This is probably about the worst place you could find to have a technical discussion about CryptoCurrencys...if it was a conversation about bargirls, beer chang and the good oulde days you would find a more reciprocal audience
Also about 4 years ahead of the curve too but by the time it's easy enough for grandma to use, the potential returns of investment will be greatly dimished by that stage too....
No risk, No reward
Indeed, risk based, and on the same faith as fiat currency without the governments knowing much information.
A bitcoin will probably reach $500,000 within 6 years. Faith. It may also be worth 100 USD or less.

You are free to ship tools from your home country.
That being said the Customs department is free to levy whatever duty is deemed appropriate by a Customs officer. i have never gotten a handle on how duty is assessed.
I found it to be a kind of "Black Hole".
Good luck

More Brit Humor? What does your post mean?
Kindly notice I didn't say anything negative I simply ask a simple question.
Can you do the same?

Don't apologize the reaction was an example of Americans lack of humour. They only speak English after a very close vote so their humour could be said to be partly German?
Better yet Vocal, your choice of deciding what is the correct humor..
You lost the seas a long time ago and apparently you have an issue with that.
That post to which I replied was fully beyond idiotic.
You possibly think it was appropriate and I am the idiot.
Up to you.

Not nice..
It all boils down to the king of the hill at any given moment. The UK was a master of the world for a long time and now that as I clearly posted with a link is a thing of the past. Brits do not want to see it. I get that..
The USA will fall and another country will rise. I hope the downfall of the USA can happen without the use of hydrogen weapons. It is beyond the control of anyone other than the POTUSA how he will respond.
There are a lot of horrible weapons laying around in silos. The USA has a bunch of them.
Bitter people better start hoping about what the future holds.

SNIP
I didn't bother to read your post after I saw this statement: "Apparently some Americans were yearning for a reunion with Great Britain and received the following response from a high ranking official of the United Kingdom".
Do you think a person of reasonable intelligence should read the crap you post without any validation whatsoever?
Do you know how to post a link? If so please do so when posting
I think you can do better than that if you give it a try.

Off topic pedantry but maybe you'll see it before it's deleted:
"Scotch," yes. "Teaze," no. But the quotation was from Arthur Murphy's (an Irishman) bio of Johnson, published in 1792. Guess Murphy didn't look it up. The Z (and "ei" rather than "ea") had been around for quite awhile and still appears in Brit writings at least as late as 1827. It'd probably be seen today in forum posts were it not for the spelling checker.
Worked.

The police aren't the proper authorities for getting your funds reenstated. The best they could do is arrest someone.
You need to contact the bank that issued the card ASAP and let them handle it. I'd bet money on you getting some if not all your lost money back.
Sorry Meljames. There's always a time lag. First thing I did was report to my bank. I think reported above the steps I took after that.

I forgot to add for vogie that I have to question Ringo's occupation as a window cleaner had it not been for the Beatles. I once read for a period of time Ringo was the most successful Beatle after the breakup. Obviously that can't be true today.
Again, I am not really a fan of Sir Star's voice or music. I reply to the issue of dinging him.
I regret that the issues the Beatles had causing their breakup could not be resolved. Christ, look at then routy Stones.
Mick Jagger is approaching 97 or 105, and going strong. How did they do it with only booze and drugs? The beatles only got STDs while in Hamburg...

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but without Lennon and McCartney and later George Harrison who were the talented members of the Beatles, Ringo Starr would probably now be cleaning windows in Birkenhead.
No problem. You haven't disappointed me. I was merely replying about how bullying seems to be so pervasive throughout history.
Since the Beatles broke up, I've had no interest in the music of Ringo Star but while he was a Beatle's member he was a popular figure and as such, I see no justifiable reason for john Lennon to take a dig at him. That's all I'm saying.
You left out how I posted both Lennon and McCartney let Star and HARRISON know who was important to the group.

Are there regular Coast Guard inspections of vessels in Thailand to check seaworthiness and things like life vests?

