

Agree, 100% -
I agree with you 100% At any cafe / coffee shop when one orders tea they make it with boiling water, as it should be. And as Kiwi said coffee they serve here is never hot enough. So now whenever I order a coffee, I ask for it to be "ron mark mark", and it usually is 🙂

For info - received an advertising flyer today from Bumrungrad, they are offering 10% off their ReZum procedure until the 31st May 2024

2 years ago, I had radiation treatment at Bumrungrad (Dr Apichart). Wonderful Dr / hospital. Expensive, in my case paid by DVA. I feel terrific.

When we sold our home some 3 years ago, the purchaser arranged for a building inspection. The inspectors were, in my opinion, very professional. As a result, I obtained their mobile number for future use if required. Their number is 080 843 4998. Good luck