Think I'd leave the crime busting to the cops and bankers and focus on getting my funds reimbursed. If it's a US card with a Visa stamp on it you have a very good chance of getting some reimbursement.
I appreciate and understand what you're saying but after reporting this to the proper authorities, I realize it is a pure file 13 matter to all involved.
I walked into one police station to find it empty except for one officer who had his head tilted back with his mouth open.
I liked that officer but he finally told me I needed to go to a different station.
I went to the station he directed me to and an attractive and nice officer told me to go the the bank branch to ask for the ATM photos.
In less than a heartbeat, Meljames, I would stake your life on the response of the bank to me just walking in and requesting photos. I even told the officer I know the bank will simply shine me on. She countered by giving me her phone number and saying call me from the branch and I'll talk with the bank.
45 minutes of my life were spent to hear the bank lady say I needed a police report. I will mention the lady I spoke with started to help me by jumping my case in front of the lady she was helping and I said I don't want to butt in ahead of others. I could have saved time by doing that but it wouldn't have been the right thing to do. When I said to the bank lady, when it was my correct turn, she can talk with the police officer, she then said "the report must have the police stamp on it.
Back to the station for the report. Again the police were very friendly and respectful.
I went through the police report process and there was no charge for the report which I fully expected.
Back to the bank and I was starting to get the feeling from them that I was the perpetrator rather than the victim. It's too complicated to easily and clearly explain but since there's been reference in this thread about the bank ATM reimbursing, maybe they thought I was hoping to get the TMB bank to shell out the loss to me. That never even entered my mind.
The last thing in the world the police would do, I'm convinced, is to request and view a photo of whomever withdrew baht from my account. It could be anybody including a waitress of a place where I often eat.
I'm not looking for a law enforcement job or really to even do their job. But knowing what I know about how this crime works, I am willing to go to the next step, whatever that is.
I still want to know what Peterw42 was doing on the date of December 26,2017...

I have a service enabled that sends me a text message immediately after a cash withdrawal or a purchase with a card reader, and it works really well, the message arrives every time within a minute. Of course this doesn't protect against anything, but at least I would know very quickly if someone had cloned my card and was out shopping with it. It's not cheap (50cents/message), but it gives me peace of mind, I can recommend it.
I have that service on the Thai bank I use but it's not available with my USA bank. In fact, the US bank will only call me for verification when I request a money transfer. They will accept a fax from me but will never send one even after I offered to cover the cost of doing so.
I wonder if anyone has a foreign bank (home country) card that offers a text notice upon a withdrawal?
But I still wonder about the use of such a service inasmuch as it offers "after the fact information". i.e. I just received notice a guy who withdrew 30k baht from my account is on the songthaew driving down the street away from the ATM he just robbed.

Sounds like someone the OP knew had access to his card and took advantage. A skimmer wouldn't wait around 2 years to collect on his efforts.
I love this.. I'm reminded of the long defunct AC2 and the detective type questions posters asked about such things as how did a guys girlfriend manage to view any of the forums content. That could go on for pages and pages.
Back to your post Peterw42. Please tell me and the rest of the forum what You were doing on the 26th of December 2017?
Were you anywhere near the TBM bank that day when the crime took place?
Of course I want to see the photos of the perp. Just as Beau Bridges said in True Grit, "cut him down, I may know him"
I know the chances of the thief being caught are between the proverbial slim and none, but I want to do whatever I can to prevent that person (s) from doing a repeat to me or someone else.
I may have mentioned photos 3 times in my OP, I didn't count. I do know I never once to anyone gave the slightest hint that I anticipated or hoped for the TMB bank to do any reimbursement. They did nothing wrong, they simply own the ATM.
My bank in the USA implied but didn't promise that i would be reimbursed. I'm mentally prepared that I will simply have to eat the loss.
I figure if I cut down to no more than 300 calories a day of food and limit myself to one beer every other week I can manage to get through this event.

Trust this all works out...vary your ATB withdraw locations?
Thanks Rhys.
I admit I somewhat had that feeling of invulnerability common with many youths. I mostly do use bank locations for withdrawals and when I don't I look for any abnormalities with the ATM As mentioned, I had not used the card in nearly two years and I definitely don't carry it with me. It's left in the safe as a back up.
